Minerva McAllister to Wed Elmer L. Daniel at Family Home
This evening at 6 o'clock in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. McAllister, 413 Fifty avenue, Rock Falls, their only daughter, Minerva C. will become the bride of Elmer Lee Daniel of Rock Falls, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Daniel of Philadelphia, Ill. Rev. A.E. Simester of Prophetstown formerly pastor of the Rock Falls Methodist church, will read the single ring service.
The couple will take their places before a bower of ferns and palms at the large window in the living room to exchange their vows. Mrs. John Keith and Robert Callighan, cousins of the bride-to-be will be their attendants. The wedding march and music will be played by Miss Lola Gettie, and Miss Sue Gettie will sing "Love is My Heart".
For her wedding gown Miss McAllister has chosen white raised brocade in heavy crepe, fashioned in colonial style with a high neck in the back, short puff sleeves and buttons from the neckline in front to the waist. The full skirt will touch the floor and in the back at the waist is a large bow to give the bustle effect. Across the back of her hair Miss McAllister will wear a wreath of white flowers. her slippers will be gold and she will carry a colonial bouquet.
Mrs. Keith will be attired in a white lace gown, floor length, with a blue jacket. her slippers are to be silver and her bouquet in colonial design. The bride's mother will wear navy blue sheer and a shoulder corsage of sweet peas.
A dinner and reception for 40 guests will follow the ceremony in the home. On the bride's table will be a beautiful crystal candelabra for the centerpiece. The smaller tables will have the crystal candlesticks to match. Nut cups are to be in yellow and white. Misses Sue and Lola Gettle will serve the dinner.
The bride-to-be is a popular and attractive Rock Falls girl, where she attended school and was graduated from Rock Falls Township high school in '32. She also graduated from the Scovill schools and is employed in the office of Lawrence Bros.
Mr. Daniel received his education in the schools at Virginia, Ill. where he finished high school. He has made a host of friends since coming to this community. He is employed at the Bonded Oil station in Sterling.
The couple will make their home at 307 Seventh avenue, Rock Falls.
Out of town wedding guests will be: Mrs. Ruth Ryan, Kanakee, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shaffer and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Huston, Philadelphia, Ill.
