One shot was passed but without serious result. SKELTON attempted to escape and succeeded in secreting himself from his pursuers during Sunday and at night called at a house for his supper and was told that if he would stay in a barn near the house until supper could be prepared he should be served. While in this position the officer in search was informed of his whereabouts and captured him.
