GIFFORD C. WAHL
, 81, of Glendale, Calif., formerly of Sterling, died Jan. 8 in a Glendale hospital after a short illness.
Funeral rites were held Thursday at Garden Chapel of Woods Glendale Mortuary. The burial was in Valhalla Cemetery, North Hollywood, Calif.
Gifford C. Wahl was the son of Dr. Edward W. Wahl who for many years was a physician and surgeon in the Sterling area. For 45 years Gifford Wahl was a civil engineer in the Burbank-Glendale, Calif., area.
Surviving is his wife the former Monica M. Fitzgerald of Sterling and two children, Mrs. Marie L. Webber of Fallon, Nev. and Philip E. Wahl of Santa Maria, Calif. There are 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

VERNA (GLAFKA) WAHL
, 69, of 1701 Locust St., Sterling, died early this morning (3 October 1969) in Community General Hospital. The funeral will be held Monday morning with a prayer service at 10:30 in the Grennan and Son Funeral Home and requiem mass at 11 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. (Verna Glafka) Wahl was born July 17, 1900 in Walnut, the daughter of Mr.a nd Mrs. Henry Glafka. She was united in marriage to Leo J. Wahl, May 9, 1922 by the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Burns. He preceded her in death May 20, 1957.
Surviving are four sons and one daughteer, Warren, Robert and John F. Wahl of Sterling, the Very Rev. Msgr. Raymond J. Wahl of Rockford, and Mrs. Willilam (Mary Jane) Gearns of Garden City, Long Island, N.Y. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. William (Vera) Pitney of Sterling and Mrs. Fredolph (Ella) Cassens of Morrison. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Jane Marie and several sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Wahl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 326.

DONALD EUGENE WAKENIGHT
was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Dixon, son of Raymond and Ethel (Johnson) Wakenight. He was a graduate of Rock Falls High School. On Jan. 19, 1940 (note wrong date), he married Rita Aldous in Sterling. He had been employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., Sterling, where he worked in the conditioning yard of the 24" mill until retiring in January of this year.
Wakenight was a avid gardener, and enjoyed many other things that kept him busy.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Sonya Alden of Rock Falls, Sheila Hendrix of Sterling, Donna Wakenight, Patty Ohnen, Jennifer Wakenight, and JoAnne Wakenight all of Prophetstown; sons, Donald J. and Raymond E. Wakenight, both of Prophetstown; a grandson; his mother, Ethel Quinn of Sterling; his father of Galt; and sisters, Linda Welker of Milledgeville.

EUNICE (BRUMAGIN) WALKER
, one of the oldest and best known residents of Morrison, passed away late Sunday afternoon at her home on the Lincolnway East. She feel asleep during the afternoon and when her aged brother, Charles Brumagin, with whom she lived, found her, she has passed away.
She was born in Montgomery County, New York, in 1833 and her maiden name was Eunice Brumagin. In 1858 she was married in New York to I. V. Walker, and they came to Morrison in 1868, where she had resided continuously until her death. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Mrs. Walker had been in frail health for some time and confined to her home since last November. She is survived by two brothers, Charles Brumagin of Morrison and Arron Brumagin of Center Bridge, N.Y., and a grand nephew, F. G. Hollinshead of Morrison.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the home with Rev. P. R. McMahon of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be made in the Grove Hill Cemetery. An inquest was necessary and was held over the remains Monday afternoon.

CHARLES WALTERS
, 81, OF 103 Towne Street, Morrison, passed away Sunday at 1:25 pm. at the Morrison Community Hospital where he had been a patient for four months. Walters, a retired carpenter, had been in failing health for three years.
The body was removed to the Tomlinson Funeral Home where friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Tomlinson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Walters was born Dec. 28 1875 in Germany, the son of Karl and Christena Walters. He came to the United States when he was one year old and lived in this community ever since. He attended the Coleta and Capp schools. He is survived by three brothers, Earnest and Gust of Morrison and Herman of Polo; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, John, Frank and William.

SALLY ANN (JOHNSON) WANGELIN
, 54 of Tampico died Monday Octoner 23, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. She was born on September 27, 1952 in Kewanee, IL the daughter of Arthur and Donna (Kemerling) Johnson. She married William Wangelin on September 29, 1970 in Raligh, NC. Sally was a home maker and had also worked for several years at the former NORCO fuels in Rock Falls. She was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church and enjoyed crocheting and drawing. Surviving is her husband, William; her son Shane (Carrie) Wangelin of Tampico; her parents Arthur and Donna Johnson of Walnut; her three grandchildren: Zachary, Travis and Tori; her two brothers Russell (Marsha) Johnson of Forreston, IL and Jerry (Carol) Johnson of Princeton, IL. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 AM in Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will follow at the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
HAROLD CLEMENT WARKINS
, 49, passed away Friday morning (5 January 1968) at his home in Mount Morris.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Gardner Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ralph Ryberg officiating, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening.
Harold Clement Warkins was born Feb. 2, 1918 in Ashton, the son of Louis and Ada B. Warkins. He was educated in the Ashton and Sterling schools. He moved to Mount Morris from Prophetstown 11 years ago. He married Edith Neulle of Prophetstown on Jan. 3, 1940. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Mount Morris.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, David of Mount Morris, Richard of State Teachers College, Peru, Neb.; one daughter, Susan of Mount Morris; four brothers, John of Prophetstown; Clifford of Erie; Lyle of Harmon; Lewis of Geneseo; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Lois) Clark of Sterling; Mrs. Lucille Ashpole of Pearl City; Mrs. Claude (Grace) Powell of Lake Ozark, Mo., and one grandchild. He was preceded by his parents and one sister.

DAVID RAY WARREN
, newborn, of 221 Lyndon Rd., Prophetstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996, at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, Geneva, with funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leon United Methodist Church, Prophetstown. Burial will be at Leon Cemetery, Prophetstown. Arrangements were completed by Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown.
David was born Jan. 2, 1996, at Loyala University Medical Center, Maywood, the son of Bill and Mary (Nolan) Warren.
Survivors include his parents, three brothers, Bo Warren, Michael Warren, and James Warren, all at home; maternal grandfather, Edward Nolan of Brooklyn, N.Y.; paternal grandmother, Sue Warren of Batavia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

ALBERT L. WEAST
- Funeral services for Albert L. Weast, 77, will be held Saturday in Polo. Mr. Weast died February 24, 1951 t the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Daehler, near Oregon. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Melvin funeral home with Rev. D. J. Schuyleman officiating.
Burial will be in South Elkhorn Cemetery.
Mr. Weast was born in Pennsylvania April 15, 1873, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Weast. He farmed in Whiteside County before retiring in 1930 when he moved to Rockford. There he engaged in the real estate business until retiring because of ill health. He married Sarah Hacker, who died several years ago. (The Illinois Statewide Death Index, 1916-1950 gives her death date as October 30, 1935.)
He married Mrs. Sarah Watson April 25, 1943. She survives as do two daughters, Mrs. Daehler and Mrs. Alice Peter, Rockford. A son, John, of Rockford also survives in addition to 10 grandchildren and two brothers, and a sister who live in Pennsylvania.
The body will arrive in Polo Thursday and will be taken to the Melvin Funeral Home where friends may call.

ALFRED WATERS
, 80, of Rock Falls , died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at his home. He was employed by RB & W, Rock Falls , as a millwright, retiring after 35 years. Mr. Waters was born May 12, 1927, in Sterling , the son of Alfred C. and Mary Bertha (Hackbarth) Waters. He served in the Navy during World War II as a gunners-mate and commissary-man third class. He married Lois M. Thompson-Simpson on June 29, 1997, in Rock Falls . He was a member of Rock Falls United Methodist Church and a former member of Rock Falls Christian Church. He also was a member of Rock Falls American Legion Post 902 and Rock Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5418. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Lynn (William ) Vinson, LeAnne (Mike) Wade and Lisa (David) Turner, all of Rock Falls, and Lauri Walker (James Chatham) and Lonna Waters, both of Dixon; five step-children, Marilee (Robert) Ashley of Sterling, Tom (Marcia) Thompson of Rock Falls, Jeffery (Cindy) Thompson of Coleta, Mark (Diane) Thompson of Silvis and Steven (Norma) Thompson of Long Grove; three half sisters of Rockford; 29 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Barbara Ellefson; and his half brother, Glen Waters. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls , with the Rev. Thomas Moe officiating. Burial with military honors is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park , Sterling . Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. JAMES C. WEAVER
, 68, of rural Milledgeville died Tuesday March 20, 2001, at St Claire Hospital, Monroe, Wi. He was employed by the former Geir Manufacturing and operated the City Service Station for than six years, both of Rock Falls. He then was employed by the Illinois Forge, Rock Falls, for 33 years, retiring in 1996.
He also was employed by Sterling Christian School and East Jordan United Methodist Church, Sterling, as a janitor.
Mr. Weaver was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Minturn, Arkansas; the son of James A. and Fronia (Townsley) Weaver. He married Marilyn Schreiner on Aug. 31, 1962, in Ottawa. He served as union steward and committee and labor representative at Illinois Forge, Rock Falls. He was a member of East Jordan United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his family and working outside.
Survivors include is his wife; a daughter Pam (Tom) Elder of Freeport; three sons James A. (Kathy) Weaver of Muscatine, Iowa; Joseph Weaver of Salt Lake City; and Perry Weaver of Sterling; Two sisters, Velva Lee (Wilburn) Johnston of Tupelo, Miss., and Mary Sue (Seth) Howell of Braggadocio, MO.; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Lillie (Weaver) Kiefer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Jordan United Methodists Church, Sterling, IL. With the Rev. Tony Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at East Jordan Cemetery, Sterling
SUSAN (WENTSEL) WEAVER
- The funeral of Mrs. Susan M. Weaver, 66, who passed away at her home, 304 Eleventh Ave, Thursday morning will be held at the Melvin Funeral Home at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Albert H. Keck pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate and entombment will be in Riverside Mausoleum. Susan Wentsel was born March 24, 1878 in Jordan Twp. the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wentsel. On Dec 15, 1897 she married Austin R. Weaver. She is survived by her husband, two children, Mrs. Samuel S. Moore and Glen A. Weaver both of Sterling, one brother Robert D. Wentsel of Sterling, two sisters, Miss Mollie Wentsel and Mrs. Henry Bauman of Polo.
CLARA (ARNETT) WEBURG
, 87, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home here. Death came following a prolonged illness. The body was removed to the Gardner Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. William Dupree, pastor of the Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.
Clara Arnett was born June 23, 1869 in Portland Township, a daughter of Louis C. and Sarah Roos Arnett. She attended the Jefferson Corners rural school and the Geneseo schools. She lived in this area most of her life, and in her present residence 49 years.
She was married to Gus P. Weburg of Prophetstown, April 13, 1898 in her home in Portland.
Surviving are three sons, Claude, Louis and Robert, of Prophetstown, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Chamberlain, Lyndon, and Miss Lila Weburg, Prophetstown; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Maude) Sibley, Tampico; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Stacey, Roy and Harley Arnett, and three sisters, Mrs. Ida Rodee, Mrs. Winnie Berg and Mrs. Agnes Sibley.

LILAH M. WEBURG
, 96, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at the center. She was employed by Farmers National Bank, retiring after 49 years. She was born July 24, 1908, in Prophetstown, the daughter of Gus and Clara (Arnet) Weburg. She graduated in 1926 from Prophetstown High School and later from the former Brown Business College, Sterling. She was a member of First Congregational Church and the former Wa-Tan-Ye Club Prophetstown. Survivors include two nieces, Patricia (Glen) Francis of Lyndon and Coralie (Marvin) Scott of Prophetstown; two nephews Douglas (Avis) Chamerlain of Lyndon and David (Susan) Chamberlain of Village, Fla. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Cong. Church Prophetstown, burial at Riverside in Prophetstown.
CAROL J. (BELLARS) WESTBO
, 67 of Sterling died Tuesday June 13, 2006 at her home. She was born on November 1, 1938 in Sterling the daughter of Albert and Lula (Adams) Bellars. She married Richard Westbo Sr June 9, 1956. She later married James C. Seeley June 1, 1983. He died January 6, 1987. Carol was employed as an LPN at the former Dixon State School and later and the Jack Mabley Center, Dixon having worked a total of 30 years. She enjoyed watching her soap operas on TV, dinning out, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Christian. Surviving are her children: Richard Westbo Jr (Sandy Westbo) of Sterling, Mark "Andy" Westbo of Sterling, Julie A. (Sonny) Bosley of Milledgeville and Dawn M. (Chuck) Kornewald of Sterling; her sisters Joyce Fortney, June (Bill) Alber and Ellen Bellars all of Sterling; her brother Wesley Bellars of Sterling; her six grandchildren: Michael Westbo, Eric Westbo, Clarrissa Bosley, Lasondra Bosley, Mallory Kornewald and Macy Kornewald. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, one sister and her parents. Funeral services will be Saturday June 17, 2006 at 10 AM in the McDonald-Allen-Grennan Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue, Sterling. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
JEANETTE (RUMLER) WHEAT
, 90, Prophetstown, died Monday evening at the Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 20:30 a.m. in St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Prophetstown. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening at the Gardner Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Jeanette Wheat was born on Nov. 21, 1892 in Atkinson, the daughter of Henry and Eilhelmina Bouhuis Rumler. She was educated in the Atkinson Schools. In 1913 she married Dale Wheat of Atkinson and moved to Prophetstown in 1918. She worked at the Green River Ordinance Plant and Eclipse Lawn Mower Company.
Surviving are one daughter, Arline Wheat, Prophetstown; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1949, one son, Arden in 1978, five sisters and eight btothers.

HELENE ELIZABETH (RICE) WHITEBREAD
, 89, formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, November 3, 2005 in Omaha. She was employed as a Secretary for Lawrence Brothers until she retired in 1982. Mrs. Whitebread was born July 5, 1916 in Sterling, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Mayer) Rice. She married Edward B. Whitebread October 11, 1941 in Sterling. He preceded her in death October 24, 1972. Survivors are a daughter, Carolyn (Lyle) Plautz of Omaha, NE; a son, Ronald Whitebread of Chandler, AZ; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Caskey and Bernice Jones. A Memorial Mass will celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Reverend Paul Lipinski officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be 9-10 AM at the Church. Arrangements were completed by the ScHilling Funeral Home.
ERNEST B. WHITTINGTON
, 66, of Prophetstown, died Feb. 9 1993, at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine's Church, Prophetstown. Burial will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the Gibson Funeral Home, Erie, with a rosary at 8 p.m.
Mr. Whittington was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Annawan, the son of Willis E. and Anna (Louckart) Whittington. He married Dorothy Schackelford April 25, 1945, in Hooppole. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the former International Harvester Farmall Works in Rock Island in 1986 after 37 years. He was a member of St. Catherine' Church, Prophetstown, and the United Auto Workers.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Brenda Bevan of Davenport, Iowa; three sons, Ernest Jr. of Springfield, Ohio, Kenneth of Milan and Rodney of Prophetstown; 11 grandchildren; his mother of Geneseo; three sisters, Dorothy Michaels of Colona, Ruby Whittington of Carbondale and Betty Cooper of Moline; four brotheres, Raymond of Geneseo, Robert of Willow Springs, and Marlin and Heerbert, both of Moline.

MINNIE A. WIEDERANDERS
, Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie A. Wiederanders, 708 4th Ave., Sterling, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Warren C. Weeg, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial took place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Wesley H Koster was the organist and Mrs. Russell Koster sang. Lundstrom Florist were in charge of flowers. Pallbearers were George Mathews, John L. Hay, Jeffrey Chubb, Paul Gess, Mark Wideranders and John Weeg.
The body was moved from the Melvin Funeral home to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday to lie in state until the time of service.

DONALD WIGGINS
, 75, of 1720 Ave. E., Sterling, died Feb. 9, 1993, at CGH Medical Center after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Grennan Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Revs. Donald Conrod, pastor of First Baptist Church, Dixon, and Bobby Walker, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sterling, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to Whiteside County Hospice and Sauk Valley Hospice.
Mr. Wiggins was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Decatur. He married Mary Alice Whitton, July 4, 1959, in Huntington, W. Va. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 101st Airborne Division in the European Theater. He was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. in the Netting Department for 35 years, retiring in February of 1980. He attended First Baptist Church, Dixon, and was a member of the Rock Falls American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of Sterling; one sister, Dorris Kazort of Rochelle; and a special friend, Merle McCord of Rock Falls.

MAE (WOODARD) WILDER
, 83, died Wenesday evening in the Evenside Nursing home, Morrison, where she had been a patient for the past three and one half years. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Chapel, Prophetstown, with the Rev. Preston Woods officiating. Burial will be in Lyndon Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Wilder was born March 11 1889, in Prophetstown, the daughter of William and Abbie Black Woodard. She received her education in Lyndon schools and was a member of the United Methodist church, Lyndon. She married Frank B. Wilder in Morrison on Oct. 10, 1911. Mrs. Wilder had lived most ofher life in Lyndon with the exception of 10 years in Galesburg. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband and one brother, Clarence Woodard.

CARL WILDI
, 93, 102 S. Grape St., Morrison, died Monday evening (15 Aug 1983) at Morrison Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Renkes-Reynolds Funeral home with the Rev. Alvin Hook officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cancer Society. Carl Wildi was born on Oct. 18, 1889 in Effingham, the son of Rudolph and Emma Hartman Wildi. He was reared and educated in Effingham and Highland. On Sept. 3, 1919 he married Martha Kempfield in Morrison. She preceded him on July 12, 1968. He worked for Libby, McNiel and Libby and General Electric Company until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Morrison Lions Club, Dunlap Lodge 321 AF& AM, Tebela Shrine, Rockford, and the Scottish Rite Body, Moline. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marion Paulsen, Seattle, Wash.; two sons, George, Seattle, Wis., and John D. Whitewater, Wis., eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Wildi and Louise Wildi, both of Effingham, and Mrs. Joseph (Ella) Merling, Ft. CLIFFORD RAY WILDMAN
, 77, of Prophetstown, a carpenter by trade, passed away Saturday afternoon (21 January 1967) in the Highland Hospital, Belvidere.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 21:30 p.m. in the Gardner Funeral Chapel, Prophetstown, the Rev. Paul Olson officiating, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight. Masonic services will be held at the home at 8:30 p.m.
Clifford Wildman was born Feb. 23, 1889, in Yorktown Township, the son of Henry W. and Lily Griswold Wildman. He was educated in the Prophetstown rural and high school, and lived in Prophetstown since his marriage. He married Charlietta Santee of Prophetstown, Feb. 20, 1913 in Morrison. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, OES and the White Shrine.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Dana Wildman of Dixon; Herbert Raymond Wildman of Toledo, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Thora) Seeley of Kirkland and seven granchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife and two brothers.

BESSIE ERMINNIE WIMER
- Funeral services were held o Monday at Summerill Mortuary for Mrs. Bessie Erminnie Wimer, 66, of Nice, who died Thursday, August 27 (1953) after a long illness. Mrs. Wimer was a retired schoolteacher and a graduate of the State Normal School of DeKalb IL. She was a former member of the Triple Link Rebekah Lodge of Burke ID and the Order of Eastern Star in Rock Falls, IL. Prior to her illness she was active in the Upper Lake American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wilder Immel of the Lakeport Christian Church. internment followed at Upper Lake cemetery. In addition to her husband, Glenn, Mrs. Wimer is survived by a son Glenn, of Spokane Washington adn two daughter, Mrs. L.W. Malstrom of Yonkers, N.Y. and Mrs. Ruth Congton of Tacoma, Wash. She also leaves two brothers, Lester McNeil of Havre Montana; Walter McNeil of Alamogordo NM ; one sister Mrs. Harold Palmer of Sterling IL and two grandchildren.

MICHAEL A. WINANDY
, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home.
Michael was born March 22, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to Peter H. and Rose (Palm) Winandy. He was educated in the Coonley Grade School and graduated from Lane Tech High School, both in Chicago. He attended both Wright and Lakeview Colleges in Chicago. He married Barbara A. Berger on February 27, 1984 in Kauai, HI. Michael was a general contractor and built greenhouses in the Chicago area for the family business, Peter H. Winandy & Sons, Inc. In 1991, he and his wife Barbara started, owned and operated the Hillendale Bed and Breakfast in Morrison, until his retirement two years ago. He was an avid world traveler and delighted in exploring remote locations. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morrison.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Alan) Fuller of Morrison, IL, Pamela Winandy of Glenview, IL; two sons, Michael (Sarah) Winandy II of Maple, WI, David (Carol) Winandy of Kenmore, WA; seven grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Winandy, Joshua Gunderlock, Leah Winandy, Danielle Winandy, Michael Winandy III, Bryan Fuller, Curtis Fuller; five step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; one sister, Rose Marie (Mrs. Daniel) Spychala of Mt. Prospect, IL.
He was preceded in death by one son, Curt Winandy; three sisters, Dolores Campbell, Mary Pearson, Laverne Amann; one brother, Peter H. Winandy II.
KRISTINE ANN (GIBBS) WIRE
, 53, died unexpectedly, Monday, February 05, 2007 at her home. She was employed by Illinois Department of Transportation in Dixon since 1971 and for the past several years held the position of executive secretary for the Bureau of Local Roads and Streets. Kristine was born April 20, 1953 in Sterling, the daughter of Richard H. and June A. (Coats) Gibbs. She married Jeffery A. Wire on May 3, 1975 at East Jordan Methodist Church. He preceded her in death in June of 1980. Survivors include her mother of Polo; a brother, Marty Gibbs of Polo and her dog, Jake. She was also preceded in death by her father in 1981. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling with Reverend Roger Carlson, Pastor of Berean Baptist Church, Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Wednesday at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established.
SAMUEL WISE
- On the 15th of Dec., 1905, at the home of Wm. McCulloh, near Morrison, Whiteside Co., Ill., Samuel Wise, aged 86 Y., 3 M., 6 D. He was born in Lancaster Co., Pa., oct. 9, 1819. When he was six years old he moved with his parents to Franklin Co., Pa., and on Dec. 17, 1844, was married to Elizabeth Lininger. To this union were born five sons and two daughters. Both daughters are dead and the five sons are living in Pennsylvania. His first wife died Oct. 15, 1879, and he was married to Mrs. Hannah McCulloh in 1887, who survives him. In 1889 he moved to Whiteside Co., Ill., where he has since lived. He was a member of the Lutheran church, but since living in Illinois he attended the Mennonite church near Morrison, t which place the funeral services were conducted Dec. 18th by Pre. John Nice, from Psa. 89:48.

ZILPHA (SCHOFFNER) WISE
, 75 of 5 East Miller Rd., Sterling, died Tuesday morning ( 2 April 1957) in Home Hospital following a lingering illness. Mrs. Wise was born Aug. 25, 1881, in Hodgenville, Ky., the daughter of Thomas and Mollie Shoffner. She was married to Charles M. Wise, Nov. 28, 1900 in Wyanet, Ill. The couple moved to Sterling in 1939 and had lived in this city since that date.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Mae) White; Mrs. Henry (Bessie) Wolf, both of Sterling; and Mrs. Robert (Marian) McDonald, Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Alva and Clifton, both of Sterling; one brother, John Shoffner, Muscoy, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by here parents, four sisters, three brothers, and one daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Nellie) Lundgren, who died in 1956.
Friends may call after Wednesday noon at the Allen Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brace Johnson of the First Christian Church, Sterling, officiating. Burial in Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

GLENN F. WOLZFELT
, 79, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Sterling Pavilion. He was a mechanic and owned and operated a Laundromat in Rock Falls.
Mr. Wolzfelt was born Nov. 13, 1922 in Walnut, the son of Nicholas and Hazel (Larsen) Wolzfelt. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Mildred E. Oldham on Sept. 26, 1943, in Walnut. She died March 25, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Vivian (Stephen) Rourke of Sterling; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
There is no funeral or visitation. Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established.

CLEONE WUNDERLICH
, 50, of 3512 Maywood Ave., St. Louis, 20, Mo., passed away at her home Wednesday morning following a lengthy illness. The body rests at the Feut Calvan Funeral Home, 4824 Natural Bridge Rd., in St. Louis, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Louis. Mrs. Wunderlich was born near Coleta, Jan. 6, 1910, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Hanna. She was a graduate of Milledgeville Community High School and Illinois State Normal University. She taught at high school level at Sparta, Ill, until her marriage to John Wunderlich, June 19, 1935. She is survived by her husband, John; a son, John H., and a daughter, Nancy, both at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Hanna, Coleta, and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Tyne of Sterling.
