Thomas, George W--physician

born 04 Oct 1832 in Miami Co, OH the s/o John (d 1863 IN) and Alice (d 1864 IN), they had 7 children. George first married in 1852 to Catherine Price, she died in IN. In 1868, he came to Union Co, IL. George lived in Grassy Twp, Wmson Co, IL from 1872-78 before removing to Pope Co, IL. He married on 15 Jul 1878 to Barbara A Brandon (b 06 Apr 1851 Jackson Co, IL). They have one child named Etta. In 1882, they moved to Blairsville in Wmson Co, IL (1887)

Thompson, S D--farmer

s/o Terry (b TN--d 1855) and Mary (Springs) (b TN), they had 9 children. During the Civil War, SD was in Co C 110th IL Inf. In 1867, he married Martha Grisson, the d/o Joesph and Martha. Their children are: Joseph, James, Oscar, Mary, Samuel, Walter, Lousia, John, George and Elmo. (1887)

Thompson, James--liquor dealer in Carterville

born 1841 in Scotland. His father was, William, who died in Scotland in 1864 age 50. He was a weaver. His mother was Christenia (Clene), she died in Scotland after having 15 children. James was a coal miner at the age of 12. In 1862, he married Jane Alexnder (b 1840 Scotland). He came to the US in 1865, via WI. He came to Carterville about 1875. His children are: Maggie, William, Robert, Alexander and Christenia. (1887)

Thomson, Fred L--minister

born 23 Jun 1841 in TN. His father was, William, born May 1818 TN. He was a physician, he died Feb 1894 in Johnson Co, IL. Fred came to IL in 1863. He married on 07 Aug 1865 to Mary L Bruner in Metropolis, IL. Their children are: William, Samuel and Fred. He later married Emile Coigny in Greenville, IL (1905)

Throgmorton, William Pickney--teacher, Baptist minister

born 16 Sep 1849 Henry Co, TN. In the 1860's he came to Johnson Co, IL with his mother and stepfather. After his mother died in Aug 1865, he moved to Grassy Twp, Wmson Co, IL. He married in Sep 1868 to Elizabeth C Baker d/o Jacob David Baker. In Jul 1879, he became a preacher at Pleasant Hill Church. He was also some what of a curcuit minister visiting churches in Jackson, Union and Johnson Counties in IL. In 1887, he went to Benton to preach for 9 years. He also preached in Mt Vernon, IL, Louisiana, MO, Fort Smith, AR, DuQuoin, IL (1895), where he became the editor of the Baptist News. On 01 Dec 1904, he returned to Marion, IL (1905)

Tidwell, JF--physician

born 30 Mar 1841 in McNairy Co, TN. His father was, Eldridge S, born 1821 TN. Eldridge was a Major in the 6th TN during the Civil War. After the war, he came to Wmson Co, IL in 1864, in 1872 he moved on to TX. His mother was Nancy J Wallace (b 1822 TN), having 4 children. During the Civil War, JF was in Co C 6th TN Cav (Federal Unit). In 1866, JF married Martha J O'Neal, d/o Samuel and Biddie. Their children: Annie L, Simon L, Elias W, Kate, Moody, William, Mabel and Ethel (1887 & 1905)

Tregoning, Walter--superintendent of Carbondale Coal and Coke Co.

born 1842 Kuluck, Scotland. His father was Charles, born in Cornwall, England. He died 1852. His mother was, Margaret Duesdale, born in Larkahll, Scotland. She died 1846, having 5 children. In 1865 Walter married Margaret Adamison (b Scotland). They came to the US in 1869 to Caseyville, IL. In 1880 they moved to Carterville. Their children are: Sophia, Jacobenia, Charles, Margaret, and Walter George. (1887)

Turner, Elijah

born 1826 Simpson Co, KY. S/o John (b NC--d 1826 KY) and Martha (Williams). His mother died 1826 in KY leaving 9 children. Elijah married 1847 to Matilda Madole, d/o William and Patsy. She died 1882 in Wmson Co, IL leaving the following children: James W, John W, Martha J, Robert F, George W, Richard T, Gus H and Francis M. Elijah then married in 1882 to Henrietta Scoby d/o Charles and Mary E (Turner) (1887)

Turner, James W--teacher

born 20 Feb 1848 Robertson Co, TN. S/o Elijah and Matilda (Madole) (see above). James married in 1874 to Millie Cunningham. Their children are: James W Jr, Gus H, Richard f, Elijah H, Charles W and Millie R. (1887)

Townsend, Albert M--First National Bank Clerk

born 26 Aug 1851 Carroll Co, TN. His father died during the Civil War. His mother died before 1862. One brother was murdered during the Civil War, another was hung during the war, but survived and died 15 Apr 1903. Albert married in MI to Virginia Adman. They had 5 children. (1905)

Tygett, John P--farmer

was born 19 Dec 1830 in Weakley Co, TN. His parents were Hugh (died age 65) and Nancy (Sands) (died age 89). He came to Wmson Co with his family in 1839. He married 17 Jan 1857 to Mary Chenoweth. Children are: Alfred, Thomas, William, Elizabeth and Sarah. In 1905, the family was living in Creal Springs. (1905)
