GRACE (RABARGE) GALBRAITH
, 76, of 1442 Maryview Lane, Hibbing, Minn., died Saturday (24 January 1987) at Community Geneeal Hospital in Sterling. Memorial services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Minn., with Rev. John Degelau officiating. Melvin Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Galbraith was born on Sept. 22, 1910 in Harvey, N.D., the daughter of Victor and Anna Nelson Robarge. On Aug 26, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ralph Galbraith in Thief River Falls, Minn., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1986. Mrs. Galbraith was owner of the R&G Variety Store in Hibbing from 1952-1973 and Harts Grocery Store in Grygla, Minn., from 1946-1952. The deceased was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing, the ALCW of the Church and a member of the Thief River Falls Drum & Bugle Corp many year ago. Survivors include one son, John Galbraith of Sterling; two brothers, Robert Robarge of Thief River Falls, Minn., and John Robarge of Pengilly, Minn., two sisters, Eva Lendobeja of Thief River Falls, Minn., and Dorothy Rambeck of Glenwood, Minn., also two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
ADDIE IRENE GALLENTINE
, passed away at 10i;45 p.m. Sunday (10 Jul 1960) following an extended illness. She made her home at 507 6th Ave., Sterling.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Melvin Funeral Home with Rev. Romaine W. Tenney, pastor of the Trinity EUB Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cmemetery near Prophetstown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.
She was born Oct. 22, 1900 in Whiteside County, the daughter of Elwood and Jennie Franks Gallentine. A resident of this community her entire life, she was an active member of the Trinity EUB Church of Sterling. A memorial in the church has been established in her name.
Surviving are two brothers, Clifford E. Gallentine, Mt. Carroll and George D. Gallentine, Prophetstown; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Brandt, and Mrs. Harold Heller, both of Sterling, and Mrs. Elmer Tanner, Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
EDWOOD GALLENTINE
, passed away Sunday morning at 12:45 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Brandt, of 507 Sixth Avenue, with whom he had been making his home for several months. Death was the result of an illness extending over a period of several years. The body was removed to the Melvin Funeral Home where it may be viewed by friends. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2. Rev. John R. Bouldin, pastor of Trinity Evangelical church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Leon Cemetery, southeast of Prophetstown. Elwood Gallentine was born Feb. 6, 1868, near Deer Grove. He was educated in the schools of that place. July 4, 1891, he was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Mae Franks at Morrison. They assisted his parents on their farm for a period of four years and then went to farming for themselves on a farm south of Prophetstown. They farmed for more than 40 years around Prophetstown, Hillsdale and Cordova, retiring eight years ago while farming near Cordova and moved to this city. His wife passed away March 17, 1934, and since that time he had resided with his children, spending some time with each of them at their respective homes. Throughout his illness, Mr. Gallentine was a patient sufferer and very appreciative of every attention shown him by his children and friends. He was a man who lived by the Golden Rule, and was ever ready to do for others to the fullest extent of his ability and talents. Mr. Gallentine was the last of a family of seven children. He was preceded in death by his wife and two children, Earl Edward and Pansy Darlene. He is survived by six children, Mrs. Bertha Brandt, Addie Gallentine, Mrs. Harold Heller and George Gallentine, all of this city. Mrs. Elmer Tanner of Hillsdale and Clifford Gallentine of Garden Plain. Nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
JENNIE (FRANKS) GALLENTINE
, aged 63 years, passed away at her home, 111 Fifteenth Avenue, this morning (17 Mar 1934) at 8:20 o'clock. Death was caused by pneumonia, which she contracted about a week ago. The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the late home. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
Mrs. Gallentine and family moved here about six weeks ago from a farm near Albany, where they had farmed over a period of many years. For more than 20 years she had suffered from rheumatism, but was ever patient. She never complained and was always appreciative of every attention paid to her. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and was already to do what she could for the members of her family and her many friends. Her patience and cheerfulness were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Frank Brant and Mrs. Harold Heller of Rock Falls, Mrs. Elmer Tanner of Hillsdale, Clifford Gallentine, Sterling, George and Addie Gallentine at home. Three brothers, Lett Franks of Hillsdale, Taylor Franks of Beaumont, Kans., and Ed Frank of Albany, and two sisters, Mrs. M. M. Warner of this city and Mrs. Levi Swan of Moline.
RICK G. GALLENTINE
, 57, of 512 Oakland Avenue, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Galesburg Terrace Nursing Home, Galesburg, IL.
Rick was born November 3, 1952, in Morrison, IL, to Lloyd and Lorna M. (Williams) Gallentine. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and attended Morrison High School. Rick was employed by Nestle Purina Company in Clinton, IA. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan.
Survivors include two sisters, Sharon Irion of Morrison, IL and Janice Wilson of Clinton, IA; one brother, Lloyd (Ruth Ann) Gallentine Jr. of Princeton, IL.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pat Olson and three in infancy; one brother, Larry Gallentine.

- Funeral services were conducted by the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling for Mr. James R. Galloway, age 76, of 25 W. 3rd St., Sterling, who died Friday morning in Community General Hospital. Funeral services were held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Ross Bateman, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church of Rock Falls officiated. Burial in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
Mrs. Roscoe Eades played the organ for the service, while Mrs. Henry Rodriquez sang "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Chris Young, Bud Moore, Jim Galloway and Jim Robinson.
HARIETTE (GLASSBURN) GARLAND
- Funeral rites were conducted this Tuesday morning for Mrs. Gordon (Harriette) Garland, 46, of Shore Acres, Rock Falls, who died at 10 a.m. Sunday ( 01 Sep 1968) in her home after an extended illness. A rosary was said at 8 p.m. Monday in the Grennan and Son Funeral Home where the prayer service was held at 9. a.m. There was a requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rock Falls. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery at Tampico. Mrs. Garland was born Jan. 26, 1922 in Tampico, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Glassburn. She was united in marriage to Gordon Garland Sept. 23, 1940 in Tampico by the Rev. A. Weitekamp. She had spent her entire liefetime in this vicinity. She was a member of St. Andrew's Church and of the Altar and Rosary Society, Rock Falls. Surviving with the husband are three daughters at home, Georgianne, Mary Sue and Rita Rae. Mrs. Garland also leaves two sisters, Miss Vida Glassburn of Rock Falls and Miss Marianne Glassburn of DeKalb.
OLIE (JUDD) GALLENTINE
, 509 W. 7th St., Rock Falls, died Sunday afternoon (21 May 1972) in Community General Hospital. The body was moved to the Melvin Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.. Tuesday in the Melvin Funeral Home. The Rev. David Fouts, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sterling, will officiate and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Galletine was born Aug. 6, 1919 at Round Grove, the daughter of Charles and Grace Brown Judd. She had resided in this area her entire life and was educated in the Rock Falls Public Schools. She was married to Delbert Gallentine, Jr., Sept. 2, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Wayne Gallentine of Sterling and Edward Gallentine at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Pat) Keefe and Mrs. Roger (Linda Halloway of Rock Falls; two brothers, Ben Judd of Rock Falls and Louis Judd of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six grandchildren and two sisters not of this area.
ED GARRISON
, 75 year old Morrison resident, died suddenly shortly before noon Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1946 while sitting in the Pape and Wollesen tavern here. He had been in ill health for about 14 years, but his death came suddenly from a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at the Reynolds funeral home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. C.H. Becker, pastor of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Mr. Garrison had entered the tavern a few minutes before his death and sat down in a chair to rest. He passed away quietly.Sheriff Charles Westendorf was called and Deputy Boyd Kimmel went to the tavern to assist. Ed Garrison was born in Waupon, Wis., May 5, 1870. He was married April 7, 1903 to Lillie Welch who survives. For many years he was engaged in the upholstery trade, retiring about 15 years ago. He is survived by one son, Harry Garrison of Morrison, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He also is survived by three stepchildren, Mrs. Myrtle Shepard, Floyd Welch, and Leo Welch, all of Morrison. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ivy Wulf, and a stepson, Frank Welch
HARRY GARRISON
, 67, retired superintendant of Grove Hill Cemetery, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1973 at 9 a.m. in his home at 411 East North Street. The funeral was held today at 2 p.m. at the Reynolds funeral home. The Rev. Dr. H.J. Rendall officiated. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery. Mr. Garrison had worked for the city of Morrison 50 years on his retirement April 30, 1971. His service began when he was a youth. On Aug. 5 1942 he was made cemetery superintendant. At the city council meeting of May 13, 1970 he received a letter of commendation and a purse of money from individuals and business firms in appreciation of his services. The son of Edward and Lilly Roberts Garrison, he was born April 27, 1905 in Morrison. He married Lucille Kemmer here on Dec. 8, 1926. Survivors include his wife; Lucille, a daughter Mrs. Robert (Ivy) Pearson of Oregon, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Preston (Myrtle) Shepard of Morrison; 3 grandchildren, Mrs. William (Lea) Mongan, Mrs. Steve (Ann) Long and Robert (Virginia) Pearson Jr. of Oregon, Ill. and 4 great grandchildren. His parents, brothers, Frank, Floyd and and Leo Garrison, a sister, Ivy Wulf and an infant daughter are deceased. Pallbearers for the funeral were Richard Williams, Ronnie Given, Woody Whitemore, Bill Reynolds, Gordon Millershone and Louis Betts Sr. Mrs. John (Dorothy Mae) Tiesman and Mrs. Bill (Joyce) Blair Sr. were in charge of flowers. Mrs. Abe Renkes was the organist.
LILLIE BELLE (ROBERTS) WELCH GARRISON
, 80, died at her home here about 7 o'clock Friday evening Aug. 23, 1946 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Reynolds funeral home, and burial will be made in Grove Hill Cemetery. She was born 1866 in Henry county, the daughter of Nelson and Martha Roberts, and married Fred Welch, who died in 1901. On April 7, 1903 she married Edward Garrison, who passed away Feb. 15, 1946. She is survived by two sons, Harry Garrison and Floyd Welch; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Shepard all of Morrison; half brother, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Frank and Leo Welch, and a daughter, Mrs. Ivy Wulf.
LUCILLE (KEMMER) GARRISON
, 64, 411 E. North St., passed away Monday, Jan. 13. 1975 at 8:30 a.m. in Morrison Community Hospital. Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Renkes-Reynolds Funeral Home and funeral services were conducted there Wednesday (today) at 2 p.m. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery. Rev. Merrill Davis of Oregon was the officiating pastor and Mrs. Abe Renkes was organist. Pallbearers were Ray Scudder, Richard A. Williams, Ronnie Given, Woodrow Whitemore, Gordon Millershone and Louis Betts Sr. Mrs. John (Dorothy Mae) Tiesman and Mrs. William (Joyce) Blair were in charge of flowers. Lucille Kemmer was born Feb. 10, 1911 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Gottlieb and Lena Pilgrim Kemmer. She had been a resident of Morrison since 1920 and was married in this city Dec. 8, 1926 to Harry Garrison who passed away Jan. 6, 1973. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert ( Ivy) Pearson, Oregon, Ill.; one brother Chester L. Kemmer of Morrison; three grandchildren; Mrs. William (Lea) Mongan, Mrs. Steve (Ann) Long and Robert (Virginia)Pearson Jr. of Oregon, Ill.; four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, her parents, two sisters and six brothers.
JOSEPHINE (BLACKBURN) GEHANT
- West Brooklyn: - Funeral services for Mrs. Oliver L. Gehant, 62, who died Sunday at her home, will be Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Church, West Brooklyn. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Walter Kaps, Peoria, and Mrs. Nicholas Kellen, Dixon; four brothers, John and Edward, both of Harmon, and Tom and Peter, both of Franklin Grove; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Dempsey, Mrs. Elizabeth O'Malley, and Miss Gertrude Blackburn, all of Dixon, Mrs. Edwin McCoy, Harmon, and five grandchildren. Mrs. Gehant, the former Josephine Blackburn, was born June 25, 1891, the daughter of Peter and Ellen Morrisey Blackburn. She married Oliver Gehant on Oct. 4, 1911.
HELEN I. GEIBEL
, age 89, of 2403 E. 19th Street, Apt. 209, Sterling, died Tuesday August 18, 1998 in Lincoln Nebraska. Mrs. Geibel was born Oct. 16, 1909 in Sterling, the daughter of Richard T. and Elen M. (Morrisey) Hurley. She was united in marriage to Francis J. Geibel on May 22, 1926 in Sterling. He preceded her on February 3, 1973. She was employed as a welder at International Harvester for over 10 years. She worked at Franz Manufacturing in Sterling for a number of years and also worked at Dr. Boggard DDS office for a number of years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Sterling. She enjoyed her family and friends and was a great conversationalist. She was a great BINGO player and an avid reader. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Beverly Norman of LIncoln Nebraska, and Mrs. Mary Pat (Eugene) Summers of Sterling; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, her husband Francis, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and 1 grandson. A memorial has been established to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Sterling.
ANNA LOUISE (HARMS) GEIDNER
, 49, wife of Clarence W. Geidner, formerly of Rock Falls, passed away Saturday at 1 p.m. at the family home, 154 West North Avenue, in Chicago. She submitted to a major operation last July in Chicago, but gradually declined. Mr. Geidner was located at Davenport, Ia., on his bus and he returned to Chicago on receiving the news.
The body was brought to Rock Falls overland by Wheelock's and taken to the Wheelock Funeral Home, from whence the funeral will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Harry E. Shiffer, pastor of the Rock Falls Christian Church, officiating. The committal will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, north of Sterling on Route 83.
Mrs. Geidner was born March 26, 1902 in Montmorency Township, a daughter of John and Anna Harms.
She received her education in the district schools and was married to Clarence W. Geidner in Walnut on February 21, 1933. The couple went to Chicago to make their home in 1933. Mr. Geidner being employed by the Greyhound Bus Lines.
Survivors besides the husband are her mother, Mrs. Anna Harms, of Rock Falls, and the following brothers and sisters: Rudolph S. Harms, Walter, Fred and John Harms, all of Rock Falls, Carl Harms of Deer Grove and Henry Harms of Dixon, Mont.; Mrs. Hulda Saathof of Round Grove, and Mrs. Margaret Billman of Canton, O. A sister, Rena and a brother, Albert, preceded her in death.
DELLORA GEIDNER
, age 77, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, July
30, 2000 at the CGH Medical Center, Sterling.

Dellora Geidner was born on November 18, 1922 the
daughter of Herman and Lydia (Cordes) Schwarz in
Fessenden. North Dakota. After moving to Illinois in 1935,
she married Andrew Calsyn in May of 1940 He preceded her
in death in November of 1959. She then married Charles
Geidner in February 1962. He also preceded her in death in
December 1962. Dellora worked in the Rock Falls Utility
office until 1993 She then served for several years as the
Rock Falls City Treasurer from 1993 until retirement in 1997
She was a member of the Good Sheperd Lutheran Church and
OWLS Dellora also volunteered at the CLS Thrift Shop in
Rock Falls. In her leisure time, Dellora enjoyed cooking and
spending time with her family.
Survivors include 4 sons. Lee (Janelle) Calsyn of Glendale.

FRANK GETTING
, Rt. 1, Sterling, a prominent farmer in this community died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday in his home. Death came following an extended illness.
The body was removed to the Melvin Funeral Home where friends may call at any time. Final rites will be conducted in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Loval M. Wilkinson, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Sterling. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr, Geeting was born Feb 27, 1887 in Sterling, a son of Charles Y and ---eta Powell Geeting. He was a lifelong resident of this community. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sterling, Rotary Club, an honorary member of the Future Farmers of America of Rock Falls, Lodge No. 612 AF & AM and of the Knights Templar.
He was married to Ethel M. Shaw March 3, 1917 in Oregon, Ill. Surviving him are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sue) Hamm, Warsaw, Ind., two sons, Lyle P. Geeting, Morrison, and Wayne W. Geeting, Sterling; nine grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
ALVE GIRARDI
, 81, of 505 West 11th St., Rock Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996 at his home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with a Mass of the Christian Burial with the Rev. Thomas Dzielak, pastor officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral home, Rock Falls. Mr. Girardi was born Sept. 9, 1914 in Rock Falls, the son of Frank and Nellie (Sabella) Girardi. He married Gertrude Grauvogl in November 1936. He was employed as an automobile investigator with the State of Illinois Secretary of States office for several years. Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Judy) Girardi of Rock Falls; two grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Pennington of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother in infancy.
GERTRUDE (GRAUVOGL) GIRARDI
, 78, of 505 West 11th St., Rock Falls, died Thursday, Jan 4, 1996 at her home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with a Mass of the Christian Burial with the Rev. Thomas Dzielak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements were completed by mcDonald Funeral Home.
Mrs. Girardi was born March 19, 1917 in Rozellville, Wis., the daughter of Joseph and Annie (Brechtel) Grauvogl. She married Alve Girardi in November 1936.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Judy) Girardi of Rock Falls; two grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille (Frank) Romanski, Dorothy Romanski, and Dolly Geise all of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Winnie (Pete) Engledinger of Milwaukee, Wis.; and one brother, Alvin (Marian) Grauvogl of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

- Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral home on Friday for Mrs. Marcia Glass of Rt. 2, Rock Falls, who passed away Tuesday morning, (19 Sep 1961) Rev. Ridell A. Kelsey of the First Methodist Church of Sterling, officiating, with burial in Riverside Cemetery at Prophetstown. Mrs. Wayne E. Larson was at the organ with Herman Oltman singing Someday We'll Understand and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.
Pallbearers were all grandsons. They were Ronald Glass, Robert Schobinger, Robert Ellis, Edward Burkhardt, John Burkardt and Llewellyn Meenen. Flowers were taken care of by Mrs. Dick McFalls and Mrs. Robert Gaulrapp. Out of town relatives attended from New Brighton, Minn., Whiting, Ind., Savanna, Freeport, West Brooklyn, Lee Center, Boulder, Colo., Columbus, Miss., Nelson and Rockford.
MAUDE A. GOHLSON
- Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Funeral Home for Mrs. Maude A. Gholson of 1810 18th Ave., Sterling, who died Monday. H. T. Gregerson of the Hehovah Witnesses, Kingdom Hall, officiated at the seervices with burial in Round Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Roscoe Eades was at the organ during the services. Pallbearers were Gerald Gholson, Fred Gholson, James McGee Jr., Charles Gholson, Lawrence Gholson and Willis Gholson, all grandsons of Mrs. Gholson.
KATHRYN (HUCKABA) GOINS
, 83, of Deer Grove, formerly of Rock Falls , died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at her daughter’s home after an extended illness. She was employed by General Electric, Morrison, for more than 23 years. Mrs. Goins was born June 23, 1924, in Steele , Mo. , the daughter of Lee and Pearl (Foster) Huckaba. She married Cecil Goins on Feb. 2, 1953, in Clay , Ark. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Young of Deer Grove; a sister, Linda (Ray) Trout of Broseley, Mo. ; two brothers, Orville (Chestine) Huckaba of Rock Falls and Eugene Huckaba of Campbell, Mo.; five grandchildren, Dawn (Randy Schauff) Greer, Tonya Glassburn, Stacie (Craig) Arthurs, Robbie (Amy) Young and Shannon (Matt) Mattingly; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; for step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls , with the Rev. Jason Borton officiating. GLENN GOODELL
- Funeral services for Glenn Goodell, age 69, who passed away Wednesday at Rochester, Minn., were held at the Leon Methodist Church Saturday, Dec. 30, at one-thirty in the afternoon.
The Rev. Preston Woods officiated for the services with Mrs. Roy Goembel serving as the organist and Jim Duling as the solist.
Serving as pallbearers were Francis Norway, Raymond Lindskog, Phillip Oetzel, Paul Lane, Loren Matthews and Ralph Winkler. Committal was in the Leon Cemetery.
In charge of the beautiful floral tributes were Mrs. Ray Winkler, Mrs. Ray Lindskog, Mrs. Philip Oetzel, Mrs. Paul Lane and the Hill Crest Greehouse.
A memorial has also been established in the late Glenn Goodell name for the Leon Methodist Church.
REVA (GIPSON) GOODNER
, 63, passed away at Community Hospital, Morrison, early Thursday (today). Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Schilling Funeral Home, Erie, with the Rev. Dale Erickson of the Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. Reva Gipson was born Feb. 11, 1906, in Sheridan, Ind., the daughter of Henry and Lola May Gipson. She married Everett Goodner June 4, 1921, in Noblesville, Ind. They had lived at Cordova before coming to Erie eight years ago. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Donald Massey, Amboy; Mrs. Frank Carton, Chicago; seven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Wilbur and Ray Gipson, both of Sheridan, Ind. Friends may call at the Schilling Funeral Home Friday afternoon and until time of services.

- Funeral services for Albert E. Gorzney were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Greenan and Son Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, with the pastor, The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas S. , 85, of Fenton, Ill., died Friday, July 21, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital, Bartlett, Tenn.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Fenton United Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial will be in Fenton Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Memorials may to the church.
Mr. Graham was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Albany, the son of John and Lucile Barnett Graham. He married Lois Meyer on July 19, 1944, in Morrison. She died on October 25, 1997.
Everett served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II as a waist gunner on a B-24 airplane. He flew in 22 missions over Europe.
He had been a farmer and retired from Deere Harvester, East Moline in 1985 after 21 years of service. He lived on the family farm for over 60 years.
Everett was a member of the Denton Schreiner American Legion, Erie, the Whiteside County Farm Bureau, and the Erie Senior Citizens. Everett was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Kenny Tegeler, Fenton, Jodi and Paul Schersand, Arlington, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Phyllis Graham, Fenton, Jon and Connie Graham, Geneseo and Jeffrey and Charlene Graham, Erie; 11 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a sister, Vada Drury, Morrison; a brother-in-law, Delbert Slaymaker, Erie. HOWARD DANIEL GRAHAM
, Funeral services of the late Howard Graham, former resident of this place, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Baptist church and interment made in the Tampico Cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. S. L. Cobb, pastor of the church, and the Masonic Order, who attended in a body, had charge of the services at the grave. Mesdames H. W. and N. E. Denison, with Miss Vesta Denison as accompanist, sang several selections, and Messrs. J. J. Olsson, J. H. Cooley, W. N. Smith, F. A. Brewer, W. F. Harris and R. E. McKenzie acted as pall bearers.
Mr. Graham was taken ill several weeks ago with an attack of flu, which with other complications caused his death at the hospital at Sioux City, Iowa, at about 2:40 o'clock Saturday morning, March 17, 1923. The remains were brot (sic brought) here Tuesday morning and taken to the home of Mrs. Irene Emmons, where they reposed until the funeral.
Howard Daniel Graham was born in West Brooklyn, Ill., September 12, 1886. He worked on a farm until at the age of 20 years he took up railroad work for the Burlington at Arlington, Ill. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Rose Emmons on June 29, 1910. To this union three children were born who, with his widow, still survive. They are Chester, aged 10, Mervyn Edwin, aged 8, and Darrell, aged 6 years. Those who survived him in addition to his family are his father, Morris Graham of Dixon, two sisters, Mrs. Will Smith of Kewanee, Mrs. Jas. Buchanan of Dixon, one brother, Emmett of Rochelle, five nieces and one nephew. His mother preceded him in death nine years ago. He moved to Whiting, Iowa, in October, 1912, and worked for the Northwestern railroad at Sargents Bluffs, Whiting, Stanhope, Modale and Danbury, where he was agent for the past eight years.
He confessed Christ at the age of 12 with his Sunday School class at West Brooklyn, Ill., and was an attendant at the church at Danbury. He was a member of the Masonic and Eastern Star orders and also of the Mystic Workers.
PEARL (LUNING) GRAU
, 83, passed away Thursday morning (8 Feb 1968) at the Morrison Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown, the Rev. Preston Woods officiating with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening. Pearl Grau was born March 4, 1884 in Dana, the daughter of William and Mary (Anthony) Luning. She lived in Erie, Lyndon and Prophetstown communities and was educated in the Dana County schools. She married Bernard Grau of Flannigan on Oct. 5 1904, in Pontiac. They lived at Dana for 18 years, moving to Whiteside County in 1923. She is survived by two sons, John and Lester Grau, both of Morrison; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Ethel) Lindskog of Prophetstown; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two brothers and six sisters
ROBERT J. GROH
, 85, of Goshen, IN, formerly of Clinton, IA, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Greencroft Nursing Home in Goshen.
Bob was born September 18, 1921 in Clinton, IA, to Fred and Pearl (Jordan) Groh. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County IL schools. He married Marian E. Rummel on April 24, 1942 in Garden Plain, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bob worked at Case Co. in Bettendorf, IA and he also farmed in the Morrison area for 12 years. He then owned and operated Bob's Conoco Service Station in Clinton, IA for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He and his wife moved to Goshen, IN in 2003. He was a charter member of the American Legion Hanson-Kennedy Post 1079 in Albany, IL, and a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 9664 in Camanche, IA. Bob enjoyed skeet shooting.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; two daughters, Marla (Curt) Bender of Elkhart, IN, Mary (Mark) Rettig of Eden Prairie, MN; one son, mark (Priscilla) Groh of Westminster, CA; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Groh of Fulton, IL; one step sister, June Enwright of Erie, IL.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lyman Groh; three sisters, Virginia Purvis, Irene Qualls, Beverly Hank.
ARDETTA (PRESTLEY) GUSSE
, 61, passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Reynolds Funeral Home, Morrison, with the Rev. Jim Harker officiating. Burial will be in Fenton Cemetery.
Ardette Prestley was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Fenton, the daughter of Fred and Mary Neary Prestley. She married William F. Gusse in Clinton, Iowa, April 26, 1939. She was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, William Lee, Fenton; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two sisters, Eva, Thompson; Carrie, Colville; two brothers, Raymond and Fay. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
MRS. ROBERT L. (ABBOTT) GUSSE
, 65, Garden Plains, died Tuesday morning (26 Jun 1973) at Mercy Hospital, Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will be in Garden Plalin Cemetery. The Rev. James Breed will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home after 2 p.m.
Mrs. Gusse was born in Garden Plain Aug 3, 1907, the daughter of Lee and Martha Storer Abbott. She married Robert Gusse at Garden Plain June 12, 1948. A memorial has been established in her memory to the Heart Association. She was a past matron of the Merton Chapter, OES.
Survivors include her husband, three brothers, Clyde and Harold, both of Clinton, Iowa; and Verne, Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
