CARROLL

 

 

Graveside services for Merton Carroll, 88, of Louisville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Utica Hillcrest Cemetery, Utica. He died Friday, July 13, 2007, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, Leitchfield, Ky. He was a native of Louisville, and a retired teamster for Fischer Packing Company. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the VFW Rough River, Ky., and the Masonic Lodge, Louisville. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-laws, John S. and Becky Carroll, Henderson, Ky. and Thaddeus and Madilynn Carroll, Louisville; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean S. and Amos Adams, Hardinsburg, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and companion, Thelma Durbin, Hardinsburg, Ky. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Schuler Carroll; and his parents, William M. Carroll and Eunice Mackey Carroll. There will be no visitation. Cremation was chosen. CARUTHERS

 

 

Funeral services for Georgia P. Caruthers, 82, of Wedgewood Manor Nursing Home, Clarksville, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, with committal service and burial in Haysville Cemetery in Haysville, Tenn., at 2 p.m. (EST). She died at the nursing home on Sunday. She was a native of Tennessee and a member of Jeffersontown United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, H. C. Caruthers of New Albany; two daughters, Helen Anderson and L. Jean Clark, both of Louisville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services for Rita H. Childress, 74, of Louisville, were held today at Arch L. Heady Westport Road Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. She died Sunday at her home. She was the former Rita Holt, a native of Parrotsville, Tenn., and a member of West Broadway Baptist Church and Queen Esther Lodge of Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Otey Childress; two daughters, Brenda L. McNeely of Jeffersonville, and Glenda M. Harbolt, Louisville; two sisters, Bonnie Whaley and Emerald Anderton, both of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services for John Felix Clark, 80, of Louisville, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen Catholic Church, 4005 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. He died Monday at Good Samaritan Center. He was a native of Nelson County, Ky., and a retired pipe fitter for Pipe Fitters Local 522. Survivors include his wife, the former Frances A. Skaggs; two sons, Jerry T. and Jack Clark, Louisville; a daughter, June Augenstein, Louisville; two brothers, J. V. Clark of Clarksville and Lawrence J. Clark, Louisville; a sister, Appie Thomas of Lebanon, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, will be until 9 p.m. Tuesday. CONSTANTINE

 

 

Funeral services for John L. Constantine, 41, of 531 Accrusia, Clarksville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Prayers for the dead will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Kraft Funeral Home. He died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was an employee of the Dupont Company and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a Korean veteran. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sharon Tyler Constantine; two sons, John T. and Scott Constantine, and four daughters, Jan, Kim, Theresa and Sharon Constantine, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Constantine; two brothers, Eugene M. CRAWFORD

 

 

Arthur Crawford, 58, R. 2, New Albany, died Thursday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Louisville. He was a retired television technician, a school bus driver, an Army veteran of the Korean War, past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1693, and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Edna Rouck; and three sisters, Viola Haynes, Athens, Ga., Vera Blake, Rome, Ga., and Margaret Carter, Carrollton, Ga. A memorial service for Jack B. Curry, 72, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of New Albany, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Kraft Funeral Home. He died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, at Florida Hospital in Orlando. He was a native of Indianapolis, retired president of B. L. Curry & Sons Inc. and an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of New Albany Rotary Club, Morat Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite Blue Lodge, Tri County Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters and a former member of New Albany Country Club and the old Union National Bank board. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary E. Kampschaeffer, a son, Jon L. Curry, New Albany; two daughters, Jill Finn, Starlight, and Joann Stewart, Florence, Ky.; two brothers, James C. Curry, Floyd Knobs, and Jerry S. Curry, Louisville; a sister, Jeanne R. Lamm Jeffersonville; and eight grandchildren. The body was cremated. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
