MARY JEAN (HARVEY) PARTRIDGE
, 79, of Rock Falls died Tuesday. Feb. 8, 2005, at her home. Mary Jean was born on June 7, 1925, in Baraboo. Wis. the daughter of Samuel and Cassie (Briggs) Harvey and was a 1943 graduate of Baraboo (Wis.) High School. She married John L. "Jack" Partridge Jr. on June 30, 1967 in Rock Falls. Mary Jean worked at Lawrence Bros. Hardware, Sterling for 20 years prior to retiring. She was a member of American Legion Post 902 Auxiliary Rock Falls. Survivors include her husband, John L. Partridge; her daughter Linda (Charles) Malone of Waukesha. Wis.; her stepdaughter, Billie Jo Elliott of Florida; her sister Josephine (the Rev. Alvin) Zipsie of Baraboo Wis.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita (Louis) Moeller of Sanford, Wisc. Jean Partridge of Sterlng, Lyle (Beverly) Partridge and Neil (Gyrieth) Partridge, both of Rock Falls and Joan Partridge of Sterling; special friend, Brian (Shirelle) Dukes of Rock Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Philip, James and Kenneth Harvey; and two sisters, Lilian Campbell and Ethel Harvey. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday Feb. 12, 2005. at McDonald Funeral Home RockFalls with theRev. Larry Thomson and the Rev. Alvin Gipsie, co-officiating. Burial will follow at Coloma Township Cemetery Rock Falls.
MATILDA K. (HAGERMAN) PARTRIDGE
, 74, of civic Plaza, Rock Falls , died Wednesday morning (22 Feb 1978) at Sterling Care Center . Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. David Graef, pastor of the Our Savior Lutheran Church of Sterling, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park . Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born May 11, 1903 in Hopkins twp., Ill. the daughter of Charles and Mary Cassens Hagerman. She married Oscar Partridge who preceded her in death. She was employed at the Red Carpet Dining Room in Sterling . Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Burton ( Alice ) Hart of Rock Falls; two brothers, Charles Hagerman of Clinton , Iowa and George Hagerman of Sterling ; one sister, Mrs. Ezra (Clara) Keefer of Rock Falls; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. , 63, of 216 ½ 1st Ave. , Sterling , died Sunday morning in his home. Mr. Partridge was born in Hume Township on Feb. 15, 1903, the son of Henry and Emma Bryson Partridge. He had worked as a molder at the Novelty Iron Works. He was united in marriage to Tillie Hagerman who survives along with one daughter, Mrs. Burton ( Alice ) Hart, Rock Falls ; two brothers, Hector, Polo, and Richard, De Kalb ; three sister, Mrs. Carl (Frances) Baker of Clinton, Iowa; Miss flora Partridge, Polo; and Miss Marian Partridge, Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren, including Phil Hart serving in Vietnam ; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Mrs. Partridge was born March 14m 1919 in Tampico , the daughter of John and Marie Noon Sr. She was united in marriage to George Partridge on March 14, 1940 ub Clinton , Iowa . He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1964 She is survived by two sons, Stephen of Schaumburg and Maurice of Genoa; one daughter, Mrs. Garrett (Pamela) Stevens, Jr. of Rock Falls ; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Donald and John Noon Jr., both of Sterling , Richard Noon of Oregon and Gail Noon of Ozark Missouri and one sister, Mrs. Keith (Edith Mae) Lester of Rock Falls. , 80, formerly of Tampico, 2105 W. Day Drive, Largo, Fla., died Sunday (September 4, 1983) at Oak Manor Nursing home, Largo, Fla.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Allen-Schmitt-Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with Rev. Bradford Wilson, pastor of the Tampico United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico. Friends may call at the Allen-Schmitt-Garland Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory to the Heart Fund and Cancer Fund of Whiteside County. , formerly of Tampico, died Thursday morning (6 May 1970) in Largo, Fla. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Schmitt Chapel.
Surviving are the wife and two daughters, Mrs. Larry VanDeVelde, Prophetstown and Mrs. Kenneth Beyers, Fla., a brother Holger, Tampico and a sister Mrs. Marie Nielsen, Rock Falls.

E. GRACE (BOWLESBY) PENROSE
, age 65, of 307 Brunswick, Sterling, died Thursday in Sterling, Va. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Little Flower Catholic Church at Bethesda, Md., after which the body will be flown to the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling and entombment will be Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Riverside Mausoleum, Sterling. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Penrose was born in Sterling July 13, 1906, the daughter of Carrie Gettle and Clyde Bowlesby. She was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Linda P. Storey, Sterling, Va., who survives and Mrs. Nancy P. Keith, Richmond Heights, Ohio, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William A. Penrose, who died Dec. 15, 1965.

JULIA E. PENROSE
- The funeral services for Mrs. Julia E. Penrose, held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of her son, J. M. Penrose on Avenue C., were attended by many friends of the family.
Rev. Paul E. Nelson, pastor of the Congregational Church, of which Mrs. Penrose was the oldest member at the time of her death, was in charge of the services and brought messages of comfort from the scriptures. He paid a tribute to Mrs. Penrose's high character and sustained trust and quoted beautiful sentiments in keeping with the passing of a lifelong Christian to the reward for faith and service. Mrs. Ulm and Mrs. Walker sang a duet number, "In the Garden," which was a favorite of the deceased.
Interment was in Riverside cemetery, the pallbearers being the following friends: Frank A Grimes, Prof. E. T. Austin, H.H. Over, Richard Proctor, Louis Barto and C. D. Randall. Floral tributes from many friends covered the family lot, silently attesting the sorrow felt that the last local member of one of the city's pioneer families is no more.
Mrs. Penrose's daughter, Mrs. Amy Johnson of Pasadena, Calif., was here to attend the funeral, and Mrs. D. C. Riker of Spokane, Wash., only sister of Mrs. Penrose, was prevented from coming by the infirmities of age.

ALEXANDER L. PERCYCOE
, 83, of 601 12th Ave., Rock Falls, died March 10, 1992 at CGH Medical Center. Prayer services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Melvin-Schilling Funeral home, Sterling, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Bernard J. Mullane, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to St. Andrew Catholilc Church.
Mr. Percycoe was born Oct. 6, 1908, in Ferentino, Italy, the son of Louis and Loretta (Terranaxa) Percycoe. He married Genevieve Mae Lynch, June 16, 1940. Mr. Percycoe was the owner and operator of Percycoe Liquor Store, Rock Falls, from 1954-1979. He was also employed as a motor room attendant at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., retiring Jan. 1, 1984 after 44 years of service. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls; the L.O.O.M., Sterling, and F.O.E., Rock Falls.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, James, Robert, Richard and David Percycoe, all of Rock Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Harley (Judith) Bodmer, Dixon, and Julie Percycoe and Loretta Percycoe, both of Rock Falls; 15 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Frank; and one grandson Todd Girton.

FRANK S. PETERS
, 92, formerly of Cicero, Ill., died Feb. 9, 1993 at Prophets-Riverview Center, Prophetstown, where he resised.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Prophetstown, with the Rev. William Morrissey officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with a Christian wake service at 8 p.m. Internment services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Resurection Cemetery, Justice.
A memorial has been established to Prophets-Riverview Center or masses.
Mr. Peters was born Nov. 25, 1900, Cicero, the son of Christ and Frances (Staszak) Pietrzak. He was educated in Cicero Public School and attended Metropolitan Business College, Chicago. He had lived in Cicero for 85 years. He had worked for Interstate Dispatch Company and Sterling Motor Company, both of Chicago, and later was an associate of W.A. Alexander Insurance Brokers. He retired in 1965. He was a former member of St. Valentine's Church, Cicero, was past president of the Holy Name Society of the church, and also served as president of Grant-Parkholme Senior Citizen Organization, Cicero.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Poerstel of Prophetstown and Grace M. Francl of Lombard; one son, Donald J. Peters of Snellville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

GEORGE PETERS
- Veteran Of Spanish-America War, Passes Away Friday. George Peters, 165 West North Street, Morrison, a veteran of the Spanish-American war, died shortly before 9 p.m. last night in Hines veteran hospital, Hines. In failing health several years, he had been taken to Hines by ambulance 12 days ago for treatment. Mr. Peters was reared on the Peters homestead, where he later farmed. Later he became a salesman for the International Harvester company, working in Iowa, then in Morrison. The body was to be removed Saturday afternoon to the Reynolds funeral home where friends may call. Funeral arrangements pending arrival from Hines of Mrs. Peters, who survives.

IVISON T. PETERS
, 79, of 506 Ada St., Rock Falls, passed away Sunday evening. Mr. Peters was born Dec. 2, 1881, in Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pa., the son of Mathias and Mary Peters. He is survived by two sons, Ronald L. of Chicago; and Ellsworth of Rosendale, Wis.; nine grandchildren, including Mrs. George F. (Betty) Adams of Rock Falls with whom he made his home, ten great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and several brothers. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Harry E. Shiffer, pastor-emeritus of the First Christian Church of Rock Falls, officiating, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Friends may call after noon on Tuesday until the hour of services.

JOHN CHRISTOF PETERS
, son of Christof and Johannah Peters was born May 17, 1886 north Prairieville and died at his late home one and one half miles south-west of Coleta, Feb. 3rd,1933, age 46 years, 8 months and 18 days. He father preceded him in death 38 years ago, his sister Mrs. Issac Reecher about 10 years ago, his mother one and one half years ago and a brother a number years ago. Mr. Peters became ill October 19 and was under the care of a physician and trained nurse for a number of weeks. He recoverd from this illness and about two months late he was taken suddenly ill again and lived but three days.
He was united in marriage to Elsie Henrichs (Hendricks) June 25, 1907. Four children were born to this union, two dying in infancy. He leaves to mourn his death his widow and two children, Margaret wife of LeRoy Henrichs(Hinrichs) of Coleta and Willard Peters of Milledgeville and one grandson Wayne Henrichs(Hinrichs) and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Dusing of Sterling, Mrs Henry Keil of Coleta and Mrs. Adolph Kruger of Primghar, iowa.
The deseased was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the age of 14 years, at Dixon by Rev. Schmidt. For a time after their marriage the couple lived in Sterling, later moved to a farm near Round Grove and later moved to the farm where he died.
The funeral of John Peters who died here Friday night will be held from the home Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and from St. Pauls Lutheran church in Sterling at 1:30 o'clock. Rev C.G. Doermann will have charge of the service. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery., Sterling.

, passed away at her home east of Sterling last evening at five o'clock, the cause of her death being old age. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the home. Rev. E. C. Harris having charge of the services. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

BERTHA (BOOTH) POWER
, 69, of Erie, passed away Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Geneseo Hospital where she had been under treatment since falling and breaking her hip at her home several weeks ago. The body was brought to the Slaymaker Funeral Home in Erie, where funeral services were held Monday afternoon, with the Rev. Melvin Fiscus of the Erie Christian Church, officiating.
Bertha Booth, daughter of William and Eliza Hurd Booth, was born Nov. 6, 1874, in the Woodward's Bluff community in Prophetstown Township. About 42 years ago she was married to Otis Powers of near Erie and her home was on the farm near Erie until his death in August, 1923, when she and her family moved to Erie where they had since resided.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ed Juergens of West Allis, Wis., Mrs. Orville Smith of Sterling, who arrived at her mother's bedside from Arizona Friday evening, and Mrs. Ed Brate of Mineral; three sons, Eldon and Leonard of Erie, and Wallie of Geneseo; a brother, Eldon Booth of near Prophetstown and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Eden Booth, and two sisters, Mrs. Clem Johnson and Mary Bootha.

, 65, of Clinton, Iowa, died Tuesday (15 August 1978) at University Hospial, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Delaney Funeral Home in Clinton with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1912 in Miantie, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Flora Tennyson Trotter. She was a graduate of Sterling High School.
Survivors include on son, William Powers of Clinton; her mother, Flora Trotter of Clinton; one sister, Lucille Werland of Fort Worth, Tex. She was preceded in death by her husband and father.
