CHARITY (LAMONT) PARTRIDGE , of Hume died suddenly at 5:30 a.m. Sunday (18 Feb 1900), just three hours after the birth of a daughter. The direct cause of death was heart failure brought on by a sinking spell. The funeral will be held at Como church Tuesday at 1 p.m. the cortege leaving the home at about 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Mr. Horton of the Sterling Presbyterian church will preach the funeral sermon and the interment will be at the Como cemetery. The following will be pall bearers: Charles Schick, A. D. Dickey, Joel Sherman and Mr. Fluck. Charity Lamont was born in Canada about forty-four years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lamont, who now live at Como . She was married in Como to Henry Partridge, May 21, 1887. To them were born five children, all of whom survive the mother. they are Flora, Mabel, John, Hector and the infant daughter. She leaves besides the husband and children, her aged parents, two sisters, Mrs. J. P. Hopkins of Como and Miss Flora Lamont of Sterling; three brothers, John, Jesse and Washington Lamont. The deceased as a good wife and mother and a true friend and neighbor though not a member of a church she believer in the Christian faith and an attendant of the Presbyterian church. The bereaved husband and family have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in their hour of bereavement. Mr. Horton officiating. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends and after the strong and sympathetic sermon the remains were tenderly lowered to the last earthly resting place by the following pall bearers: Charles Schick, A. D. Dickey, Joel Sherman and Mr. Fluck.

CLARENCE PARTRIDGE , formerly of Como, died suddenly in the Oak Park hospital Friday evening, according to information received this morning by his brother, John Partridge of this city. The funeral will be held in Chicago Monday with burial in Amboy. Mr. Partridge was born in Como and was abut 63 years of age. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Partridge. His boyhood was spent in Como, where he attended the schools. As a young man he entered the service of the Chicago & North Western railroad company at Nelson and about 35 years ago was transferred to Chicago and Oak Park. For many years until 10 years ago, he was yardmaster in charge of the State street yards. After quitting the railroad business, he was employed by the Monoghan Machine company. He was sized by a heart attack Friday evening, following a hard day at the plant, where he worked later than usual. Taken to the hospital immediately he passed away shortly afterward. He is survived by one son, Clarence, jr., and one daughter, Alice, both of Oak Park. also by the following: One brother, Harry, of Beloit, Wis., also the following half brothers; Hector of Galt, John of rock Falls, Oscar of sterling, George and Richard of Hume; and half-sisters, Miss Flo Partridge of Berwyn, Mrs. Mabel Milligan of Berwyn, Miss Marian partridge of Chicago and Mrs. Frances Baker of Clinton, Iowa.

EMMA (BRYSON) PARTRIDGE , 67, widow of Henry Partridge, died at 12:55 this afternoon (May 27, 1937) in Sterling public hospital. She had been ill since Monday morning when she was stricken with apoplexy. The body was removed to Wheelock funeral home in Rock Falls . One daughter, Mrs. Carl (Francis) Baker of Clinton, IA., and three sons, Richard, George at home and Oscar Partridge of Sterling survive. (Emma was buried in Riverside Cemetery , Sterling)

FLORA E PARTRIDGE , 90, formerly of Polo, died Sunday at the Fallbrook Hospital in California. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home with Dr. James Gillespie, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Polo officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. She was born Feb. 23, 1887 in Como the daughter of Henry H and Charity LaMont Partridge. She was retired from the Chicago Rock Island & Pacific railroad. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Marian Davis and Mrs. Frances Baker, both of Fallbrook, Calif. And many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and five half brothers.

GEORGE E. PARTRIDGE ,48, Rt 4, Sterling, was pronounced dead at the scene following a single vehicle accident on a gravel road two miles north of Prairieville and then eight-tenth of a mile east shortly after noon Wednesday. Troopers reported he ran off the right side of the road and into a tree. there was no indications of skid marks. It is believed Partridge died of a heart attack. Damage to the vehicle he was driving were estimated at $800. The body was removed to the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home, where Thursday morning Coroner John Ardapple conducted an inquiry, at which time it was determined that death was due to an apparent hear attack while driving on the highway. George Partridge was born in Hume township on March 6, 1915, the son of Henry and Emma Mae Bryson Partridge. On March 14, 1940, he was united in marriage to Theodosia Noon in Clinton, Iowa. He had farmed the past 24 years in the Sterling and Rock Falls area, and this past Monday started working for the S W Naylor Company in Dixon. He was a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Stephen, of RFD 4, Sterling, Maurice, at home; one daughter Pamela at home, three sisters, Miss Flora Partridge, of Polo, Miss Marian Partridge of Fallbrook, Calif., and Mrs. Carl (Frances) Baker of Clinton, Iowa; three brothers, Hector and Richard, both of Polo and Oscar of Sterling. several nieces, nephews, and cousins, also survive. Funeral services are tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 Thursday evening.

HECTOR H PARTRIDGE of Polo, passed away in Dixon Public Hospital, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. having been in ill health for some time. Mr. Partridge was born near Rock Falls, Ill., on Oct. 19, 1897, the son of Henry and Charity Lamont Partridge and was united in marriage with Mabel Dettman in Rock Falls on Feb. 2, 1924. Surviving besides Mrs. Partridge are one son, James, of Sterling; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Shirley) Manning of Polo. Five grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Partridge, of Polo, and Miss Marian Partridge of Fallbrook, Calif., and one half sister, Mrs. Francis Baker, of Fallbrook, Calif. Preceding him in death besides his parents are one son, Harold; one sister, Mrs Mabel Milligan; and six brothers, Harry, John, George, Clarence, Richard and Oscar. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls with Rev. Elmer Henrichs, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in the IOOF Cemetery in Rock Falls. Casket bearers will be Edward Deets, Stephen Partridge, Glen Partridge, Lyle Partridge, Neil Partridge and John Partridge. Arrangements were completed by Brown-Seidel Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Shriners’ Hospital for Crippled Children, Burns Institute, Boston, Mass.

HENRY H. PARTRIDGE - The funeral of Henry H. Partridge was attended by many relatives and friends Tuesday afternoon, brief services being held at the family home in Hume at 2 o’clock , and services being conducted in the Rock Falls Methodist church at 2:20 o’clock, Rev. J.J. Hitchens being in charge. Mrs. William Kelsey sang two appropriate solos during the services. Many floral tributes bespoke the esteem and sympathy of friends. Among relatives present were all of the eleven children of the deceased. The pall bearers who performed the service of interment in Riverside cemetery were John Fluck, Henry Olds, Charles Van Drew, James Hopkins, C. L. Minor and William Bowman. Henry Herbert Partridge was born Aug. 16, 1851, in Providence, Rhode Island, and came west with his parents, Smith Partridge and Lucy Partridge, when he was only three years of age. for nearly three-quarters of a century his home had been in eastern Whiteside county, the parental home being in Como, and for the past 45 years Mr. Partridge lived on the farm where he pass his last day, in Hume township on the Prophetstown road. Mr. Partridge was married three times, his first wife being Miss Elthea Scott of Como. Five children were born to them, of whom two, Clarence Partridge of Oak Park and Harry Partridge of Beloit, Wis., survive. Mrs. Partridge died in 1875. Later Mr. Partridge was united in marriage with Miss Charity LaMont of Como. Five children were born to them, all of whom survive, as follows Miss Flora Partridge and Mrs. Mabel Milligan, both of Berwyn, Ill., Miss Marin Partridge, of Oak Park; John Partridge of Rock Falls, and Hector Partridge of Harmon. Mrs. Partridge died in 1900. Mr. Partridge and Miss Emma Bryson of Rock Falls were married in 1900 and four children were born to them all of whom with their mother, survives, as follows Oscar Partridge, of Rock Falls; Mrs. Frances Baker, wife of Carl Baker, of Clinton, Iowa; Richard and George Partridge, at home. In addition to his wife and children, 14 grandchildren also survive, also one sister, Mrs. Ellery Burr, of Sterling. Throughout his long residence in East Hume and North Hume, Mr. Partridge won many friends and held the esteem and respect of his neighbors and associates. He began to fail in health two and one-half years ago, and his death was due to a gradual breaking down with the infirmities of age. He passed away Sunday morning at 9 o’clock, t the home where he had lived for so many years.

JOHN L. PARTRIDGE , 83 of Rock Falls died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at CGH Medical Center. He was a tile and terrazzo installer for many years and also was employed by Lawrence Hardware, Sterling, retiring after 10 years. Mr. Patridge ws born Nov. 24, 1921 in Sterling, the son of John L. and Gerrude (Eberly) Patridge Sr. He was a 1940 graduate of Rock Falls high school. He served in the Army during WW II with 1st Army, 1st Div. 16th Inf. Big Red, as a medic. He married Mary Jean Harvey on June 30, 1967 in Rock Falls. She died Feb. 8, 2005. He was a member of American Legion Post 902 and Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post 5418, both in Rock Falls. Survivors include a daughter Linda (Charles) Malone of Waukesha, WI; three sisters, Lita Moeller, Jean Patridge and Joan Patridge and two brothers Lyle and neil both of Rock Falls. He was preceded by a sister, Lois Patridge and two brothers Glen and Alan. Services with military honors is Tuesday at Coloma Twp. Cemetery.

LLOYD R. PARTRIDGE , 61, formerly of the Sterling area, died Saturday afternoon (July 12, 1969) at Pay Pine Veterans Hospital , St. Petersburg , Florida . Services have be tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Funeral Home, Sterling , with the Rev. E. A. Henrichs, pastor of the rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery . He was born Feb. 15, 1908 the son of Henry and Emma Bryson Partridge in Hume Township , and he is a veteran of World War II. Surviving are three sisters, Miss. Flora Partridge, Polo; Miss Marian Partridge, Fallbrook , Calif. , and Miss Frances Baker, Clinton , Iowa ; a brother Hector R Partridge , Polo, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister. Friends may call at the Allen Funeral Home from 204 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. MABEL A (DETTMAN)PARTRIDGE , 80, of the Polo Continental Manor Nursing Home, died Thursday in Sterling Community General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 5, 1900 in Hopkins Township, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Jacobs) Dettman. She was united in marriage to Hector H Partridge Feb 2. 1924 in Rock Falls. Surviving is one son, James, Rock Falls; one daughter Mrs. Lyle (Shirley) Manning, Polo; one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Evelyn) Denny, rock Falls; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband who died Apr 27, 1971, and one brother, Henry J. Dettman. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Idor Windhorn, pastor officiating. Burial followed in IOOF Cemetery, Rock Falls. Casketbearers were John Partridge, Glen Partridge, Lyle Partridge, Neil Partridge, Randy Partridge and Geary Partridge. A memorial has been established for the Polo Ambulance Association and the Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arrangements were completed by the Brown-Siedel Funeral Home.

MARY JEAN (HARVEY) PARTRIDGE , 79, of Rock Falls died Tuesday. Feb. 8, 2005, at her home. Mary Jean was born on June 7, 1925, in Baraboo. Wis. the daughter of Samuel and Cassie (Briggs) Harvey and was a 1943 graduate of Baraboo (Wis.) High School. She married John L. "Jack" Partridge Jr. on June 30, 1967 in Rock Falls. Mary Jean worked at Lawrence Bros. Hardware, Sterling for 20 years prior to retiring. She was a member of American Legion Post 902 Auxiliary Rock Falls. Survivors include her husband, John L. Partridge; her daughter Linda (Charles) Malone of Waukesha. Wis.; her stepdaughter, Billie Jo Elliott of Florida; her sister Josephine (the Rev. Alvin) Zipsie of Baraboo Wis.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita (Louis) Moeller of Sanford, Wisc. Jean Partridge of Sterlng, Lyle (Beverly) Partridge and Neil (Gyrieth) Partridge, both of Rock Falls and Joan Partridge of Sterling; special friend, Brian (Shirelle) Dukes of Rock Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Philip, James and Kenneth Harvey; and two sisters, Lilian Campbell and Ethel Harvey. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday Feb. 12, 2005. at McDonald Funeral Home RockFalls with theRev. Larry Thomson and the Rev. Alvin Gipsie, co-officiating. MATILDA K. (HAGERMAN) PARTRIDGE , 74, of civic Plaza, Rock Falls , died Wednesday morning (22 Feb 1978) at Sterling Care Center . Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. David Graef, pastor of the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Sterling, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park . Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born May 11, 1903 in Hopkins twp., Ill. the daughter of Charles and Mary Cassens Hagerman. She married Oscar Partridge who preceded her in death. She was employed at the Red Carpet Dining Room in Sterling . Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Burton ( Alice ) Hart of Rock Falls; two brothers, Charles Hagerman of Clinton , Iowa and George Hagerman of Sterling ; one sister, Mrs. Ezra (Clara) Keefer of Rock Falls; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. OSCAR SMITH PARTRIDGE , 63, of 216 ½ 1st Ave. , Sterling , died Sunday morning in his home. Mr. Partridge was born in Hume Township on Feb. 15, 1903, the son of Henry and Emma Bryson Partridge. He had worked as a molder at the Novelty Iron Works. He was united in marriage to Tillie Hagerman who survives along with one daughter, Mrs. Burton ( Alice ) Hart, Rock Falls ; two brothers, Hector, Polo, and Richard, De Kalb ; three sister, Mrs. Carl (Frances) Baker of Clinton, Iowa; Miss flora Partridge, Polo; and Miss Marian Partridge, Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren, including Phil Hart serving in Vietnam ; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, four brothers and one sister. THEODOSIA (NOON) PARTRIDGE , 62, Rt. 1, Sterling , died Monday morning (02 Nov 1981) in Community General Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Randall Brown, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sterling, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Partridge was born March 14m 1919 in Tampico , the daughter of John and Marie Noon Sr. She was united in marriage to George Partridge on March 14, 1940 ub Clinton , Iowa . He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1964 She is survived by two sons, Stephen of Schaumburg and Maurice of Genoa; one daughter, Mrs. Garrett (Pamela) Stevens, Jr. of Rock Falls ; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Donald and John Noon Jr., both of Sterling , Richard Noon of Oregon and Gail Noon of Ozark Missouri and one sister, Mrs. Keith (Edith Mae) Lester of Rock Falls. She was precede in death by her parents, her husband, George, one brother Harvey and one sister, Genevieve.

ALEXANDER L. PERCYCOE , 83, of 601 12th Ave., Rock Falls, died March 10, 1992 at CGH Medical Center. Prayer services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Melvin-Schilling Funeral home, Sterling, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Bernard J. Mullane, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to St. Andrew Catholilc Church. Mr. Percycoe was born Oct. 6, 1908, in Ferentino, Italy, the son of Louis and Loretta (Terranaxa) Percycoe. He married Genevieve Mae Lynch, June 16, 1940. Mr. Percycoe was the owner and operator of Percycoe Liquor Store, Rock Falls, from 1954-1979. He was also employed as a motor room attendant at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., retiring Jan. 1, 1984 after 44 years of service. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls; the L.O.O.M., Sterling, and F.O.E., Rock Falls. Surviving are his wife; four sons, James, Robert, Richard and David Percycoe, all of Rock Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Harley (Judith) Bodmer, Dixon, and Julie Percycoe and Loretta Percycoe, both of Rock Falls; 15 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Frank; and one grandson Todd Girton.

FRANK S. PETERS , 92, formerly of Cicero, Ill., died Feb. 9, 1993 at Prophets-Riverview Center, Prophetstown, where he resised. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. William Morrissey officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with a Christian wake service at 8 p.m. Internment services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Resurection Cemetery, Justice. A memorial has been established to Prophets-Riverview Center or masses. Mr. Peters was born Nov. 25, 1900, Cicero, the son of Christ and Frances (Staszak) Pietrzak. He was educated in Cicero Public School and attended Metropolitan Business College, Chicago. He had lived in Cicero for 85 years. He had worked for Interstate Dispatch Company and Sterling Motor Company, both of Chicago, and later was an associate of W.A. Alexander Insurance Brokers. He retired in 1965. He was a former member of St. Valentine's Church, Cicero, was past president of the Holy Name Society of the church, and also served as president of Grant-Parkholme Senior Citizen Organization, Cicero. He is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Poerstel of Prophetstown and Grace M. Francl of Lombard; one son, Donald J. Peters of Snellville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

LOUISE (DETORRICE) PRO , 58, 1108 10th Ave., Rock Falls, died late Saturday evening (Feb 21, 1987 ) at Community General Hospital. Visitation will be at the Grennan Funeral Home from 2-9 p.m. today. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday with a prayer service at 10 a.m. at St Andrews Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Risley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. A memorial has been established in her memory. Mrs. Pro was born July 28, 1928 in Sterling, the daughter of Thomas and Fesa (Celletti) Detorrice. She was educated at St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Catholic Community High School, Sterling. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and the altar and Rosary Society of the church. She had worked at General Electric in Morrison, Chester’s and Bergner’s Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Howland (Marcia) Ellis, Rock Falls; one sister, Mary Ann Detorrice, Dixon; two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter J. Pro; one son, Joe; and a brother, Phillip.
