MARGARET VAN ZUIDEN
, 92, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at the nursing home. She farmed with her husband in the Garden Plain, Mount Carroll and Carroll County areas. She was employed by Thompson True Value Hardware Store, Mount Carroll, Dr. Deyo Chiropractic Center, Mount Carroll, as a receptionist and then by the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home as a receptionist for 18 years.
Mrs Van Zuiden was born Feb. 11, 1910, in Erie, the daughter of Adolph and Marie (Lantinga) Van Oosten. She attended Kingsbury Schook, rural Whiteside County. She married Henry Van Zuiden on Dec. 17, 1929, in Erie. He died Jan. 21, 1999. She was a former and charter member of Faith Reformed Church, Lanark, and the church's Ladies Guild, served as a Sunday school teacher, catechism teacher and as the Sunday school secretary and treasurer. She was a member of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, and the church's Home Department and Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include two sons, Roland J (Ramona) Van Zuiden of Morrison and Jay R (Dorothy) Van Zuiden of Fulton, two brothers, Paul (Frances) Van Oosten of Sterling and Harvey (Patricia) Van Oosten of Dixon; eight grandchildren; 20 Great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Irene Dykstra, Winnie Ven Huizen, Inez Sterenberg, Josephine Eissens, Henrietta Vander Schaaf and Stella Van Zuiden; and four brothers, Henry Van Oosten, Charles Van Oosten, Jacob Van Oosten and Marvin Van Oosten. The funeral is at 10:30 am Saturday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Landegent, pastor of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, officiating. Burial is at Fulton Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Second Reformed Church, Fulton and Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison.

MARIE (DeVRIES) VAN ZUIDEN
, 90, of Pleasant View Nursing home, Morrison, formerly of Fulton, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the nursing home. She farmed with her husband in Newton Township until Jan. 7, 1969, and also was employed by Paaske's home Furnishings, Clinton, Iowa, until 1977.
Mrs. Van Zuiden was born June 15, 1913, in Newton Township, the daughter of Jacob and Eva (Strating) DeVries. She attended Newton Township schools, ural Whiteside County. She married John Van Zuiden n Feb 6, 1934, in Newton Township. He died June 18, 1986.
She was a charter member of Newton-Zion Reformed Church, Erie, where she taught catechism, Sunday school and was a member of the church's Ladies Guild and Mission Circle. She also was a member of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, and the church's Ladies Aid Society and Home Department.
Survivors include a daughter, Audrey (Don) Holesinger of Fulton; two sisters, Jennie (Jacob) Ven Huizen and Ella Mae (Alfred) Norman, both of Fulton; a brother John (Ruth) DeVries of Palo Alto, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harlan Dale Van Zuiden, in infancy; a brother, Herman DeVries; and a great-granddaughter.
The funeral is at ll a.m. Saturday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Rauwerdink, interim pastor of Second Reformed Church, Fulton officiating. Burial is at Fulton Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to Second Reformed Church, Fulton.

MARY (GRADY) OLSON VAN ZUIDEN
, 99, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at the nursing home.
Mary was born March 7, 1909 in Fulton, IL to John and Kate (Huen) Grady. She was educated in the Fulton Grade schools. She married Earl W. Olson on May 28, 1932 in Morrison, IL. He died August 8, 1944. She later married Dwight D. Van Zuiden on June 9, 1951 in Morrison, IL. He died August 17, 1992. Mary was employed at Scholl's Candy factory and the Item Biscuit Company both in Clinton, IA. She was also employed at Vanderbleek's Greenhouse and the Patent Novelty Company both of Fulton, IL. Mary loved to sew and bake for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed giving to others. She loved her family dearly. Mary also collected hats and dolls.
Survivors include her son, Ronald (Janice) Olson of Clinton, IA; step-son Ronald Van Zuiden of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren, Cheryl McRoberts of Clinton, IA, Eric (Nancy) Olson of Phoenix, AZ, Lance (Jeri) Olson of Las Vegas, NV; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, Jaron and McKenna Mc Roberts; Kaitlin and Everett Olson; Andrew, Silva, Alex and Aaron Olson; one brother in law, Elmer Bielema of Fulton, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, Earl and Dwight; three sisters, Anna Workman, Jeanette Englekens and Ruth Olson in infancy; two brothers, Clarence "Hap" Grady and Albert Grady
MERWYN VAN ZUIDEN
, 68, of Lyndon, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Judi Huseth, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL.Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, Clinton, IA. He was born April 17, 1940, in Morrison, IL, to William and Anna (Van Zuiden) Van Zuiden. He was educated at Cottonwood Grade School of rural Whiteside County. He attended Fulton and Morrison high schools. He married Leta Landheer on December 31, 1967, in Sterling, IL. She survives. He was employed as mechanic at the former Morrison Implement. He was engaged in farming in rural Thomson and Morrison, IL, areas. Most recently, he worked at Fenton Co-op in Fenton, IL, until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Leta; one daughter, Mindy (Frank) West of Estes Park, CO; two sons, Scott Van Zuiden of Morrison, IL, and Todd (Rhonda) Van Zuiden of Bellevue, IA; five grandchildren, Anna (David) Johnson, William Erickson, Eric Erickson, Brandon and Bailey Van Zuiden; three great-grandchildren, David Johnson, James Herrera and Aaron Johnson; one sister, Carol (David) Kuebler of West Lafayette, IN; and one brother, Harold (Janice) Van Zuiden of Carroll, IA. RANDY L. VAN ZUIDEN
, 57, of Albany, IL, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at his home in Albany.
Randy was born Dec. 28, 1950, in Clinton, IA, to Lewis and Gert (Klooster) Van Zuiden. He attended the Garden Plain (IL) Grade School and graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. He was a Viet Nam era veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He married Cindy Dornbush on January 10, 1976 in Albany. Randy was employed by 3M in Cordova, IL, for 34 years, retiring in February of 2008. He was a member of the American Legion Hanson/Kennedy Post #1079 in Albany, and a member of the Albany Lions Club. He was a member of the Fulton Country Club, where he served on the board for 2 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife, was an avid bowler and golfer, and a loyal Greenbay Packers Fan and New York Yankees Fan.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; one daughter, Karla Van Zuiden – at home; one son, Mitch (Nicole) Van Zuiden of Albany; his mother, Gert Van Zuiden of Fulton; one sister, Lori (Mrs. Dave) Handley of Cedar Rapids, IA; two brothers, Arlyn (Jane) Van Zuiden of Morrison, IL and Lauren (Janet) Van Zuiden of Winnetka, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Van Zuiden.
WILLIAM A. VAN ZUIDEN
- Funeral services for William A. Van Zuiden of 4 1/2 miles northeast of Morrison who died Sunday morning at his home after an illness of five months were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Ebenezer Reformed Church preceded by a prayer service for the relatives in the basement of the church at 1:45 p.m. The Rev. Bert Van Soest, pastor, officiated, and burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery.
The body had reposed at the Tomlinson funeral home until 1 p.m. Tuesday when it was taken to the church.
Nephews who served as pallbearers were Donald, Jay, Raymond and Arthur Van Zuiden, Elmer Prins and Harvey Temple. Friends in charge of the flowers were Mrs. L. A. Abbott, Mrs. James Lawry, Mrs. Charles Ottens and Mrs. Clark Jones.
A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. George Huisenga, Mrs. Don E. Bush, Al Van Dyke and Paul Brondyke sang two hymns accompanied by Mrs. Clayton Sikkema, organist.

WILLIAM J. VAN ZUIDEN
, 60, Albany farmer, died suddenly at his farm home at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
The body was removed to the Sikkema Funeral Home in Fulton where friends may call until noon on Sunday when it will be taken to the family home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Refomed Church in Newton township, the Rev. Gideon Wolbrink, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. A prayer service will be held for the members of the family in the basement of the church at 1:45.
Mr. Van Zuiden was born Oct. 3, 1898 in Fulton the son of John and Jennie Poel Van Zuiden. He was married to Fannie VenHuizen of Albany on Aug. 1, 1922. He was a member of the Newton Zion Reformed Church.
Survivors are his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Paul Juist, Mrs. Robert Wiebenga, Fulton; Mrs. Robert Boelkens, Albany, and Margaret at home; seven sons, Gerald, Howard, William, Wayne, all of Fulton; Jay, Harvey and Ronald, all of Albany; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Wilkens, Mrs. Paul Decker, two brothers, Klaus and Henry all of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by one son, his parents, one sister, and one brother.

, 100, of the Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison and formerly of Fulton, Ill., died Tuesday (22 June 2004) at the nursing home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Sneller, pastor of First Reformed Church in Fulton, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Heun, Michael VanZuiden, Jeff Keister, Tim VanZuiden, Andrew Heun, Bradley Keister, Travis VanZuiden, Ben Heun, Tyler VanZuiden, Matthew Keister, Emma Heun and Noah VanZuiden.
She was born July 26, 1903, in Fulton to Louis M. and Mary Newendyke Buikema. She married Clarence "Claus" VanZuiden on June 6, 1929, in Fulton. He died in 1967. She resided in Fulton until her husband died. She then moved to Morrison. She was educated in the rural Spring Creek School, Whiteside County, Ill. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton where she was a former member of the Adult Sunday school class. She was a "home department" member of the King's Daughters Society and the RCWM Mission Organization. She did domestic work for many years. She was employed, along with her husband, as a custodian of First Reformed Church, Fulton, from 1965 to 1966. She also worked at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison from 1969 to 1984 as a kitchen aide.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred (Wilbert) Heun of Fulton and Mrs. Betty (Art) Pruis of Morrison; one son, Marvin (Ethel) VanZuiden of Morrison; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jennie Beckmann of Phoenix, Lucy Sissing of Fulton, Mrs. Dorothy (Allen) Poel of Fulton and Luella Deelsnyder of Fulton; two brothers, Marion (Gertrude) Buikema of Morrison and Louis (Helen) Buikema of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Hildred Buikema of Fulton; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First Reformed Church's Radio Broadcast Ministry in Fulton or Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, two brothers and two infant siblings.
ANDREA (WOOD) VEN HUIZEN
, 58, of Erie, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Erie Christian Church. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Memorials may be made to the Erie Food Pantry.
The former Andree Lea Wood was born November 4, 1950, in Moline, the daughter of Raymond and Betty Holmes Wood. She married John VenHuizen on May 2, 1970, in Erie. She had been employed at the Illinois Department of Employment Security, Moline, retiring in 2008. Andree was a member of the Erie Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, antiquing and visiting with her friends.
Survivors include her husband; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Chad Ottens, Lyndon and Jessica and John Craven, Erie; a son and daughter-in-law, J. Isaac and Vanessa VenHuizen, Portland, Texas; grandchildren, Alexander Ottens, Rebekka Craven, Giuliana VenHuizen and Samantha VenHuizen; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond "Chip" and Karna Wood, Erie; and a sister-in-law, Darice Wood, Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bradley and Dell.

EURODA (HARMS) VELAZQUEZ
, 38, RR 1, Lyndon, died Friday at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Grennan and Son Funeral Home, Monday. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m Sunday. A memorial has been established in her honor.
Eudora Velazquez was born Feb. 13, 1934, at Rock Falls, the daughter of Fred and Erue Knowles Harms. She married Joseph Velazquez in Dixon, Jan. 26, 1952. They lived in the Rock Falls and Lyndon area since their marriage.
Survivors include her husband, eleven sons: Joseph, RR 2, Rock Falls; Michael, Anthony, Richard, Tim, Paul, Charles, David, Fred, Dale and James, all at home, and two daughters, Theresa and Andrea, both at home.
