Babrowski - Brooks Wedding
Gladys Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brooks, and Barney Babrowski of Kewanee were united in marriage at St. Catherine's Church in this city, July 17th at 9 a.m. Rev. A.M. Weitekamp read the single ring ceremony. They were attended by the groom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Babrowski of Kewanee.

The bride was attired in a blue Bemberg dress with white accessories and wore a corsage of white carnations. She wore a string of pearls that had been her grandmother's. The attendant wore a two-piece tan dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. Mrs. Babrowski attended Prophetstown schools and is now employed at the Kozy Nook. Mr. Babrowski attended the Kewanee schools and is employed at the Prince Castles at Sterling.

A dinner was served to the immediate family and a few friends in the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony. The couple will make their home with her parents south of this city.

Boyle - Trump Wedding
Mrs. J.H. Woods of Tampico has received announcement of the marriage of her sister, Miss Dorothy Trump of Waverly, N.Y. to Eugene F. Boyle, also of Waverly. The ceremony, which took place Friday, Nov.15, was followed by a wedding dinner and reception, after which the young couple went to Boston, Mass., for a week. Mrs. Boyle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Trump of Waverly, and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Brown of Tampico, having made her home here for a number of years and attended the local schools.

Mr. Boyle is the proprietor of a restaurant in Waverly. The couple will make their home at 420 Spalding street, Waverly. They have the congratulations and best wishes of their Tampico relatives and friends for a happily married life.

Brown - Van DeMark Wedding
Miss Mary Van De Mark of Sterling and Burdette Brown of Manlius Married on Thursday

At a simple home wedding which took place at 11 o’clock at the Fred Van De Mark home, Fourth Avenue, Thursday. Miss Mary Van De Mark became the bride of Burdette Brown of Manlius. The ceremony was performed at 11 o’clock by the Rev. H.C. Brown of Polo, formerly of Sterling. After the marriage rites, a two-course luncheon was served to the immediate family and a few relatives. The couple left on the 1:10 p.m. Northwestern train for a brief wedding trip.

The bride has been employed as bookkeeper in the Tampico State Bank for the past four years. Mr. Brown is a graduate of the University of Illinois school of pharmacy. He recently purchased a drug store at Manlius where the two will make their home. Mr. Brown resided in Tampico until recently. Out-of-town guests at the affair were Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brown of Tampico, parents of the groom; Miss Irene Walker of Tampico, niece of the groom; and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Van De Mark and son, LaVerne, of Prophetstown.

Brubaker - Topping Wedding
At the Presbyterian parsonage, this city, on Wednesday evening, October 22, 1890, by Rev. J.W. Skinner, Mr. Miles Brukbaker of Mt. Pleasant township, and Miss Cora Topping of Morrison.

Burns - Boyer Wedding
At the residence of the bride's father, Feb. 22, 1883, by Rev. W.A. Broadhurst, Mr. Clark Burns and Miss Myrta Boyer, both of Union Grove.

At this wedding a large number of invited guests were present. The refreshments were very fine and the presents were numerous and elegant.

Deets - Snyder Wedding
Miss June Snyder of near Morrison and Clarence Deets of Emerson were married Dec. 24, 1935, at the Presbyterian manse at Waterloo, Ia., according to an announcement made by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Snyder.

The single ring service was used. The bride graduated from the Morrison high school with the class of 1932, and later attended Dekaib Normal. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Deets of Emerson, and after completing his schooling at Emerson, graduated from the Sterling township high school. He is employed in Sterling, where they will make their home. Their many friends extend congratuations.

Detra - Bursk Wedding
There was a very neat time at the home of Joseph Bursk, on Sixth avenue last evening. Fully a half hundred, and, tis though one half more, assembled, as guests to the nuptials of Mr. Bursk's daughter, Lillian, to Mr. Mahlon Detra, Rev. Abram Grader, a Dunkard preacher of Malver, performed the ceremony; the parents on both sides being of the Dunkard persuasion.

The ceremony was performed at eight o'clock and then followed an evening of rare enjoyment and a splendid wedding supper. A score of the groom's friends were in from Malvern, that place being the home of the senior Detra and until some months ago claimed the groom. Of late he has been in the employ of the Sterling Mfg. company and has proven himself a worthy young man.

The young couple will at once go to housekeeping in a neat little home cornering on avenue G, and Eights street;

Detra - Wells Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents in Clyde township, Whiteside county, Ill., Dec. 24th 1885, by Rev. Mr. Harris, Mr. William F. Detra and Miss Irena M. Wells, both of Clyde.

Dixon - Steinmeyer Wedding
In Morrison, at the residence of Mr. C.N. Hurless, on Saturday evening, January 16, 1886, by Rev. James Frothingham, Mr. E.L. Dixon and Miss Effie Steinmeyer, both of Morrison.

Dodd - Shearer Wedding
Friends of Miss Lucille Shearer of Tampico and Eugene D. Dodd of Rock Falls were given a pleasant surprise during holiday week when the young couple announced their marriage of last September at Litchfield, Ill. The ceremony was performed in the Presbyterian parsonage by the pastor, Rev. C.N. Griffin, on September 28, 1928. The couple were unattended.

Mrs. Dodd is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Shearer of near Tampico and has lived there all her life. She attended the Tampico grade schools and is a graduate of the Tampico township high school in the class of 1928. She has attended Blackburn college at Carlinville, Ill. since last September and is a member of the Philomatheans of that college.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dodd of Rock Falls, and is a mason by trade. The happy couple will be at home to their friends in Rock Falls after Jan 1, 1929

Edlund - Johnson Wedding
A single ring wedding ceremony uniting Marie Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Johnson and Carl A. Edlund took place in the Methodist church parsonage Friday at 11 a.m. (17 Jul 1943), the Rev. John E. Robeson reading the ceremony. The couple was unattended.

Mrs. Edlund wore a two-piece aqua crepe dress with white accessories. She carried a white silk handkerchief that her mother carried at her wedding 40 years ago. The couple left immediately after the ceremony for Grinnell, Ia., where they visited in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Beechel, over the weekend. They will occupy the downstairs front apartment in the tascher building.

Marie attended Bureau county schools and for the past few years has been employed in Prophetstown. Carl attended Riverside school and is employed at the Eclipse Defense Factory.

Finkle - Wombwell Wedding
Miss Virginia Wombwell, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Wombwell 1837 First St. became the bride of Edward Finkle only son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Finkle of Coleta yesterday afternoon at a 4 o'clock ceremony at the First Christian Church the Rev. Martin Brown read the nuptials. The bride wore a street length two piece blue crepe dress with cap sleeves and a fitted bodice. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations mingled wiht baby's breath. Palm and lighted tapers formed a background along with soft organ music by Miss Lois Fellows. Mrs. Alfred Tice presented "Always" and "Oh Promise Me". Miss Thelma L. Duts served as matron of honor, Kenneth Long was best man. Mrs. Finkle has been employed in the office of F.W. Woolworth and is a graduate of Dixon HS, Mr. Finkle farms with his father. A wedding dinner featured a 3 tier cake, served at Skip's dining rooms following the ceremony. Those present were; The Harry Conrads of Polo, The Frank Hornings, William Larkeys, of Morrison; Rev. & Mrs. Martin Brown, Miss Lois Fellows, Mrs. Alfred Tice, Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. Don Gaor and Mrs. Thelma Deets all of Dixon; Mrs. Kenneth Long of Sterling; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Finkle of Coleta. The newlyweds left for a honeymoon in California and will will be at home in Coleta after April 1. (The Dixon Evening Telegraph 14 January 1946).

Fisher - Newton Wedding
Miss Margaret Mae Newton daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Newton of Rock Falls, and Robert Lee Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fisher of Dixon, were married Saturday evening (14 Jul 1945) in the parsonage of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Dixon, by the Rev. Mr. Curran.

Mrs. Robert William of DesMoines IA., and William Harden of Dixon, attended the couple. Mrs. Fisher a graduate of Rock Falls High School has been employed several years as Window Decorator for the Scott Burr Stores Corp. Mr. Fisher a Dixon alumnus is engaged in farming with his father.

Fitch - Schmoeger Wedding
The wedding of Clare Fitch and Miss Annie Schmoeger, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Schmoeger, of this city, took place at six o'clock last evening at the home of the groom's sister, Mrs. Warren Cole, in Rock Falls. Rev. Frank H. Gardner, pastor of the Methodist church of that place officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Fitch are at present the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cole, but will soon be at home to their friends in a nest of their own on Fifth avenue. The wedding was a quiet one.

Gammon - Deets Wedding
A double ring ceremony in St. Mary Church Wednesday morning united in marriage Miss Susan Deets, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Deets, north of Emerson and David Gammon, son of Mrs. William Ohda of Sterling. Rev. F. J. Larson performed the rite at 11 o'clock with organ music accompanying.

Attending the bride was Mrs. Gail Deets, her sister-in-law as matron of honor. Timothy Buckley, friend of the bridegroom,w as groomsman.

The bride chose an ice blue street length dress trimmed in bows and lace and blue and white accessories. her bouquet was red roses and white carnations. The matron of honor wore a white dress trimmed in lace and shoulder corsage of carnations. After a honeymoon in Wisconsin the newlyweds will reside in Douglas Park .

Heck - Dahlstedt Wedding
Alvin E. Heck, Jr., of Morrison and Beverly Dahlstedt of Altona were united in marriage at 7:30 Wednesday evening at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Dahlstedt of Altona, Ill. The Rev. Everette Walker of Galesburg performed the single ring service, with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Masters of Altona, brother-in-law and sister of the bride in attendance.

The bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Heck of Chicago and is a science instructor in the Morrison junior high school, and assistant high school athletic coach. He graduated from Knox college last spring, where he was a prominent member of the football squad. He was active in the Y.M.C.A. boys’ work there, and through this became acquainted with the Rev. Mr. Walker, who is the boys’ work secretary in the organization at Galesburg.

After the ceremony the newly weds left for Chicago to spend the Thanksgiving holidays, and will return to Morrison Sunday, where they will make their home at 505 West Wall street. Wednesday morning, the junior high school pupils and faculty held an informal surprise party for Mr. Heck.

Hellerstedt - Barnum Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Barnum, on Thursday July 12, 1888, by Rev. W.J. Libberton, Mr. Charles A. Hellerstedt of Princeton, Ill., and Miss Hattie T. Barnum of Union Grove IL.

A large number of invited guests were present to witness the n uptial ceremony. The bride has always lived in Union Grove and is well known. Mr. Hellerstedt was formerly of this city, in business with his brother. He is now engaged in the manufactory of carriages at Princeton, Ill., to which place they went on Monday morning and commenced keeping house. The Sentinel joins with their friends in wishing them happiness and prosperity.

High - Topping Wedding
At the Galt House, Sterling on April 3, 1890 by Rev. W.J. Libberton of this city, Mr. David G. High and Miss Ida M. Topping both of Morrison. Mr.High is a clerk in the dry goods store of Brown Bro's and the bride is a young lady who will no doubt be a fitting help-mate to the man of her choice.

Hill - Mensch Wedding
The prettiest wedding of the season was solemnized at high noon tody at St. John's Lutheran Church when Miss Laura Belle Mensch became the bride of Arthur Russel Hill. A number of intimate friends besides relatives of the immediate families of the young couple witness the ceremony. The double ring service was performed by Rev. E. C. Harris pastor of the church.

The rostrum of the church was a mass of palms and ferns, which furnished a background for the bridal party. Prior to the entrance of the party, Mrs. Harry Stizel of Dixon sany a solo, "Because." To the strains of Mendellsohn's Wedding March played by Mrs. Julius Linn, the bridal party took their places. Howard Ray and Arthur Cassens were ushers and lead the procession, followed by little Miss Helen Bailey, niece of the bride, who acted as ring bearer carrying the rings in a lily. Misses Florence Ebersole and Bertha Talbert were bridesmaids and Miss Hazel Smith was maid of honor. They were immediately followed by the bride who was lead to the altar by her father. At the altar they were met by the groom and his attendant Arthur Landis.

Hollis - Howerter Wedding
Miss Betty Howerter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Howerter, Ellisville, Ill., (Fulton Co IL) became the bride of Berton Hollis, son of Rev. and Mrs. Willard Hollis of Rock Falls, in the pretty nuptial ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Ellisville Church of the Nazarene. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Hollis, the father of the bridegroom, assisted by the Rev. Allen Dace, pastor of the Ellisville Church. Candelabra and baskets of white mums decorated the church for the wedding service, when Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Howerter, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, sang I Love You Truly, Whither Thou Goest and The Lord's Prayer, while the couple knelt for the ceremony. The pianist was Avis Howerter. Attending the bride were Mrs. Verlin Millage, Mahomet, as matron of honor, while her bridesmaids were Mrs. Allen Dace, Ellisville, Mrs. Paul Aurand, Kankakee and Mrs. Arthur Lonberger, Champaign. The bridegroom was attended by Robert Anspach of Rock Falls as best man, while the groomsmen were Cavitt Hollis, Paul Aurand and Verlin Millage. The flower girls were Peggy Millage of Mahomet and Betty Schorey of Monroeville, Ind. The ushers in the church were Paul Aurand of Kankakee and Cavitt Hollis of Ellisville.

The bride was attired in an all white gown with a Sabrina neckline with sequins at the neck, long tapered lace sleeves, a fitted lace bodice and ruffled net skirt over satin, with a chapel train. The bride's flowers were red roses on a white Bible. The attendants dresses were similar, of aqua crystallete over taffeta, and they carried bouquets of white carnations. Mrs. Howerter, mother of the bride, wore a gray dress, with black accessories and wore a red rose corsage, while Mrs. Hollis, the bridegroom's mother, was dressed in navy, with black accessories, and her corsage was also of red roses. Aqua and white were the colors used in carrying out the decorations for the reception, with a feature being the four-tiered wedding cake, topped with a minature bride and bridegroom figurine. Mary Abbot of Kankakee cut the cake and those serving were Jo Ann Dace, St. Louis, Mo., Emma Muir, Ellisville, Helen Barrick, Dwight, Doris Smith, Kankakee, Mrs. Ray Howerter, Ellisville and Mrs. Sherman Hunter, Duguque, Ia. For their honeymoon the young couple motored to Hannibal, Mo., and their residence will be at 1510 10th Ave., Rock Falls. Both the bride and bridegroom graduated from Valley Senior High School of Fairview, Ill. The bride had been employed in Champaign, while the bridegroom is employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., here. Guests at the wedding were from Ellisville, Fairview, Cuba, Canton, Peoria, Smithfield, Toulon, Rock Falls, Sterling, Champaign, Mahomet, Kankakee, St. Louis, Mo., Dubuque, Ia., and Monroeville, Ind.

Housenga - Eizenga Wedding
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Klaas Eisenga in Garden Plain was the scene of a pretty wedding Thursday forenoon (14 January 1909) at eleven o'clock, when their daughter Miss Ada Eizenga, was married to Harry Huizenga of Fulton. The ceremony was performed by Rev. William Wolvins and was witnessed by a number of friends of the young couple. The bride is an attractive and worthy young lady. The groom is a reliable and industrious young farmer. After receiving the congratulations of their friends a bountiful wedding repast was served. Mr. and Mrs. Huizenga will reside on the Mrs. A.J. Stowell farm in Gardenplain. Their friends unite in wishing them much happiness and prosperity.

Hummell - Law Wedding
The marriage of Alice Mae Law of Rock Falls and Harold L. Hummell of Sterling took place in Tampico Monday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J.C. Weir, at the Tampico Christian church parsonage about 1:45 o'clock.

Mrs. Hummell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Law of Tampico. Mr. Hummell, an employee of the Northwestern Barb Wire Co., is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hummell of Sterling.

James - Wells Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wells of Clyde, on Tuesday evening, September 2, 1890, by Rev. Kaegle, Mr. Samuel James and Miss Agnes Wells, both of Clyde. May their pathway through life be always bright and joyous.

Jaquet - Farster Wedding
The wedding of Miss Vivian Farster of Woosung to Pvt. Keith Jaquet of Coleta was solemnized saturday morning at the home of Rev. W.E.Thompson, pastor of the Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Jaquet was attired in an aqua blue suit, wearing a corsage of red rosebuds. Her attendent Miss Kathryn Jaquet, sister of the groom, wore a dress of fushia and corsage of yellow pom poms. The best man, a close friend of the groom was Lovell Jaquet of Sterling. The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farster of Woosung is employed at the Freeman Shoe Co. Pvt. Jaquet, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Jaquet of Coleta has just returned from overseas. He will report soon for further assignment. The newlyweds left for a short honeymoon in Chicago.

Hymen - Kingman Wedding
At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. M.F. Barnum in Mt. Pleasant township on Thursday Jan. 14, 1886, by Rev. A.H. Miller of Morrison, Mr. George Hymen and Miss Minnie Kingman both of this city.

At this wedding which took place in the afternoon of a most pleasant day, at the County Infirmary, a large number of invited guests were in attendance to participate in the festivities of the hour which were prepared for on an elaborate scale.

After the ceremony the usual congratulations were extended to Mr. and Mrs. Hymen, until supper was announced, which was found to be one of those exceedingly fine ones for which Mr. and Mrs. Barnum enjoy an enviable reputation. After supper the time was spent in social converse and in viewing the wedding presents until a seasonable hour when Mr. and Mrs. Hymen departed for Morrison where they commenced their new life by entering at once into housekeeping.

Johnson - Welch Wedding
Mrs. Dorothy Welch, Rock Falls, and formerly of Dixon, and Lawrence Johnson, Sterling were wed Saturday afternoon, April 16 at 3 o'clock. Rev. Harry Schiffer pastor of the Rock Falls Christian church, performed the double ring ceremony at his home. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. William Welch, Dixon, the brides son and daughter-in-law. With her powder blue suit, the bride wore black and white accessories. Mrs. Welch wore a pink suit with navy accessories. They both wore corsages of pink carnations. A reception for the immediate family was held at the Forrest Inn near Morrison. Decorating the table was a two-tiered cake topped with a miniature bridge and groom. The newlyweds are residing at the Coloma Court, Rock Falls.

Kant - Riley Wedding
Miss Lillie Riley daughter of Mrs. Walter Riley, Rock Falls, and William Kant, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Kant of Amboy were married Sunday January 4, (1948) in Rock Falls Congregational Church by the Rev. LeRoy Fielding. They will spend their honeymoon in the southern part of the United States and in Mexico and later live on a farm near Amboy.

Kreider - Stouffer Wedding
There was a pleasant wedding last evening (7 Dec. 1893) at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Nice, No. 1011 Second avenue, the contracting couple being John H. Kreider and Annie Stouffer. The groom is a well known and highly respected young farmer living just east of the city, owning a pleasant place where the couple will reside. Mrs. Kreider came from Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, about two years ago, and has won for herself many friends here since then.

McFarlane - Fisk Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents in Unionville, on Thursday January 16, 1890, by Rev. W.J. Libberton, Mr. William M. McFarlane of Hatton, N.Dakota, and Mis Emma J. Fisk, of Unionville, Il.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of near relatives and a few intimate friends. After congratulations had been bestowed on the happy couple, the guests were invited to the dining room where a wedding supper had been prepared. The wedded pair were made the recipients of appropriate gifts. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Fisk of Unionville. The groom is a promising young man, and is a telegraph operator in Hatton. He is also station agent at that place on the M. & M.R. R. They left on Friday morning for Chicago to visit friends and today will leave for their northern home. The friends will wish them peace and prosperity for a long life of usefulness.

Meiners - Rohde Wedding
A single ring ceremony Wednesday united Gladys Rohde and Gerhard Meiners, Jr., both of Genesee township in the bonds of matrimony at the St. Paul Lutheran parsonage, Rev. G.H. Doermann officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rohde, Jr., while the gridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Meiners of Sterling. A sister of the bride, Ruth Rohde, attended as bridesmaid and Clarence Meiners served as best man.

The bride was attired in a gown of Copenhagen blue, and the bridesmaid was gowned in dusty rose. Both wore shoulder corsages of spring flowers. The ceremony was followed by a wedding supper at the home of the bride's parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Meiners will reside in White Pigeon in the home of the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Harm Fredricks.

Mensch - Leffert Wedding
William Mensch of First avenue, a well known retired farmer of this city, and Miss Anna Leffert, for several years a leading teacher in the Sterling School, will be married at 5 'clock this afternoon (01 Jan 1896) at the Lutheran parsonage, by Rev. E. Brown. They will probably go to housekeeping at once at Mr. Mensch's comfortable home.

The groom, who is over sixty years of age, has been a widower for some years. He removed to Sterling several years ago from Hopkins township, where he was long a leading citizen. The bride possesses a large circle of friends, many of whom have been her pupils in this city and at Galt. May good fortune always attend them.

Norman - Adams Wedding
On Tuesday, December 27, at the hour of 10:30, Miss Marjorie Adams became the bride of Elbert Norman. The single ring ceremony was read at the parsonage by Rev. H.T. Chenoweth, pastor of the M.E. church in Morrison. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Wetzell who were bridesmaid and best man. The bride was very pretty in a dress of blue georgette with silver trimming and the bridesmaid wore a dress of black satin with trimings of blue. Imediately after the ceremony the party motored to Geneseo where a wedding dinner was served at the home of Mr. adn Mrs. James Startman at 1 o'clock. Later in the day, Mr. and Mrs. Norman left via motor for Louisville, Ky., where they will make their home. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Mary Adams of Tampico and has always lived here. She is a young lady who was very popular with her friends and she will be missed by them. The Groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Norman of Deer Grove and is also well known in this vicinity. He has been assisting his father on the farm. Mr. and Mrs. Norman start their life with the best wishes of a host of friends.

Owens - Hasselmann Wedding
St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Yorktown was the setting for the marriage of Miss Emma Lucille Hasselmann, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hasselmann of Tampico when she exchanged wedding vows with Pvt. Donald D. Owens son of Mrs. Mary Haas of Sterling at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon (29 Nov. 1944).

Ferns and Palms intermingled with white pompom chrysanthemums and two seven branch candleabra formed the background at the altar. Rev. Clarence J. Gess officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The new Mrs. Owens is a graduate of Tampico High School and was graduated from Lorene's School of Beauty Culture. Her husband enlisted in the service in July and has been stationed at Camp Wheeler, Ga. He will report at Ft. George G. Meade MD on Dec. 10.

The bride wore a gown of white marquisette fashioned with fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and full skirt. Wide lace formed the belt and the skirt was paneled with lace. She wore a fingertip veil caught by a beaded halo. Hohanna Hill roses centered with orchids formed her bouquet.

Those from this vicinity attending the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Rinehart of Dixon and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murray and Miss Verle Renner of Walnut.

Puddifoot - Guffin Wedding
At the Hotel Vroom in this city on Thursday evening, Jan. 16, 1890, by Rev.O.G. Colegrove, Mr. Charles H. Puddifoot and Miss Sadie A. Guffin, both of Morrison Ill.

The nuptil contract was solemnized in the presence of the relatives and intimate friends. After congratulaton had been extended for the happy couple they repaired to the dining room where an excellent feast had been prepared for the occassion.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. H. Guffin of this city and is a graduate of the Morrison High School. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Puddifoot also of this city. He is a clerk in the Chicago Clothing Co.' store, and is well known in Morrison and vicinity. The many friends extend contratulations and wishes for them a prosperous and happy future.

Robertson - Ogsbury Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents in Unionville, on New Year's evening, 1890, by Rev. W. J. Libberton, Mr. Wm. J. Robertson of Mt. Pleasant township, and Miss Mary E. Ogsbury of Unionville.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. After congratulations had been extended to the happy pair, the guests were invited to the dining room where a sumptuous feast had been prepared for the occassion. Many valuable and useful gifts were given ty the friends. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson left on the limited on Thursday morning for a trip to Philadelphia pa., and Hamilton Ontario.

The groom is a prominent young farmer of Mt. Pleasant township and the bride is a daughter of Mr. adn Mrs. F. Ogsbury of Unionville. She has been a teacher in our country schools for several years. Many friends join in wishing them happiness.

Robertson - Shear Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Shear of this city, on Thursday, Feb. 20, 1890 by Rev. J. W. Skinner, Mr. Geo. P. Robertson of Mt. Pleasant, and Miss Rachel A. Shear of Morrison.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of quite a number of relatives and intimate friends of the contracting parties. A large number of useful presents were given the happy couple. The Sentinel joins the friends in wishing them a life of peace and plenty.

Russell - Kramer Wedding
Miss Elizabeth Jean Kramer of Dixon and Wayne Leroy Russell of Rock Falls were united in marriage at 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the parsonage of the Rock Falls Christian Church.

The single ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Harry E. Shiffer. Attending the couple were the bridegrooms mother, Mrs.Marie Russell and his sister Mrs.Betty Gallentine.

Sands - Maxfield Wedding
At the residence of the bride's parents, near Round Grove Station, Dec. 24th 1885, by Rev. F.M. Williams, Mr. Fred L. Sands and Miss Minnie E. Maxfield. About 70 persons were present to participate in the pleasant occassion. The presents were numerous and vainable, and the wedded couple start out in life under the most promising circumstances, and with best wishes from a host of friends.

Schipper - Elmendorf Wedding
The marriage of Miss Laura Catherine Elmendorf and John Lee Schipper, of Morrison, was solemnized at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, May 3, at the Methodist parsonage. The single ring service was read by the pastor, Rev. H.T. Chenoweth.

The young couple were attended by a sister of the bride, Miss Vera Elmendorf, and Abel Renkes of Morrison. The bride’s gown was a spring model of shell pink georgette, her attendant wearing a pretty frock of Nile green crepe. Mr. and Mrs. Schipper left soon after the ceremony on a short eastern motor journey, the bride choosing for traveling a modish spring suit of black and white. They will return to Morrison early in the week and go to housekeeping in the Hammer bungalow at 509 South Base street.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Elmendorf, residing southwest of Morrison. She received her education in the schools of the city and following her graduation from the high school took a course of business training in Sterling. For the past two years she has held a clerical position in the Wilkinson abstract office at Morrison. The groom is the son of Mrs. John Sugarbaker of Morrison. He also is a graduate of the local high school and for the past several months has been employed as substitute clerk and carrier at the Morrison post office. The many friends of the young people in their home community extend to them all good wishes for future happiness.

On this pleasurable occasion a large number of relatives and invited guests were present, a fine supper was served, the presents wer numerous and valuable.

Snyder - Opheim Wedding
August 1918, Iowa City, IA - FULTON NEWS -Miss Hilda Opheim and Dr. Byron Snyder, two well known Fulton young folks, were married Monday at Iowa City. The ceremony was performed by Dr. William Gardner, a former pastor of the Presbyterian church at Fulton. The young people returned to Fulton and will live in the Barber flats on Eleventh avenue.

Snyder - McAlvin Wedding
Fulton, Ill Newspaper--Earl C. Snyder will be married this evening (23 Sep 1932 Waterloo Iowa), his bride, Miss Helen McAlvin of Waterloo. The ceremony is to take place in the home of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Snyder, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Drury and Mrs. B. J. Snyder are in Waterloo to attend the nuptials. They will reside in Fulton.

Spafford - Smith Wedding
At the residence of the bride's mother in this city, on Tuesday morning, June 24, 1890, by Rev. J.W. Skinner, Hon. Dwight S. Spafford and Miss Alice Smith, both of Morrison.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of the near relatives and a few intimate friends. The bride is a daughter of the late Leander Smith and is well known to Morrison society. The groom is one of the prominent merchants of this city and has been a resident here for many years. The bridal couple left on the overland train Tuesday morning for the East. They will go up the St. Lawrence river, visiting at many places along its course, thennce to Nantucket and other points on the eastern coast, returning by way of saratoga, Niagara Falls, arriving at geneva Lake, Wis., some time in July. They will be "at home" to their friends in this city after August 1st. Their many friends unite in wishing them a long life of happiness.

Temple - Flikkema Wedding
Miss Anna Flikkema, Thursday (23 January 1913) became the bride of Jacob D. Temple, Gardenplain

Thursday afternoon at two o'clock the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Flikkema of Fifteenth avenue, A marriage of their daughter, Miss Anna Flikkema and Jacob D. Temple of Gardenplain was solemnized.

The ceremony which was witnessed by a number of friends of the young couple was performed by Rev. M. R. ______, and at the conclusion congratulations were rendered the happy couple. A most inviting wedding dinner was served to assembled guest.

The bride is an attractive and winsome young lady and the young man she has chosen as her husband, who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Temple, well-known residents of Gardenplain, is a reliable young farmer of good habits.

After a bridal trip they will go to housekeeping on a farm in Gardenplain.

Terveld - Eizenga Wedding
John Terveld and Miss Anna Eizenga Married Thursday, February 18, 1909

The marriage of John Terveld and Miss Anna Eizenga, both of Gardenplain, took place Thursday afternoon at the home of the brides parents Klaas Eizenga in Gardenplain. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Brockstra of Morrison in the presence of a number of friends of the young couple. Following the services a bountiful wedding dinner was served. The bride is a prepossessing young woman and is possessed of many excellent traits of character and the one she has chosen as her life partner is an industrious and reliable man. They will reside in Gardenplain where the bridegroom has leased a farm and will engage in farming. Prosperity and a long and happy life is wished of their many friends.

Taber - Sawyer Wedding
Miss Ruth Sawyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sawyer of Prophetstown and Raymond Taber of Hoopale, repeated nuptial vows Saturday afternoon (6 Oct 1945)at 2 o'clock at the home of Rev. A.E. Simester in Prophetstown. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ver Dick, brother-in-law and sister of the bride. The bride wore a white net, street length dress with black accessories and a yellow gold band ring that belonged to her mother.Her corsage was of white carnations and red roses. Mrs.Ver Dick chose a yellow net dress and wore white carnations at her shoulder. A wedding dinner was served at a local cafe to members of the bridal party, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sawyer and Mr. and Mrs. William Katehnig. The table was centered with a wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Decorations were in pink white and yellow. Both Mr. and Mrs. Taber attended school in Whiteside county. Mr. Taber who is engaged in farming and his bride will make their home in Hoopale.

Trump - Walker Wedding
On New Year’s Eve Clayton E. Trump f this city was married to Mrs. Amy Walker at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brown of Tampico. Rev. Brown, pastor of the Tampico Methodist church performed the ceremony the presence of only the immediate family and a few friends. Following the ceremony the bride’s mother served a three course wedding dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Trump came to Sterling and took the train to Chicago where they will spend their honeymoon. Mr. Trump is the manager of the Superior Motor Car Co., in this city and he and his wife will reside here.

Vennum - Miller Wedding
At the M.E. Parsonage, Plainfield Ill., on Tuesday Marcy 18, 1890 by Rev. A.H. Miller, Mr. Edward Vennum of Union Grove and Mrs. Mary Newton Miller of Sterling. The goom is a prominent and well known farmer of Union Grove, this county and the bride has been a resident of serling for many years. Mrs. M.V. Card of this township and Miss Mary Teller of Morrison were present to witness the ceremony.

Wetzell - Kennedy Wedding
At the residence of the bride's father, Mr. Wm. Kennedy of Clyde, on Thursday, February 20, 1890, by Rev. W.J. Libberton, Mr. Jacob Wetzell, Jr. of Genesee and miss Julia Kennedy of Clyde. The nuptial contract was solemnized int presence of many relatives and friends.

Woellert - Bohm Wedding
Miss Eileen Bohm, only daughter of Mrs. Caroline Bohm, Tampico, became the bride of Carl Woellert elder son of Charles Woellert also of Tampico, in a simple, yet impressive service on Wednesday morning July 4th at the Second Avenue Luthern Church of Sterling. Rev. Edler Mueller officiated, reading the double ring ceremony at 11 o'clock. The bride chose a light blue suit and navy accessories for her wedding ensemble. Her corsage was of pink carnations and she wore a gold cross and chain, the gift of the bridegroom Miss Dorothy Jacobs of Dixon, attended as brides maid. She wore a frock of Copenhagen blue and her corsage was also pink carnations. Frederick Woellert of Tampico acted as his brothers best man. Following a wedding dinner for the bridal party, Mr. and Mrs. Woellert left on a short wedding trip, and upon their return will reside on a farm near Tampico. Mrs. Woellert who attended the schools of Bureau county is a graduate of State Teachers College at DeKalb and has since been teaching in the Whiteside schools. Mr. Woellert received his education in the school near Ottawa and for several years has been engaged in farming near Tampico.

Wyckstrandt - Williams Wedding
Miss Delores Mae Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Williams of Rock Falls and Emil A. Wyckstrandt, son of Alfonse Wyckstrandt of Morrison were married Jan. 9 (1948) in the rectory of St. Catherines Church Prophetstown. After a short wedding trip they will live at 507 7th Avenue, Rock Falls.
