Wedding Announcement
OF
John R. Wiersema to Phyllis Achterhof

Mrs. Phyllis Achterhof daughter of Mrs. Jacob Achterhof of Morrison and John R. Wiersema son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wiersema southeasat of Morrison were married at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parsonage (17 Oct 1944) of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. The Rev. Harry L. Brower performed the double ring ceremony. The couple was attended by George Lartz of Savanna brother-in-law and sister of the bride.

A gold colored fall suit with brown accessories was worn by the bride with an orchid pinned to her shoulder. Mrs. Lartz was attired in a dark blue wool suit and black accessories. In her corsage were roses. The brides mother wore a dress of medium blue and the bridegrooms mother was in black. Their accessories were black and their corsages were of white pompoms.

A weddding supper was served in the Brick House in Morrison where covers were laid for 11 guests. A white decorated wedding cake centered the table. Other guests besides the bridal pair were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Achterhof of Cambridge, brother of the bride, Miss Dorothy Wiersema, the bridegrooms sister, and Richard Digby of Morrison.

Mrs Wiersema graduated from Morrison High School in 1942 and is employed at Green River Ordance Plant. Mr. Wiersema attended Chicago and Oak Park Schools until he moved with his parents to Morrison. He completed High School at Morrison in the same class with his bride. Later he took an agricultural course at Purdue University, Lafayette Ind. and is now engaged in farming with his father. The newlyweds have taken an apartment in Morrison.
