Hammer, Isaac--merchant

born 1844 in Prussia the s/o Joseph and Pauline. Joseph was born in 1780 and died in 1861 in Prussia. Pauline then came to the US in 1875 and died in St Louis, MO in Sep 1885, She had 8 children. Isaac came to the US in 1859 to Chester, IL, During the Civil War he was in the 3rdMO Inf and later the 3rd MO Cav. After the war he moved tro Memphis, TN. In 1876 he traveled to CA, returning to Murphysboro, IL in 1879. In 1881 he opened a store in Carterville. In 1883 he married Cornilia Brown the d/o John and Martha Brown. Their children in 1887 were Joseph J and Max. (1887).

Harrison, David R--merchant/ Pres 1st National Bank in Herrin

was born 15 Oct 1834 in Herrin, IL the s/o George H and Delila P (Herrin). George was born 11 Jan 1803 in Wilson C, TN the s/o Joshua (B VA) a soldier in the Rev War (Joshua died in 1824. George married in 1833 near Marion and died 12 Jan 1848. He owned a water mill. David's mother was born 02 Feb 1815 in Hopkins Co, KY and died 28 Mar 1899. They had one other child named Louisa. David married Julia A Walker on 10 Jan 1861, She was born 17 Oct 1836 in Wmson Co, IL and died 09 Jul 1874. She was the d/o Matthew and Esther (Moore). Their children were: George H, Anna B, Albert M and Lou Ella. After Julia's death David married Elizabeth H (Fellows) Backus on 18 Nov 1879. She was born 28 May 1839 in NY and died 10 Mar 1899. Hartwell, Lorenzo D--judge

born in Wmson Co, IL. His father was LD, who came from VA in 1839 and died in 1865. He was the father of 8 boys and 4 girls. During the Civil War Lorenzo was in Co F 31st IL, he had 5 brothers in the war. He first married on 30 Apr 1871, (doesn't say who), she left oned child named Edward E. He married a second time to Cora E Simmons on 18 Aug 1878, they had 6 children including, D L the Marion City Atty. (1905)

Hayton, James--physician

born 16 Dec 1815 near Huddersfield, Yorkshire England, the s/o Robert and Ann (Bean). His father died 21 Jul 1860 age 76. His mother died May 1858 age 75, she had 8 children. Both parents died in England. On 10 Jan 1841 James married Elizabeth Crowther in England. James came to the US via New Orleans in 30 Oct 1841. Elizabeth died not long after on 27 Sep 1843 (age 30) after having one child, Alfred. In 1848 James became a US citizen.In Jan 1847 James married Ann Crowther, the sister of his first wife. She was born 1831 and died 01 Jan 1881. He and Ann had 10 children: Arabella, William, George, John, Robert, Joseph, Emma, Mary and 2 infants that died. James died 07 Jul 1904. (1887 &1905)

Hayton, William--farmer

was born 05 Mar 1850 in Bainbridge, IL. His father was Dr James Hayton (see above). He married Belle Baxter on 04 May 1881. She died 02 Jul 1882, leaving one child, Bertha. He then married Cora Fox on 14 Sep 1884. She died 25 Feb 1898 leavinf children: James W, Dora and Morris. His third marriage was to Julia Fox on 06 Oct 1898. (1905)

Hendrickson, Jesse--farmer

born in 1822 in Montgomery Co, TN the s/o John and Eliza (weaver). The father was born 1784 NC and died 1856. His mother was born 1786 NC and died after 1884, she had 12 children. Jesse married in 1845 to Martha Lewis the d/o Elijah and Temperance. Jesse had 6 children: William, Laura, Hartwell, Jesse (d young), Sidney (f) and Martha. (1887)

Hendrickson, Hartwell--circuit clerk

born 02 Sec 1848 the s/o Jesse and Martha Lewis, both bron in TN. During the Civil War Hartwell was in Co E 16th IL Inf. On 06 Mar 1872 he married Nannie (Allen) Goddard. Nannie had 3 children from her first marriage: Eliza W, Harriet and Pauline. With Hartwell she had 4 children: Gussie A, Willis H, Jessie L and Stella M (d young). (1887)

Andrew married Olive in 1836, and she died in 1851. Then he married Narcess Reed. During the Civil War Ephraim was in Co I 128th IL Inf before transferring to the 9th IL. In 1869 he married Fatima Brown the d/o John and Martha. Their children were: John A, Gracie, Mark, Jefferson S and Stella (d young) (1887)

born 1859 in Eight Mile Prec Wmson Co, IL, the s/o William Sr and Esther Ennis. William Sr was born in Bury, Yorkshire, England the s/o John and Mary. Wm Sr came to Wmson Co, IL in 1829 and died in 1859. He married Esther in 1837. She was born in 1820 Montgomery Co, TN and died 06 Oct 1886. Wm Sr had 8 children including one named Robert M. In 1879 William married Cynthia A Walker the d/o Wilson. She died 13 Jul 1882, leaving one child, Fenny who died young. William then married Lou Mitchell the d/o William on 29 Sep 1884. She was born in Smith Co, TN in 1842 the d/o Ephriam J and Elizabeth. During the Civil War he was in Co E 128th IL Inf as a Lt. In 1838 Allen married Elizabeth Lee the d/o Charles and Mary. She was born in 1820 in IL.
