The remains of William Terry of St. Louis were interred here Monday. Rev. Brown conducted the services.

Fred Howland and family of Sterling came to his father’s Friday and remained until Sunday.

Charles Franks who has been so very sick is improving at this writing.

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Howland went to Sterling Wednesday to visit their son Fred the remainder of the week. They were accompanied by Mrs. Emma Wells who expect to take the train from Sterling for her home in Aberdeen, S.D.

Herman Wildman who has been attending school in Dixon is at home for the summer.
John Schmitt came out from Chicago the latter part of the week for a two weeks’ vacation at home.
Mrs. Grace Mapes and little daughter came out from Prophetstown Saturday and will visit at Burton Mapes’ for several days.
Mrs. W.E. Reynolds and children spend Saturday and Sunday at Ed Schmitt’s near Rickel.
Miss Julia Drain returned home to Chicago Friday after a few days spent with relatives and friends in this place.
Several of the Yorktown young people attended church at Leon Sunday evening.
Miss Mary Lane is teaching school near Albany . She will be gone two months.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McGrady Sundayed with relatives in Spring Hill.
Arthur Black is the owner of a new buggy.
Mrs. Houchens and son Ralph went to Chicago Thursday, where they will make their future home.
Miss Mabel Mapes arrived here from California the first of the week, for a two months visit with relatives.
Mrs. Horace Booth, who has visited with friends here, went to Prophetstown the first of the week for a visit before returning to her home in Tampico .

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Spath have returned home from a trip of two weeks through the west.

Mrs. Morris Martin and her daughter Miss Bessie of Chicago visited from Wednesday until Sunday in the Henry Mathews home.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Spath were business visitors in Clinton Friday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Reynolds were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Winkler.

The Leon Parent-Teacher Association meeting Friday night was well attended being about 60 persons present.

The Social Advancement Society met Thursday with Mrs. Ray Winkler. Roll call was responded to by each of the 20 ladies present relating some funny schoolday incident. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Glenn Goodell.

Those from Leon who attended the meat cutting and cold storage demonstration in Morrison Friday were Mrs. Dewey Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Saterfield, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Woodworth, Mr. and Mrs. clyde Reynolds, Mrs. Mae Lofgren, Mrs. Frank Howland, fred Lofgren, Mr.a nd Mrs. Raymond Spath and mrs. Ray Winkler.
