| John and Azenith Zimmerman had two sons, Cyrus
Phillip Zimmerman, b. Sept.19, 1857 and George Zimmerman, b. May 1860.
John bought a farm which is off of Irons road. McLean, Tazewell and
Woodford counties all meet at this driveway. Bud and Sarah (Shirpette)
Melton families had rented this property for many years and then bought
the farm c. 1994. I last visited Sarah and Bud in 2003, Bud died in
2004. Cyrus married Adelma Obermeyer on June 29, 1878 at Goodfield. They had three children: Bertha May Zimmerman Tuttle, Clarence John Zimmerman and Jessie Maud Zimmerman Woizeski all born Montgomery township, Woodford county, Illinois. Not sure what year, but they bought a farm in McLean County, Saybrook, Illinois and still kept the Woodford county farm too. My grandfather Rex Tuttle bought the property at auction in 1945 after the death of Clarence. John, Azenith and Georges family are buried at Stout cemetery outside Danvers. Cyrus died Feb. 21, 1935, and Adelma died May 9, 1933. The family are all buried at Riverside in Saybrook, except for my gr. grandfather William Carter Tuttle, Bertha's husband, he remarried after her death and his second wife buried him in Chebanse, Illinois. I have always wondered why John (born 1832 and died March 19, 1869) was so young when he died. My dad knew exactly where he was buried about 25 years ago, but really had no idea who was actually buried there. My dad, Wendell C. Tuttle died in 2005 and had very little knowledge of his family history....if anyone has information on John Zimmerman and his family, let me know. |
