RAYMOND GREEN

Raymond Green, 35, of Rock Falls was instantly killed at 10:30 p.m. last night and three other persons were seriously injured in a head on collison of two automobiles on US Route 30 west of route 88 at the junction with the Prophetstown blacktop road. Green was a passenger in his own car which was reported to have been driven by Mrs. Mildred Geise 19, of Rock Falls, the former Mildred Smith of Amboy. She was cut and bruised.

Chester Becker and Darrell Johnson both 17 of Sterling were passengers in the other car driven by the former. They were severely cut and bruised and both were taken to the Sterling hospital. Mrs. Giese, after her injuries were dressed was removed to the Whiteside County jail where she is being held on a charge of driving without an operators license and pending further investigation of the crash. State officers Russell Gentry and Roland Ullrich of Lee Center investigated the accident.

The officers reported that the two Sterling youths were driving west on Route 30 while Mrs. Geise who was driving east turned directly in front of the Sterling car, a terrific head on crash resulting.

Dale Williams 36 of Rock Falls who was seated in his car at the cross roads waiting for traffic to clear, escaped injury when one of the machines involved in the crash struck his car causing minor damage.

Green's body was removed to the Wheelock funeral home at Rock Falls where and inquest was scheduled to be held at noon today after which it will be taken to Tampico.

At the Sterling hospital Mrs. Giese was reported to have stated she had planned to divorce her husband that she might marry the victim of the crash. Later when her husband arrived and she learned that Green had been killed she announced a change in her plans.

Mrs. Agnes Green, Sterling as administrator of the estate of her son Raymond has filed suit in Whiteside County court against Charles Becker. Young Green was killed in an automobile accident in Sterling, October 27, 1947, when a care in which he was riding, driven by Mrs. Mildred Giese and one driven by Charles Becker were involved in a collision. The suit is for $15,000
