IRENE (MURPHY) WILLIAMS
, 88, of Rock Falls died Wednesday, July 30, 2003. She was employed by Bill's Lunch Stand, Country Kitchen and Gray's Gate among others, as a cook for several years, and then by Borg Warner, Dixon, until retiring. Mrs. Williams was born July 15, 1915, in Chatham, the daughter of Alexander A. and LuIu (Peach) Murphy. She married Vernon J. Williams on Aug. 15, 1931, inHillsboro. He died in 1982. Survivors include five sons, William (Lois) Williams of Sterling, Donald (Mary) Williams of Hot Springs, S.D., James (Bonnie) Williams of Rock Falls, Kenneth (Connie) Williams of Chadwick'and Michael (Elaine) Williams of Pensecola, Fla five daughters, Joyce (Phil) Quackenbush of LaCrosse, Wis., Janet Feldmann of Lakeland, Fla., Charlotte Smith of Rockford, Sally (Sherman) Hopkins of Sterling and Robyn (Davel Haggard of Lyndon: a brother, Bob Murphy of Dixon, 40 grandchildren: and many great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, David and John: two daughters, June and Ethel: two brothers: and a sister.
The funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with Judith Penniman, pastor of Gentle Shepherd Fellowship, Rockford, officiating. Burial is at IOOF Cemetery, Rock Falls. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Heart Association.

JENNIE (GOLDEN) WILLIAMS
died January 26, 1927 at her home on East High Street following an illness of more than three months. She was in the Sterling Hospital for more than two months, returning home about a week ago. Three days ago she became worse, and death came while in a deep sleep. She was born June 3, 1857, in Sendrayton, Cambridgeshire, England, to Joseph and Harriet(Mathews)Golden and came to this country with her parents when 9 years old. They first settled in Fairhaven in Carroll Co. IL. Later they made a trip by covered wagon from Cottonwood to Newton, Kansas, where she was married to Marlin Eugene Williams on July 19, 1873. Shortly after they came to Whiteside Co. to make their home. Her husband preceded her in death dying iAug. 14, 1923. Surviving are the following daughters, Cora (W. Tom) Adams of Morrison, Matt (Glen) Graves of Wichita, Kansas, and sons, Harry E. , William (Bob) and Frank Williams all ofMorrison, IL. In addition there are 22 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Reynolds Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Walter will officiate. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

KATHRYN (HERMES) WILLIAMS
of Morrison, 95, died Tuesday morning July 17, 1979 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, preceded by a family prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at Renkes-Reynolds Funeral Home. Fr. William Knott of Sterling Sacred Heart Church will officiate. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Renkes-Reynolds Funeral Home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.. Rosary has been set for 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established. Kathryn Bernice Hermes was born December 8, 1883 in Lee County, the daughter of Peter and Barbara Kanzler Hermes. She was reared and educated in Dixon, IL. She was married January 8, 1908 in Morrison to Harry Eugene Williams, who preceded in death on October 4, 1957. She had resided in Morrison since her marriage and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Viola Welch and Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Scudder of Morrison and Mrs. Ellis (Lucille) Byers of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sons, Harvey L., Robert and Richard of Morrison and Harry E. Jr. of Los Alamos N.M.; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Geraldine and Ella in infancy,one brother, Joseph and six sisters

LOU (DOWNEY) WILLIAMS
, 79 of 156 20th Ave. N, East St. Petersburg, Fla., a former Rock Falls resident, died Thursday (18 March 1971) at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be Monday, 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Proctor, pastor of hte First Congregational Church of Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday.
Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 5, 1892 at Rock Falls, the daughter of William and Ida Ekert Downey. She was united in marriage to Roy E. Williams on Nov. 26, 1914, in Rock Falls, where the couple lived their entire married life until moving to Florida 10 years ago. Mrs. Williams was a member of the St. Petersburg Women's Club, past president of Rockford PEO Chapter and a member of the Rock Falls OES Chapter.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; two sons, Lyle M. Williams, Ft. Lauderdale Fla., and Robert A., Rockford; two brothers, Harold E. Downey, Alton, and Howard E. Downey, Peoria; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

MARLIN EUGENE WILLIAMS
died August 14, 1923 at the home of his son William, whom nearly everybody knows as "Bob" and who resides at 304 E. Winfield St. Morrison, IL. He has been in poor health from two to three years and blind for the past two years. Marlin Eugene Williams was born at Plymouth, Indiana, Sept. 13, 1852 and was the son of George Franklin and Elizabeth Williams. Going west, his marriage to Jennie Golden ocurred at Newton, Kansas on July 19, 1873. Shortly after he and his wife came to Whiteside Co. IL. to make their home. Part of the time the family resided at Fulton, and practically all of the time since then the deceased has resided in this vicinity. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Jennie and five children, Matt (E.K.) Pybas of Wichita, Kansas, Cora (Will T.) Adams, Frank Williams,William Williams, and Harry E. Williams all of Morrison, Il.; eighteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, one sister Sarah Cotton of Superior, Wis., and five half brothers, John, Perry, Ward, Harry and Alfred all residing in or near Newton, Kansas. Alfred is expected to arrive in Morrison this evening, and it is possible that some of the other relatives may also come to the services, which will be held Thursday at the Reynolds Funeral Home, Morrison, in charge of Rev. O. LeRoy Walter.Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL.

PEGGY JEAN (MELTON) WILLIAMS
, 43, of Morrison, Ill., and formerly of Erie, died Sunday at St. Anthony's Hospital, Rockford, Ill. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Erie Christian Church. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gibson Funeral Home, Erie.
She was born Dec. 15, 1960, in Morrison to K.B. and Carol Massa Melton. She married Ron Stubbs in June 1978 in Erie. She later married Randy Betts in 1981 in Morrison. She later married Tom Kennedy on Nov. 28, 1987, in Erie. She then married LeRoy Williams on Oct. 15, 2001, in Rock Island, Ill. She was a beautician and also had been a CNA.
Survivors include her husband, LeRoy of Davenport; a daughter, Candace Betts of Morrison; a son, Cory Stubbs of Morrison; one grandson; her parents, K.B. and Carol Melton of Erie; two sisters Jill Nyenhuis of Erie and Kathy Venhuizen of Geneseo, Ill.; and a brother, K.B. Melton III of Erie.

RICHARD WILLIAMS
, 81, of Morrison, IL. died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 1:30 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Donald Matthiessen, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation is Tuesdqy, December 27, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in his memory to Cancer Research He was born on September 6, 1924, in Sterling, the son of Harry E. and Kathryn B. (Hermes) Williams. He married LaVonne (Mennega) Mount on March 6, 1976, in Morrison. He was a veteran of World War 11, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Williams was employed by the City of Morrison as Grove Hill Cemetery Superintendent, retiring in 1982 after 34 years of service . He also was a Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include his wife; a son Ronald (Norma) Williams of Savanna, IL.; a stepdaughter, Vonda Miller of Sterling,; stepsons, Gene Mount of Rock Falls, and Larry Mount of Branson, Missouri; his twin brother, Robert (Marilyn) Williams of Fulton, Harvey (Pauline) Williams of Morrison, and Harry (Linda) Williams Jr. of Los Alamos, New Mexico; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by five sisters; Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Scudder; Mrs Bill (Viola) Welch; Mrs. Bob ( Lucille) Byers and Geraldine and Ella Mae in infancy. Note: His son Ronald Williams passed away 1 week later.
