SARA (MULLNIX) DALRYMPLE , 43, of Morrison, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Bosma-Renkes, Morrison, is in charge of arrangements. Interment is in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison. She was born Sept. 28, 1963. Surviving are husband, Mike; children, Alyssa and Clay; parents, Dewey and Karen Mulnix, Morrison; sister, Dawn Young, Morrison; brother, Duane Mulnix, Morrison

LESLIE W. DAMON , 82, of Glenview, died Jan.2, 1993, at Mease Hospital in Dunnedin, Fla., after a short illness. Prayer services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Grennan Funeral Home, Sterling, followed by an 11:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Damon was born April 13, 1910, in Mt. Vernon, the son of William and Erie Jane (Palmer) Damon. He was a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and had received a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He married Anne O'Neil. She died April 15, 1983. He had worked at the Chicago Tribune and Bowser, Inc. Company in Chicago where he was vice president of public relations and served on the board of directors. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Glenview. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

MARY (POLLOCK) DAVEY , of Rt. 1, Rock Falls, passed away Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the home of her son, Mont, at the age of 94. Mrs. Davey was born April 7, 1866 in Hume Township, the daughter of Montgomery and Lena Pollock. While she was still a small girl she moved in a covered wagon on the old winding Military Trail (now the Prophetstown Road) west near Fremont, Nebr. Her father and some neighbors built a log school house in which her grandfather, Joseph Pollock, a retired Presbyterian minister was her first school teacher. January 19, 1886, she was united in marriage to George W. Davey of Orleans County, New York. In 1888 they returned to Illinois to live on the same farm and in the same house where she was born. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Sterling. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. G. M. (Lena) Hagey of Pocatello, Idaho; and Miss Roe Davey of Rock Falls; one son, Mont Davey of Rock Falls, with whom she had made her home; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 13 nieces and 12 nephews. She was preceded by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Roy R. (Eva) Webster of Barrackville, W. Va.; brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with Rev. R. A. Kelsey, pastor of First Methodist Church of Sterling, officiating, with burial in Tampico Cemetery, Tampico.

ANNA M. (JOHNSON) DAVIS , 88, former resident of the vicinity, died October 12, 1963 in Lyndon, Kentucky - following an illness of seven months. Visitation was at the Behrens Mortuary, Sterling. Funeral services were held at the mortuary with the Rev. Luther Cooperrider of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Anna M. Johnson was born in Genesee Township, December 13, 1874, the daughter of Henry Bernard and Metta (Eilers) Johnson. She attended schools in the East and was married to Thaddeus M. Davis in her parent’s home. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1943. Mrs. Davis held a life membership in the Harris Missionary Circle of St. John’s Church. Surviving are two sons, LeRoy J. Davis, Sterling, and Claude J. Davis, Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Elwin) Folkers, Louisville, Kentucky; two grandsons, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hannah (Emanuel) Wolber, Emerson; two brothers, Charles F. Johnson of Emerson and Benard Johnson of Sterling.

CLARA J. DAVIS - Funeral Monday of Mrs. Clara Davis. Funeral services for Mrs. Clara J. Davis were conducted by Rev. H. E. Shiffer of the Rock Falls Christian Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Philip H. Davis, son of the deceased, 911 East Third Street, attended by many relatives and friends. Mrs. William Kelsey and Mrs. Sadie Atlins sang favorite hymns of Mrs. Davis and many beautiful floral tributes attested the sympathy of friends. The following performed the service of pallbearers at the interment services in Riverside Cemetery, Earl and Ronald Davis, grandsons of the deceased, Francis Tehan, R. L. Ford, Lee Kauffman and Frank Rossiter. Clair Bailey, nephew, and Mrs. Bessie Carskaden, niece of Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Clair Bailey, all from Batavia were out of town relatives at the funeral. Mrs. Amy Davis Totten, daughter of Mrs. Davis, was unable to come from her home in Tulare, Calif., but hopes to be able to come to Sterling next August.

DOROTHY M. (BAUGHMAN) DAVIS - A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, for Dorothy M. Davis, 68, who died suddenly at Group Hospital, Seattle, Wash., on (Feb. 18, 1985). Memorials in her name have been designated to St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling, and the American Heart Association. Dorothy Davis was born Jan. 2, 1917 in Rock Falls the daughter of Clyde and Charlotte Baughman. She graduated from Milledgeville High School in 1934, and continued her education in nurse's training at Sterling Public Hospital, Cincinnati General Hospital, and Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, where she received her R.N. During 1940-45, she was a Northwest Airlines stewardess, during which time she did research for Mayo CLinic with physiological and psychological reaction to high altitudes. In 1943-44, she also served in an Anglo American hospital in Havana, Cuba. In 1945 she joined the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corp. retiring from the Air Force Reserve in 1975 as a Lt. Colonel. She served as chief nurse in the USAFR at Baltimore, Md. and Hamilton AFT, California, during part of her years in service. While working at Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound, she attended Georgetown University of Washington, D.C. and received her bachelor's degree in public health. In 1963, she received her master's degree in public health at the University of California, Berkeley. She served as the University of Washington's Overseas representative for the Peace Corp in Bolivia, South America. Returning to the states in 1966, she was named chief nurse consultant in the Immigrant Health Section for Region 10, which includes Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Idaho. She was serving in the capacity at the time of her death. She was a member of the Reserve Officers Associaton, Northwest Orchid Society of Seattle, and the Seattle Art Society. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Baughman, Sterling, and one brother, Lloyd, Milledgeville. Preceding her in death was one brother, Earl "Bud" Baughman in 1969.

EVELYN (JONES) DAVIS, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005. She was born May 4, 1911 in Sterling, Illinois to the late Arthur and Nettie Hess (Jones). She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a teaching certificate in 1931 and taught in one-room school houses in Whiteside County in the 1930's until her marriage in 1939. She later returned to NIU to graduate with a BS in Education degree in 1968. She was retired from the Rock Falls School District where she had been an elementary teacher at Dillon School for a number of years. She moved to Little Rock in 1984. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Leo and John Hess, husband Ronald F. Davis and one son Philip A. Davis. She is survived by her sons George (Janine) Davis of Baltimore, Maryland, Fred (Bonnie) Davis of Clayton, Indiana, and Timothy (Marsha) Davis of Sterling, Illinois; daughters, Barbara Tranbarger of San Antonio, Texas, Lynette (Malcolm) Rice of Prairie View, Illinois, Sally Bair and Laurine (Ed) Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and Dr. Delbra Caradine. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or Pulaski County Humane Society. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, Illinois.

FRANK DAVIS - Funeral services for Frank Davis were held at the Tampico Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock following a prayer service at the home. The local pastor, Rev. D. E. Springer, officiated. Two favorite hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me" were sung by a quartet consisting of Allan Curry, Edward Berge, Oscar Wetzell and Arthur Davis. They were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. R. F. Woods. Beautiful floral pieces paid silent tribute in memory of one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of Tampico. They were in charge of Mrs. M. H. Parent, assisted by Mrs. Henry Kolb and Miss Dorothy Cain. Friends acting as pallbearers were Eugene Ruck, L. E. Chapin, Martin Barrett, James Thomas and Roy Nelson of Tampico and Frank Gerber of Hooppole. Burial was in the Tampico Cemetery.

Frank Davis was born Sept. 16, 1854, and departed from this life Oct. 25, 1943, at the advanced age of 89 years. His parents, Isaac Smith Davis, and Jane Belt Davis, came from Ohio in a covered wagon in 1840. His father purchased an 80-acre farm near Lyndon and it was there that Mr. Davis was born. He recieved his early education in the Lyndon shcool, the upstairs of the town hall. He became a member of the Congregational church there while a youth. In 1869 the family moved to Tampico township where Mr. Davis attended the South Hume school and church. This was before the village of Tampico grew up around the new railroad. In 1885 he was married to Sadie Scotchbrook at her home near Morrison. They made their home on a farm in this vicinity for several years. Three children of this union survive him, Beryl of Tampico and Hazel (Mrs. E. E. Black) of Louisville, Ky., and a son Kenneth of Maywood. There are three grandchildren, Betsy Montgomery of Louisville, and Marjorie and Barbara Davis of Maywood. Mrs. Davis and an infant son preceded him in death. His accomplishments were many as fitting one who lived such a rich life. He was in the implement business in Tampico for a time, but his chief business was the betterment of men in church and civic affairs. He was a member of the village board and the school board. Hewas a long time trustee of the Methodist church and a leader in the remodeling of the church. He was also instrumental in building its organization and personnel as assistant superintendent and committee chairman of the Sunday school. He also sang in a male quartet. No man can measure a life like this.

GEORGE WILLIAM DAVIS , 84, passed away at 2:30 a.m. today in his home, 608 Eighth avenue. He had been in failing health for the past year and was bedfast the last four weeks. The body was removed to the Melvin funeral home where funeral rites are to be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, in charge of Rev. A. H. Keck of St. John's Lutheran church. Interment will be in the Riverside memorial mausoleum. Friends may view the body at the funeral home. Mr. Davis was born March 6, 1857, in Clyde township, the son of James and Jane B. Davis, pioneer settlers. He was married Sept. 18, 1884, to Margaret Anna Jones, who preceded him in death seven years ago. Mr. Davis leaves three sons, John M., residing on the home farm and Lee E. and George E. Davis of Sterling. There are seven grandchildren. Mr. Davis retired from active farming in 1915, when he moved to Sterling and had since resided here. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and of Rock River lodge A.F. and A.M.

JAMES LESTER DAVIS - The body of James Lester Davis, four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Davis of Chicago, was brought to Erie Monday evening. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the G. A. Swederus home, with Rev. A. Lincoln Shute, pastor of the M.E. church, officiating. The singers were Evelyn Feaster and Harriet Robinson, with Mrs. Charles Feaster accompanist. The pallbearers were Clifford and Walter Reisenbigler, Walter Miller and Emory Finnicum. Burial was in Erie cemetery. The parents and one sister survive. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were former residents of Erie. Mrs. Davis was formerly Miss Lucile Smith.

JOHN D DAVIS , 69, passed away at the Sterling public hospital at 8:30 o'clock Saturday evening following a stroke at his home, 1309 Fifth avenue Tuesday. The body was taken to the Trouth undertaking parlors where the funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, Dec 26 at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery. Bishop A. C. Good of the East Science Ridge Mennonite church will officiate. Dr. Davis was born Jan 10, 1876 in Hahnaman township and came to Sterling at an early age. He graduated from the Sterling Township high school, following which he enterred a dental office as an assistant. Later he attended the dental college of Northwestern university from which he graduated. He returned to Sterling and established himself in his profession retiring in 1944 because of ill health. He was married to Miss Jennie Kelsey, who passed away Sept 25, 1942. One son, Dr. Paul Davis was born of the union. He died in 1940 at the age of 40. He was married a second time to Bertha Fletcher of Sterling in 1943. She survives him as does a sister Mrs. Jessie Davis of Glen Ellyn. He was precede in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

MILDRED JOYCE (BONNELL) DAVIS , 84, of Springfield, formerly of Champaign, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Heritage Manor in Springfield. She was employed by Chrysler Corp. and by Smith & Manley, Champaign as a real etate agent. Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 30, 1920 in Rock Falls, the daughter of Robert and Nellie (Insley) Bonnell. She married Samuel Cullen Spencer on June 12, 1940. He died April 15, 1963. She then married Douglas S. Davis on March 12, 1966. He died Feb. 19, 1992. She wa a past member of Champaign Country Club and Lincolnshire Fields Country Club. She enjoed ballroom dancing and golf. Survivors include four daughters, Sherry Behnke, Penny Davis, Julie Bristow and Janet Brooks; two sons Art and John; a brother Robert I Bonnell of Rock Falls; an aunt, Viola George of Rock Falls, 13 grandchildren.

THADDEUS McCLELLAN DAVIS , 79, dropped dead suddenly while raking shingles from the front lawn of his home, 1110 Second avenue at 8:30 a.m. today. He was seen by a neighbor lying on the grass and the alarm was given. The body was removed, after having been viewed by Coroner C.M. Frye, to the Trouth funeral home. Funeral arrangements are pending word from his daughter Elwyn Folkers of Pittsburgh, Pa. Mr. Davis was born in Montmorency township, south of Rock Falls on December 16, 1863, son of Dr. R. and Elizabeth H. Davis. He was reared in Montmorency township. He married Miss Anna Johnson of Sterling on July 14, 1897, an the family had lived here continuously since. Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, LeRoy J. Davis of Sterling, and Claude J. Davis of Erie; and by one daughter, Mrs. Elwyn Folkers of Pittsburg, Pa., also by two grandsons, Milton Davis of Erie, and Charles Folkers of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ther is also left his brother, Dr. J. D. Davis of Sterling; and two sisters Mrs. Dora Davis Breach of Sterling, and Miss Jessie L. Davis of Glen Ellyn. Mr. Davis had been a barber in continuous service for the last 53 years in Sterling, maintaining his shop up to the time of his death. Though in failing health for a year or more he was active and at the time of his death was busy at his home. He was a quiet, very likable man and his shop while on Third street, was the scene of many interesting conversations and narratives.

W.H. DAVIS , Jordan, who has been ill for a long time, died at his residence last evening about seven o'clock. The deceased had been a resident of Jordan for many years, and was widely known, not only in the town where he lived but in this city. He had been a sufferer from rheumatism for about a year, and had also been afflicted with a bronchial trouble. The funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow morning at ten o'clock. The remains will be interred in the East Jordan church burial grounds. The deceased was about fifty years of age.

V.M. DEARINGER , 81, of 511 E. High St., Morrison, died (1 Aug 1987) Saturday at Morrison Community Hospital. Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Grove Hill Cemetery here with Rev. Alvin Hook, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. There will be no visitaton. The Genesee Street Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to the First Presbyterian Church of Morrison or the Morrison Community Hospital. Mr. Dearinger was born on April 21, 1906, in Kingsley, Iowa, the son of Harry and Agnes McKee Dearinger. He was reared and educated in Morrison, graduated from Morrison High School and Bradley Universtiy in Peoria. On Sept. 27, 1930, he was united in marriage to Leota M. Carroll in Sterling and she preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 1982. Following marriage the couple lived in Morrison where he owned and operated the Dearinger Insurance Agency. The deceased was a member of the Dunlap Lodge 321 AF & AM, the Tebala Shrine of Rockford, a charter member of the Morrison Country Club, a 25 year member of the Morrison Fire Department, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, and a secretary for the Whiteside County Fair for more than 25 years. He also served as Whiteside County Treasurer for many years. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Audrey) Akerly of Westfield, N.J.; one son, William of Arlington Heights; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sisters.

MARJORIE (LINDBERG) DeMAY ,89, of 1103 12th Ave., Rock Falls, formerly of Prophetstown, died Friday, Feb. 16, 1996 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were completed by Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown. A memorial has been established for the "Make a Wish" Foundation. Mrs. DeMay was born Oct. 11, 1906 in Geneseo, the daughter of Luther and Grace (Whitecomb) Lindberg. She married Alphonse DeMay on Feb. 23, 1924, in Dixon. He died in 1971. She was educated in Prophetstown schools. She was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, Prophetstown. She enjoyed being a homemaker. Survivors incude eight daughters, Pat (Jim) Krause and Louise (Ed) Franks, both of Geneseo, Mary Roman of Waunakee, Wis., Shirley (Ellery) Johnson of Chadwick, Jackie Denton of Crescent, Iowa, Judy James of Morrison, Kathy (Claude) Davidson of Colleyville, Texas, and Sally (Michael) Hendricks of Rock Falls; four sons, Gilbert (Dorothy) DeMay of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Marvin DeMay and Kent (Susan) DeMay, both of Prophetstown, and Gene (Dorothy) DeMay of Morrison; 36 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Marcella Curry of Rock Falls, and Vera Carroll of Throckmorton, Texas; and two brothers, Theodore (Mutt) Lindberg of Prophetstown and Fred Lindberg of Conrad, Mont. JENNIE (DEAN) DETER , 75, 405 N. Bay St., died Saturday at 7 p.m. in Morrison Community Hospital where she had been a patient since July 17. Mrs. Andrew (Jennie) Deter was born July 1, 1888, the daughter of Joel H. and Eliza (Ellison) Dean in Morrison. She was reared and educated in the Morrison area. She married Andrew Deter on June 15, 1911 in Morrison. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church and the WCTU at Morrison. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Charlotte Mae at home and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mrs. Bessie Andreas and a nephew. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Klosterman officiating. Prayer services will precede in the church basement at 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reynolds Funeral Home this evening after 7 p.m.

MARIE K. (PRATZNER) DETER , 87, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL. Marie was born September 6, 1919 in Egg Harbor City, NJ, to Louis and Theresa (Rundio) Pratzner. She was educated in St. Nicholas Grade School and attended Egg Harbor City High School. She married John Deter on April 14, 1944 in Fort Campbell, KY. He died September 29, 1992. She was employed by Climco and later by General Electric both in Morrison. Marie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morrison and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member and historian of the Morrison Women's Club. She had served as a Cub Scout and Brownie Leader and as a Room Mother at school. She enjoyed making quilts, afghans, and was an accomplished seamstress. Survivors include a daughter, Paula (Mrs. Peter) Romanow of Aurora, IL; three sons, David Deter, Tim (Lynn) Deter, and Ted (Judy) Deter all of Morrison; ten grandchildren, Cher (Bill) Ousley, Lara (Mark) Pertile, Jeffrey Romanow, Tonya Romanow, Denise (Antony) Deter, Scott Deter, Jessica (Luke) Ellicott, Darci (Jon) Paisley, Molly (Kevin) Reimer, and Benjamin Deter; six great grandchildren; and one brother, George (Jane) Pratzner of Mays Landing, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; four sisters, her twin, Ann, Lillian, and two in infancy; four brothers, Joe, Louis, Steve, and Frank Pratzner.

CLARENCE R. DEUSCH , 68 OF 1310 E. 15th St., Sterling, died Sunday in his home following an extended illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Grennan Funeral Home with Rev. H. C. Hatton, pastor of the First church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park with full military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Deusch was retired from A. E. Bogett and Sons and was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Pat, one daughter, Nancy, of Rock Falls, and one brother Lawrence of Florida.

MILDRED E. (McRAE) DEVORE , 79, of 302 Booth St., Tampico, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996 in Swedish Ameerican Hospital, Rockford. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. A memorial has been established for the Tampico Church of Christ. Mrs. Devore was born Oct. 31, 1916, in Wymore, Neb., the daughter of Melvin and Elenore (Rowlins) McRae. She married Clarke Devore on Aug. 21, 1938., in Bayard, Neb. She was an active member of the Tampico Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. LOUIS DeWEERDT , age 84, passed away at East Moline hospital. He was a retired CNW maintenance man. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Bosma Funeral Home, Saturday, with the Rev. Robert Vander Schaaf officiating. Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery. He was born June 17, 1885 in E. Clinton, the son of John and Helen DeWeerdt. He married Jennie Bolt. She preceded him in death. PEARL (SMITH) DITTMAN , 84, of the St. Joseph's Home for Aged in Freeport, died at the home Friday. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Baileyville Baptist Church in Baileyville with Rev. Nelson F. Hadley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. Visitation is today at Walker Mortuary in Freeport from 6-8 p.m. A memorial has been established. She was born March 28, 1904 in Hazzard County, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Thericha Kampen Smith. She married Rev. Andrew L. Dittman on May 24, 1924 in Loda. She was an ordained minister in the National Associated Church of God and worked with her husband in the Rock Falls area. Together, they raised 75 foster children. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Rosalie) Boyer of Freeport, Faye Marie Lee of Rockford; one sister, Mrs. Dale (Mary) Hanna of Indiana; one brother, Leander Smith of Chicago; 22 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, two sisters, four brothers, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

FREDERICK D. DOBBEKE - 58, of Box 28 Hub Street, Deer Grove, died Aug. 20, 1992 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. Prayer services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, with the Rev. Vincent J. Shindelar, pastor, officating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established. Mr. Dobbeke was born Nov. 8, 1933 in Ohio, the son of Otto and Olive (Foltz) Dobbeke. He married Clara Heeren April 11, 1953, at St. Mary Church, Tampico. He was employed as a crane operator at the Northwestern Steel and Wire 14-inch mill for the past 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tampico, the Men's Club of the church, and the Steelworkers of America. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Frank (Kathleen) Yaklich of Rock Falls, Mrs. Steven (Pamela) Tobler of Rochelle, Julie Partridge Dobbeke of Sterling, Mrs. Michael (Laurie) McCulloch of Liberty, Mo., Mrs. Lewis (Cheryl) Howell of Vista, Calif., Mrs. James (Margery) Crawford of Grandview, Mo., and Mrs. Ted (Angela) Reiter of Sandy Creek, N.Y.; one son, Timothy of Deer Grove; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Harm (Freda) Ludwig of Prophetstown; two brothers, Otto Jr. of Tampico and Arthur of Wichita, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. EDWIN J. DOLAN - Funeral services for Edwin J. Dolan, 68, former member of the Albany Village Board, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Albany. Burial will be in Lusk. SARAH J. (ENGELKENS) DOLLINGER , 84, of Morrison, died Thursday at Morrison Community Hospital. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Fenton Cemetery in Fenton, Ill., with Pastor Michael McCloud, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Fulton, Ill., officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in the Fenton Cemetery. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Como, Ill., to Ikey and Sarah J. (Peoples) Engelkens. On Oct. 15, 1949, she married Warren W. Dollinger in Dubuque. She was educated in Round Grove School in rural Whiteside County. She lived in Morrison for 35 years. Warren was born in Carroll County, IL, to Ernest and Ora (Mertz) Dollinger. He married Sarah J. Engelkens on October 15, 1949, in Dubuque, IA. She died April 8, 2004. Warren was a member of the Fulton Saddle Club. ARLETA (WOOD)DORNBUSH , 97, of Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton, IA, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at the nursing home. Arleta was born October 8, 1910 in Albany, IL, to William E. and Anna E. (Smith) Wood. She attended Albany Grade and High Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL and Mount St. Clair College in Clinton, IA. Arleta married Kenneth C. Dornbush on September 24, 1938 in Chicago, IL. He died October 15, 1960. She taught in the rural Whiteside County School system and later in the Albany Grade School. She and her husband owned and operated the Dornbush Hardware Store in Albany. She later was employed by the United States Post Office in Albany as Postmistress, retiring in 1976. Arleta was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Easter Star, Albany Chapter. She had served as treasurer for the local chapter of the American Red Cross. She was known for singing with her sister at funeral services. Arleta was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan and her family was very important to her. Survivors include three daughters, Sally (Arnold) Wiebenga of Fulton, IL; Mary (James) Damhoff and Cindy (Randy) Van Zuiden both of Albany, IL; one son, William (Nancy) Dornbush of Rockford, IL; eleven grandchildren, Dawn (Dean) Petrie, Susan (Joel) Quiram, Terry Wiebenga, Tanya Herringer, Tara Damhoff, Torrie (Chad) Zambon, Mitch (Nicole) Van Zuiden, Karla Van Zuiden, Matthew (Beth) Dornbush, Scott (Lindsey) Dornbush, and Christopher Dornbush; seven great grandchildren; nephews, Richard (Sharon) Wood and Vernon (Diane) Dornbush. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Virginia Dornbush in infancy; one sister, Sarah Dolan, and one brother, Robert Wood.

ETTA M. DOWNEY , 85, of 1418 Oakland, Sycamore Hills, Mo., who died at her home early Wednesday. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Lamar, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Rock Falls, officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery in Rock Falls. Mrs. Wayne E Larson played the organ for the service while Lyle Dirks Sang. Pallbearers were: Harold E. Downey Jr., James R Downey, Roy Shafer, Harold Shafer, Robert Solomon and David Bell. FRANK DRONENBERG , 91, died Tuesday evening ( 31 Jan 1967) at the Morrison Public Hospital. Mr. Dronenberg was born at Odell, Ill., on March 12, 1875, the son of Robert H. and Susan (Davis) Dronenberg. He received his education in Odell and Valparaiso, Ind., schools. He married Lillian Ida Bronson on June 9, 1897 in Odell. They moved to the Tampico area in 1899 and farmed there until 1950, when they moved to Prophetstown. Mr. Dronenberg had seved as a member of the board of the Tampico Cemetery for many years and he served as a school board member. He was road commissioner and assessor of Fairfield Township and served as Elder of the Tampico Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Harold, Lake Odessa, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Berna) Winchell, rural Prophetstown; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, George, Odell; and Ralph, Prophetstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1961, two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Nina) Bingenheimer, and one in infancy. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Tampico Church of Christ. The Rev. David DeFor will officiate. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. She was born Nov. 7, 1916 in Thomas, West Virginia, the daughter of Don and Clara (Jurzezak) Lasota. She married Raymond Duerst, May 7, 1938 at St. Bonifice Church, Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1968. She worked at National Manufacturing for 13 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and active in the FISH organization. Surviving are two sons, Stephen and Dennis, Sterling; one daughter, Sheila Duerst, Sterling; four brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Charles of Chicago, and Walter, Milwaukee, Wis.; three sisters, Virginia Strzmeiczny, Jeanette Korah and Nellie Benedetto, all of Chicago, and three grandchildren.

ELOISE V. (BACON) DUSING , 90 died Wednesday August 16, 2006 at Polo Continental Manor Nursing Home. She was born on April 15, 1916 in Oregon, IL the daughter of Lisle and Esta (Eckard) Bacon. She married Albert William Dusing June 14, 1937 in Valparaiso, IN. He died January 21, 1990. She had worked as a CNA at the former Savanna Hospital. Surviving is her daughter Donna (Fred) Johnson of Rockford; four sons Gary Dusing, not of the area, Mark (Dorothy) Dusing of Polo, Craig (Kaye) Dusing of Milledgeville and Bruce (Kathleen) Dusing of DeKalb; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her sister. Graveside services will be held on Friday August 18, 2006 at 1 PM in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling with the Reverend Rick Koch officiating.
