Mrs. and Mrs. Paul Balk were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob A. Balk Sunday evening.
Jack and Bill Lawrence, students at St. Ambrose college in Davenport, Ia., visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Lawrence this weekend. They were accompanied by their friend John Nolan of Sioux City, Iowa.
R.E. Bradley has received word that his brother, L.V. Bradley of Morrison submitted to surgery Saturday evening for a ruptured appendix. hi condition is good.
Dr. and Mrs. C.P. Hendricks returned home Monday evening from Anniston, Ala. where they visited with their daughter, Capt. Lelia Hendricks.

Last Monday a lady called on Mrs. Doctor Bryning, and while chatting Mrs. B. incidentally remarked, "This is my birthday." Nothing more was thought of the matter until night came, when the door bell rang furiously, and, the door being opened the people of Fulton began to file in, and soon the house was crowded to "overflowing." The visitors had come provided and if there was not a merry night then at Dr. Bryning's, his family thinks they never saw one. (Contributed by Yvonne Shultis)

Mr. Joel Farley, of Fulton, was in town Saturday, and purchased a span of
horses from L. G. Johnson, Esq. Joel left Fulton, Monday, for Nebraska,
wherehe will remain sometime putting improvements upon his farm.

Mr. O. A. Farley of Oakland, Neb., who has been visiting his brother, Mr.
Joel Farley, at Fulton, for a few weeks, was in the city Friday. He will
take back with him a car load of horses which Joel has recently purchased,
five of which were bought in this city.

Mr. O. A. Farley of Craig, Neb., arrived in the city Thursday morning to
visit his brother, Sheriff Farley. Their mother, who resided here for a
time with her son, but who was obliged to seek another climate
on account of her health, is now residing with her son in Craig, and is
improving.

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Farley and son Perry departed for their home in Fulton,
IL. Monday morning after a month visit. They were planing a trip to the
Pacific Coast but abandoned that portion after their son's accident.

Harvey Mitchell, for over sixty years a continuous resident of Fulton and who since the death of his wife a few years ago had been living with his daughter in the north part of town, Wednesday left for Chicago to make his future home with his son, Harvey, Jr. For over fifty years Mr. Mitchell conducted a barber shop in this city. Of the names of the men that appeared in the city directory for Fulton for the years 1857 and 1858, Mr. Mitchell is the last survivor to move away. (Contributed by Nancy Kolk)

Dr. Charles N. Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Harrrison was born March 2, 1864 in Camanche, [Clinton County] Ia. He was married to Carrie Knostman, who passed away here, and married Lutie Green of Fulton Nov. 7, 1916. He is survived by one son Norman; one daughter, Mrs. Norman Moore, and two granchildren, all of Culver City, Calif. Burial was Wednesday in Fulton cemetery. (contributed by Larry Reynolds)

Alexandria LA - Pvt. James R. Ludens, 34 of 1028 Ninth Ave. Fulton IL died yesterday (23 June 1944) after a Camp Livingston army truck overtruned. Two other soldiers died and 16 were injured.
