ELWOOD RAKOW , 78, formerly of Tampico, died Nov. 7, 1993 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Normal. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with the Rev. Mary Ann Kvapil, pastor of Tampico United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Parkinson Foundation. Mr. Rakow was born Nov. 22, 1914 in Sterling, the son of John and Alice Comstock Rakow. He married Frances Aldrich Feb. 15, 1946. She died Sept. 6, 1990. He was employed at International Harvester in his earlier years and then worked for Tampico Farmer's Elevator, Tampico. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Tampico United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Jean Thompson of Bloomington; one granddaughter, one great grandchild; one brother, Al Rakow of Darien; and one sister, Hazel Pierce of Sterling. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

FRANCES A. (ALDRICH) RAKOW , 78, of 106 Glassburn St., Tampico, died Thursday ( 6 Sep 1990) at CGH Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Garland Funeral home, Tampico, with Rev. Peter Carlson, Pastor Tampico Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday, until time of service. A memorial has been established. Mrs. Rakow was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Tampico, the daughter of Arthur and Minnie (Olson) Aldrich. She married Elwood "Pete" Rakow. She was a school teacher at Tampico and Montmorency schools for about 35 years until retiring in 1975. She was a member of Tampico United Methodist Church and Tampico WaTanYe Club. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Jean) Thompson, Normal; one granddaughter, Michelle Jacobs, Normal; one sister, Nellie G. Storm, Tampico.

HELEN L. (ROSENE) RANK , 66, of 1700 39th Ave., Sterling, died Oct. 16, 1991, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, following a long illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Allen Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Thomas Petty, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Allen Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established. Mrs. Rank was born Aug. 8, 1925 in Tampico, the daughter of . She married Ronald I. "Doc" Rank Dec. 31, 1946 at Tampico Methodist Church. She had been employed at Woolworth's in DeKalb, was secretary at School District #21 in Wheeling, and had worked at Green River Ordinance Plant. She was a member of the Kingswood Methodist Church in Buffalo Grove and the Sterling Women of the Moose. She is survived by her husband, Ronald; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lorelei) Schatti, Virginia Beach, Va., and Mrs. Jeff (Suzanne) Blackwell, Delafield, Wis.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Blanche Rosene and Mrs. Henry (Etta Mae) Tufte, both of Polo; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, and three sisters.

ALICE M. RANKIN - Funeral rites were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Behrens Mortuary with the Rev. Richard J. Hanson of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene and Robert Bentley, Carroll Taylor and Martin Tayman.

ELLEN (MOWAT) REDPATH , 85, 312 Oakland Ave., Morrison, died Monday morning (19 Jul 1971) at Resthave Nursing home. She had been ill for three months. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home, with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Ellen Mowat was born Jan. 27, 1886, the daughter of William and Sarah Butterworth Mowat at Andover, Mass. She was reared and educated in Massachusetts schools and on Oct. 25, 1915, she married Robert Redpath at North Andover, Mass., where they lived until coming to Morrison in 1963. She was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Eastern Star Lodge. Her husband died in 1968. Survivors include a son, Norman Redpath, Morrison; one brother, John Mowat, Summerville, Mass., and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Mrs. Rosmond Brough and one sister, Mrs. May Whitney.

INGER RHYMER - Funeral services for the late Mrs. Inger Rhymer, who died Monday afternoon [9-9-1929], will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home and at 2:30 o'clock at Bethsesda Lutheran church. The Rev. Leonard Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Hill cemetery. Mrs. Rhymer died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Olaf Johnson in Lincoln Way, West, after an illness of four months. She was one of Morrison’s oldest residents. Mrs. Rhymer was born in Skone, Sweden, March 1, 1837. She spent her early life there and was married to Swan Rhymer. They came to America ten years later and settled in Ustick township, where they lived until Mr. Rhymer's death in 1891. Since then Mrs. Rhymer made her home in Morrison. She is survived by four sons, S.L. Rhymer of Newberg. Ore.; C. J. Rhymer of Viscount, Sask., Canada; A. N. Rhymer, of Morrison and F.O. Rhymer, of Madison, Wisc., and four daughters, Mrs. Anna Moutray of Sugar Grove. Ill.; Mrs. Harriett Lake of Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Arthur Church, of this vicinity and Lillian Johnson, with whom she made her home here.
