John D. Lohr, 81, Minonk, died at 3:55 p.m. Thursday (July 6,
2006), at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
Hewas born
Oct. 27, 1924, in Minonk, the son of Mark and Marie AntonsLohr. He married
Edmona J. Ioerger on Feb. 2, 1947, in Minonk. Surviving are his wife, Edmona
Lohr, Minonk; one son, John G. Lohr, Macomb; twodaughters, Susan Salquist,
Oxford, Mich., and Lisa (Frank) Goropesek,Bloomington; eight grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and onebrother, Mark (Crystal) Lohr, Minonk. He was
preceded in death by his parents and one sister, JoAnn Lohr. He was a World War
II Marine Corps veteran.
John worked for United Parcel Service in Decatur
and surrounding areas. He was a member of American Legion Post 142 in Minonk.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral
Home,Minonk, with the Rev. Richard Olson officiating. Visitation will befrom 5
to 8 p.m. Sunday, and for one hour prior to the service Monday,both at the
funeral home. Burial will be at Minonk Township Cemetery,where full military
services will be conducted by American Legion Post142. Memorials may be made to

Eva M.
Ludwig
Eva M. Ludwig, 85, of 2942CR 00N, Minonk, passed away at 9:47
a.m. Wednesday (April 12, 2006) at her residence, where she has been a hospice
patient for nearly one year.
Eva was born Aug. 13, 1920, at Shawneetown,
a daughter of Edmund and Chloe Starkey Hogan. She married Bernard ``Ben'' Ludwig
on Aug. 6, 1945, at Shawneetown. He died July 31, 1999.
Survivors include
two sons, Donald (Helen) Ludwig, Minonk, and Dennis (Michelle) Ludwig, El Paso;
six grandchildren, D. Troy (Leslie) Ludwig, Minonk; Da'na (Charles) Flynn II,
Ellisville; David T. Ludwig, Minonk; David L. Ludwig, Danielle Ludwig and
Kaitlyn Ludwig, all of El Paso; six great-grandchildren, Katherine Flynn,
Charles Flynn III, Keganne Ludwig, Alexandrea Ludwig, Jacilyn Ludwig and
Ellianna Ludwig; one brother, Albert Hogan, Peoria; and numerous nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three
sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Friday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral
Home, El Paso. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Swan Lake Memory
Gardens, Peoria. Chaplain Stephanie Soon will officiate. Memorial contributions
may be directed to Shy Drager Syndrome research at the Mayo Clinic, BroMenn
Hospice, Minonk Emergency Squad or any charity of the donor's
choice.
Mrs. Ludwig was employed at McDaniels Nursing Home in El Paso.
She, along with her husband and son, owned and operated B and D Locker Room in
El Paso. Eva was a homemaker; and she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother
and will be deeply missed.

Dies
Secor - Died
of consumption, April 13th (1882), John Luderman, aged 17 years. He was the son
of Alex Luderman.
Henry Longenbacher
End Came Sunday Evening at Home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Eichhorn
Henry Longenbacher, whose life of 67 years was spent
in western Woodford county and Metamora, passed away Sunday evening at about 8
o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eichhorn, his brother-in-law and
siter-in-law, in Metamora.
Though long troubled with a heart affection he
had not been seriously affected until recent weeks and it was not until shortly
before his death that his condition became critical.
Deceased was a son
of George and Laney Grauf Longenbacher and he was born on a farm in Spring Bay
township January 20, 1867. Most of his younger years were spent with the
Eckstein family in Worth township. On April 28, 1891, he was united in
marriage with Elizabeth Trapp, who was his helpmate until her death on August
10, 1931. The couple made their home in Spring Bay and Worth townships,
until thrity years ago when they moved to Metamora. The couple had no
children but adopted a boy, Frank, whose death occurred some years
ago.
Deceased's nearest of kin surviving are four nieces, Mrs. Clarence
Suydam, the Misses Vera and Geneva Valentine of Peoria and Mrs. Emil Hager of
Morton, who mother was Mr. Longenbacher's sister, and who died three years
ago. He is also survived by his uncle, Peter D. Smith of Peoria, and the
following cousins: C. A. Stauffer of Metamora, Mrs. Anna Shafer of
Washburn, I. H. Smith of Minonk, Rachel Grauf of Metamora, George Smith of
Chillicothe, Louis A. Smith of Chatsworth, Mrs. Anna Shafer of Gowrie, Ia., John
Stauffer and Mrs. Anna Greathouse of Texas.
Few men have enjoyed the
general respect and friendship in the community that was accorded Mr.
Longenbacher. He is mourned by all. He was honest, sincere,
sympathetic and gave his best in his every endeavor. For many years he was
engaged in the threshing business with Henry Bastian. He also served many
years as assessor of Metamora township and as a member of the village
board. He was considered one of Metamora's most valued citizens during the
many years he resided here.
The body was retained at the Mason funeral
parlors until Tuesday afternoon and then taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Eichhorn. Hundreds of friends paid their tribute of respect to his memory,
and many beautiful floral offerings were laid around his casket.
Funeral
services were held in St. Mary's church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, with
requiem high mass and sermon by Rev. Father Bertrand, who paid a great tribute
to the great faith and resignation of the deceased. Memabers of St.
Francis men's society, to which deceased belonged, attended the services in a
body. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery beside the grave of the
deceaseds' beloved wife.
Robert Gorin Livingston
Robert
Livingston, 44, of Palo Alto Ca., died suddenly while vacationing with his
family in Redding Ca., on June 20, 1967. He was born on Jan. 9, 1923
and was married to Nan Louis Johnson in 1945. They have three
children; two sons, Greg, and Jon, and one daughter , Mary
Edna. He graduated from the University of IL. and became an Aditor for the Navy
Audit Office.
Also surviving are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Livingston, parents, from Minonk, four brothers Dick and Dave of Minonk, Dr, Charles Livingston of Salina Kansas, and Phillip of Mayville Wis, and a sister Mrs. Mary Williams of Godfrey IL. One brother John Neil (Jack) Livingston proceeded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the
Minonk Baptist Church . Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday

He was born Jan. 9, 1923 in Streator IL . Bob graduated from high school in Grayville IL . and finished one year at the Univ. of Illinois before entering the army to serve in WW11. He completed his education after the war, and made his career working at the Navy Audit Office. He was active in the Presbyterian Church as well as other civic organizations including the Boy Scouts. He had a baritone voice and was a soloist at the University of Illinois , Men’s Glee Club and later at his church.
Surviving are his immediate family, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Livingston of Minonk, four brothers, Dick and Dave Livingston of Minonk, Dr. Charles Livingston of Salina Kansas , Phillip Livingston of Mayville Wisconsin , and one sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Williams of Godfrey Illinois. His brother John Neil (Jack) Livingston preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 24th at 2 p.m.
at the Minonk Baptist Church . Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on
Friday and Saturday from noon until the service begins. He will be laid to

Illinss Mrs. Henry Longenbacher, long a patient sufferer and for the last two weeks
of her life under care in St. Francis hospital, Peoria, died at the hospital
Monday afternoon at 3:35 o'clock. Richard
Livingston - contributed by Mary Moorman Mr. Livingston was dead at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday (Jan 13, 1988) at the scene
of a car-truck accident on U.S. 51 a mile north of Minonk. Mr. Livingston was a first lieutenant and pilot with the U.S. Army Air Force
and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, where he escorted
Japanese surrender planes. He was decorated twice with the Air Medal. He was employed at the T.M. Livingston Grain Elevator, Minonk, from 1945
until 1969, and later worked as an inspector at Caterpiller Tractor co., East
Peoria, until his retirement in 1984. He also farmed in the Minonk area.
He was a member of the Minonk American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Minonk Beautification Fund. Entered
Into Eternal Rest Monday, Feb. 29, 1988. Thomas Livingston -
contributed by Mary Moorman He was born Feb. 26, 1898, in Minonk, a son of Roevert M. and Elsie Davison
Livingston. He married Mildred C. Crow on Sept. 1, 1921, in Minonk.
She preceded him in death in 1979. Surviving are three sons, Phillip,
Geneva; Dr. Charles "Gene," Salina, Kan.; and David, Germantown Hills; one
daughter, Mary Williams, Godfrey; 21 grandchildren' and 27
great-grandchildren. He was preceded by three sons, one brother, one
sister and two grandchildren. Mr. Livingston was a member of Minonk United Methodist Church. He was a
veteran of World War I and a charter member of the Minonk American Legion Post
142. He was employed at the Wabash Valley Service Co. of Grayville for ten
years and by Farm Service for 20 years. He owned and operated Livingston
Grain Co. in Minonk for many years until he retired in 1972. Memorials may be made to the Minonk Beautification Fund. Entered Into

Moorman She was born April 6, 1894, in Carrolton, a daughter of Charles and Charlotte
'robinson Crow. She married T.M. Livingston Sept 1, 1921, in
Jacksonville. surviving are her husband; four sons, Richard, Minonk;
David, Germantown Hills; Dr. Charles E., Salina, Kan., and Phillip, Geneva; a
daughter, Mary Williams, Godfrey; 21 grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren. Two brothers, two sons and a grandchild preceded her
in death. She was a member of Minonk Baptist Church. Mrs. Livingston taught music
at Mount Carmel before moving to Minonk. She also taught music in Minonk
schools in 1921 and 1922. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Jack
Livingston, 36, Ex-Resident Died in Florida - contributed by Mary Moorman He was born west of Minonk, February 12, 1929, a son of T.M. and Mildred
(Crowe) Livingston. He was educated and graduated from the Minonk
schools, and attended the University of Illinois. He married the former
Mary Rooker of Minonk in June of 1953. He owned and operated a TV business
in Minonk for 1 1/2 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Brian Scott, David, and
Ann, all at home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Livingston of Minonk; five
brothers, Bob, Mt. Vernon, Iowa; Dick and Dave of Minonk; Dr. C. E. Livingston
of Salina, Kans.; and Phillip of Mayville, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Mary
Jane) Williams of Godfrey. Mr. Livingston was associated with General Dynamics at Cape Kennedy, Fla.,
for the past six years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and a member of
the St. Mark's Methodist Church in Indialantic, Fla. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Wilcox-Folkers
Memorial Home with Rev. E. Dennis Bartholomew of the First Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will be in the Davison Cemetery, west of Minonk.
Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. (today) Thursday, at the Memorial
Home.
Elizabeth Trapp Longenbacher
Beloved Metamora Lady Passed Away Monday - Funeral Held
Thursday
No woman has enjoyed higher esteem in
the community than Mrs. Longenbacher and though little hope was given that she
would be restored to health, her death nevertheless came as a shcok to her many
friends.
Mrs. Longenbacher, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Trapp, was
born in Worth township Nov. 6, 1865, a daughter of Peter Frank Trapp and
Gertrude Berkman Trapp. She spent her early life there and was united in
marriage with Henry Longenbacher April 28, 1891. The couple resided in
Worth and Spring Bay townships until abut thirty years ago when they moved to
Metamora, which has since been their home. Having no children they adopted
a son, Frank, to whom they gave every care of loving parents through his
life. He died some years ago.
Deceased is survived by her husband,
four brothers, Peter, Edward and Adam Trapp of Peoria, Dr. H. J. Trapp of
Glendale, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Eichhorn of Metamora and Mrs.
Barney Royston of Toledo, Ohio. All were present at the funeral save Dr.
Trapp of California, who was unable to reach here in time.
The body was
brought to the home in Metamora Monday afternoon and retained there until the
funeral on Thursday morning. Hundreds of friends gathered each evening to
look upon the face of their friend and to express their sympathy to the bereaved
husband and brothers and sisters.
Requiem high mass was offered at 9
o'clock Thursday morning in St. Mary's church by Rev. Father Alphonse, who also
delivered a beautiful tribute to the deceased. St. Mary's Married Ladies
society, of which deceased was a member attended in a body and the church was
filled with relatives and friends. The burial was in St. Mary's cemetery
at the close of the services. Immemse offerings of beautiful flowers
attested the love and esteem of friends from near and far.![]()
Minonk - The funeral of Richard C. Livingston, 63,
of Minonk will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home,
Minonk.
The Rev. Harry Sanders will officiate. Mr. Livingston will be
cremated. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial
home.
He was born May
16, 1924, in Streator, a son of Thomas and Charlett Mildred Crow Livingston. He
married Nancy McCully in Minonk.
Surviving are three sons, Will, Michael and
Partick, all of Minonk; two daughters, Beth Hakes, Scottsdale, Ariz., and
Therese Carlson, Page, Ariz.; his father, Minonk; three brothers, David,
Germantown Hills; Phil, Geneva; and Charles "Gene," Salina, Kan.; one sister,
Mary Jane Williams, Alton; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by an infant daughter and two sons.![]()

John N. (Jack) Livingston, 36, of
Satellite Beach, Fla., and a former resident of Minonk, died unexpectedly at his
home at 6 a.m., Wednesday morning.

Loser
Charles M. Loser, 92, of Rt. 1, East Peoria died at 5:30 pm
Monday, Dec. 13, 1965, at the Washburn Nursing Home. He had been a
resident there five years. His funeral was held at 1:30 pm Wednesday at
the Mason Funeral Home in Metamora, with burial in Spring Bay Cemetery. He
was born in Spring Bay Twp, Nov. 29, 1873, a son of Peter and Sophia Sonneberger
Loser. He married Carrie Elchorn, Oct. 18, 1906, in Chicago. She
died in 1958. Surviving are six brothers, Jacob, Lacon; Frank, Peoria;
Henry, Deer Creek; Joseph, George, Tobias, Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Mary
J. Zimmerman, Peoria; Mrs. Rosie Meister, Washington; Mrs. Annie Bennett, Spring
