This Queen Anne Victorian home was built in 1902 by William Ellsworth. He was an educator, a professor of science. William was principal and superintendent at Morrison High School. He was also a noted local historian.

The current owners are Craig and Cathy Wolever. Their home has many Victorian attributes. Outside it features a decorative wrap-around porch. The hardwood floors have been restored. Just inside the front door is a foyer with an open stairway. At the foot of the stairway is a small round room with original curved glass windows. To the left of the foyer is the music room and parlor.

The living room is large with a fireplace. The large combination dining room and kitchen has been updated with modern appliances, and at the back of the kitchen is the servant's stairway and half bath. There are also a number of stained glass windows throughout the home.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms, a full bath and an open foyer with a doorway leading to the second story porch. Just off of the upstairs bath is a stairway to the unfinished third floor. Craig plans to make the third floor his "man's" room- some day.

With the exception of modern vinyl dual paned windows, new roof, insulation and upgraded wiring and plumbing, the home has been restored to its original condition. Sitting on a picture perfect corner double lot, it also has some unique features, one of which is its 3 story tower (turret). What makes this tower unique is the second story porch. It is the perfect place to sit on a warm summer's evening to catch the cool breezes. Being high above the ground, it also has the added benefit of no mosquitoes. Other unique features are the pocket doors. Unlike common pocket doors that consist of two doors (one on each side), these doors consist of one huge door that pulls out to fill the entire doorway. One more feature that was really handy years ago is the "delivery door". This consists of a small addition jutting from the back of the house with a small latched door. Back when milk and produce was delivered to the home, the delivery man would open the small door and leave his good inside. The homeowner could then get the deliveries without going outside.

Craig and Cathy have a good start on making this home a "painted lady", painting the outside with multiple shades of pink. They have also built a shop behind the house that is the envy of the neighborhood. The shop is heated, air-conditioned and has a working fireplace! Cathy has spent the last five years planning flowers and landscaping. Her passion is researching and planting unusual trees and plants.

The crowning touch on this Queen Anne Victorian is the iron fence in the front yard. Since retiring, Craig has started a decorative iron business (Vintage Ironworks). This iron fence is a shining example of his work. The only one of its kind, the fence was designed, built and installed by Craig.

When driving by the home, it's not unusual to see something unique and exciting being done to the property. It's obvious that the owners are dedicated in their quest to make this Queen Anne picture perfect.
