Donald Cathelyn to Marlan LeFevre

This morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Tampico, a nuptial high mass was celebrated at nine o’clock by the Rev. Ambrose Weitekamp for Miss Marlan LeFevre, daughter of Mrs. Naomi LeFevre of Deer Grove and Charfles LeFevre of Sterling and Donald Cathelyn. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Poly Cathelyn of Tampico. Bouquets of beautiful flowers were decorations on the altars. The mass, preceded by a short interlude o f nuptial music and the “Bridal Chorus” from “Lohengrin” for the processional, was sung by members of St. Mary’s choir, Mrs. E. M. Rock of DeKalb, aunt of the bride, was soloist and sang Rosewig’s “Ave Maria.” A duet, “Veni Creator” was sung by Mrs. Helen Dawson and Mrs. La Verna Stein. The recessional was Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March.” The attractive young bride was gowned in white satin, the design of which was with a high neckline and marquisette inserts, fitted bodice buttoned in the waistline and long sleeves. A train extended from the hoop skirt of her gown. The bride’s blush veil of illusion fell from a high tiara of seed pearls on her head. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift from the bridegroom, and carried white roses centered by a gardenia corsage. The bride’s hand was given in marriage by her grandfather, W. P. O’Neil. Miss Jo Graff was maid of honor and Miss Marie McKenna was bridesmaid. For the best man the bridegroom chose Tom O’Neil. The ushers were Duane Cathelyn and Robert Croegart, both cousins of the bridegroom. The maid of honor was attired in pink, her dress having a fitted jersey bodice with long full net skirt and short puffed sleeves. An identical dress in blue was worn by the bridesmaid. Their headdresses were wreathlike arrangements of flowers and they carried colonial bouquets.

A wedding breakfast took place at 11 o’clock in the private dining room at Daniels. The two tiered wedding cake, flanked by pink and blue candles, centered the table. Spring flowers further carried out the bride’s colors of pink, blue and white. A large number of relatives and friends w ere invited to the reception at 2:30 o’clock in the home of the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. O’Neil in Deer Grove. Today’s bride is a graduate of Community high school and has since been secretary in the office of Judge R. W. E. Mitchell. The bridegroom attended Tampico high school and is employed by Gonigam, Bass and Hill at Walnut. After a short honeymoon the newlyweds will reside in their home at 607 Eights avenue, Sterling. The out of town wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oester, Mrs. Harry Vestal and Mrs. Roy Roberts of Rockford, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Regan of Kirkland, Mr. and Mrs. R. A.
