They had eight children. Martin was in Co C 31st IL during the Civil War. In about 1862 his first wife died along with their child. He married a second time in 1869 to Millard L Franklin the d/o Benjamin and Nancy. Martin and Millard's children were: Nancy E, John, Minerva L, Mary A and Julia A. (1887)

He died 12 Feb 1885 in Scracton, PA at the age of 73, he died on his birthday. Henry's mother was named Philopena, she was born in Germany and died in 1847 Oxford, NY. During the Civil War, Henry enlisted 04 Jul 1862 in Co A 31st NJ. On 06 Mar 1863 he married Mollie Waggoner, she was born in 1841 in Germany. In 1874, Henry moved hsi family to the Carterville area. During the Civil War, Scott was in Co D 54th IN Inf, then transferred to the 137th IN. He was a POW at Cahaba. He was returning home on the "Sultana" when it sank, he was one of the survivers.
