
Robert Dean Quick Sr., 82, of Minonk, passed on with his family at his side at 6:07 a.m. Sunday (March 5, 2006) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, with the Rev. Craig Swenson officiating. Burial will follow at Minonk Township Cemetery, with military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
He was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Clinton County, the son of George Thomas and Mabel Cleo Yardley Quick. He married Mary F. Yates on Jan. 27, 1951, in Clay County, Ark. She died Oct. 6, 1998.
Surviving are three daughters, Sarah (Stan) Heihn of Austin, Texas; Rachel (Karl) Provost of Lakeway, Texas; and Rebecca Quick of Minonk; two sons, Robert (Janet) Quick Jr. of Aledo, Texas, and Thomas (Sue) Quick of Craig, Colo.; two brothers, Carl (Marilyn) Quick of Streator and Tom (Sue) Quick of Blackstone; and three sisters, Dorothy Alf of Carlyle; Edna Chatman of Centralia; and Lucille Abernathy of Bay St. Louis, Miss. He had eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; the American Legion Post 142;
and a life member of the Minonk V.F.W. Post 7185. He was a World War II U.S.
Army veteran serving as an aviator engineer. He owned and operated the Quick
Sunoco in Minonk for 15 years, then worked for the Minonk bakery in 1988, and
retired from the Woodford County Housing in Minonk in 2005 where he was the
maintenance manager. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Helen Quiram
Helen G. Quiram,
91, formerly of 225 S. Walnut St., Minonk, died at 2:22 p.m. Monday (Jan. 31,
2005) at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Flanagan.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. The Rev. Craig Swenson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Benson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to any charity of the donor's choice.
Helen was born Oct. 7, 1913, at Roanoke, a daughter of Seth and Gretja Wragge Reiner. She married Stanley C. Quiram in June 1939 at Benson. He died March 1, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Joanne) Quiram, Phoenix, Md., and Jim Quiram, Bloomington; two daughters, Sharon Renner, Phoenix, Ariz., and Deborah (Jim) Weiland, Rutland; one brother, Willard Reiner, Roanoke; two sisters, Velda Hawk, Davenport, Iowa; and Joyce Vissering, Minonk; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Grams, and three sisters.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, and had been employed
as a cook at the Minonk-Dana-Rutland Grade School and later Lida Nursing

Fred Quast
Fred “James” Quast, 49 of Eureka, IL passed
away at 8:56a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Advocate Eureka Community
Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1960 in Peoria, IL a son of Darrell Lee and
Elizabeth Anne Super Quast. Survivors include three brothers, John(Phyllis)
Quast of Goodfield; Joe(Sally) Quast; Jack Quast both of Eureka; two sisters,
Jean(Randy) Miller; Jenae(Andy) Snyder both of Eureka; numerous nieces and
nephews; Constant K-9 companion Brodie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a lifetime farmer in Eureka and worked for Eureka Disposal since 1993.
Fred was a member of the Congerville Gun Club, Woodford County Farm Bureau. He
was an avid outdoorsman and love animals. He was a great brother, friend, uncle
and will be greatly missed by everybody. Funeral services will be held at
11:00a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Eureka United Methodist Church.
The Reverend Ron Martz will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April
13, 2010 from 4-8p.m. at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and one
hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Cremation will be accorded
following services. Following services on Wednesday family will receive friends
at the American Legion Post #466 in Eureka. Memorial contributions may be made
