Wedding Announcement

Walter Plautz & Emma Sandrock

A beautiful wedding ceremony was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sandrock, near Prophetstown Tuesday evening when their daughter, Miss Emma, became the bride of Walter Plautz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Plautz, well known farmers south of Rock Falls. The service was read at five-thirty o'clock by the Rev. W.E. Drebs, pastor of the Rock Falls Lutheran church. One hundred and fifty guests relatives and friends of the bridal pair, were preent for the occassion. The home was prettily decorated in the bride's chosen colors, lavender and white.

At the appointed hour the bride's sister, Mrs. William UFKIN, played Lohengrin's wedding march, as the bridal party descended the stairway and took their places. Little Darlene Sandrock, a sister of the bride, was the flower girl. She mcarried the wedding ring in the heart of a rose. The attendants to the young couple were miss Irene Sandrock, cousin of the bride, and Harold Plautz brother of the groom. The bride and groom plighted their marriage vows in a corner of the living room, under a canopy of lavender and white streamers and a large white wedding bell. On a flower stand at either side was placed a potted fern. Following the ceremony the bridal couple received a season of congratulations from their relatives and friends.

The bride was constumed in a lovely gown of peach georgette over silk. The trimmings of her gown were gold lace and bead fringe. She wore a tulle veil which reached to the hem of the gown and fastened to her head with a bandau of ribbon flowers. Her flowers were an arm bouuet of delicate pink rose buds and narcissus, intermingled with baby breath. The bridesmaid more a frock of lavender satin crepe trimmed in silver lace. She wore a corsage bouquet of pink and white carnations. The little flower girl wore a frock of white.

A three course elaborate wedding dinner was served at three long tables. Decorations were carried out in lavender and white. The centerpiece of the bride's table was a four-tier bride's cake. A large wedding bell hung from the ceiling. The dainty nutcups and place cards were carried out in the color scheme. The centerpieces of the other tables were large bowls of fruit.

The girls, who served were, Mrs. Lucille Pearson Plautz, Mrs. Helen Oltman Dietz, Mrs. Hazel Plautz Sandrock, Misses Hattie Ufkin, Bernice Pearson, Anna and Ethel Kunde, Ida Roseling adn Irene Nelson.

The evening hours were delightfully spent in card playing and games. A crowd of young men present favored with a program of vocal music. During the evening a crowd gave the newlyweds a charivarl. At midnight the bride's cake was cut and a lunch was served. The guests departed early in the morning hours for their homes.

The young couple received many beautiful and useful gifts for their new home.

The bride is a charming young girl and has a wide circle of friends, who wish her much happiness and joy. The groom is a prosperous young farmer who is held in high esteem by all who know him. The couple expect to make their home on the O.Oltman Farm south of Rock Falls. They will be at home there to their friends after February 1st.

Kentucky Lady
