Funeral services for Bernard C. Uhl, 78, of Floyds Knobs, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery in Bradford. He died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Bradford and an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was the founder and owner of Uhl Truck Sales in Palmyra, New Albany and Louisville and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany. Survivors include his wife, the former Jeanette Boaz; a son, C. Todd Uhl, Corydon; four daughters, Janice Monroe, New Salisbury, Rosanne Shireman and Beth Posante, Palmyra, and Kim Freshour, Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Charles Uhl, Terre Haute; four sisters, Mary Libs and Sharon Newton, Floyds Knobs, Lorine Martin, New Salisbury and Mary Ann McElroy, Wis.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 22 and after 9 a.m. Saturday, A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Funeral services for Clem Uhl, 82, Bradford, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Bradford, with burial in the church cemetery. He died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Harrison County Hospital, Corydon. He was a retired vice-president of Uhl Truck Sales, Palmyra, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Holy Name Society, the Oblate of St. Benedict and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Agatha Buechler Uhl; two sons, Charles Uhl, Terre Haute and Bernard Uhl, Palmyra; four daughters, Mrs. Sharon Newton and Mrs. Mary Libs, both of Floyds Knobs, Mrs. Lorine Martin, New Salisbury and Mrs. Mary Ann McElroy, Brooksville, Fla.; three brothers, Severus and William Uhl, both of Bradford and Joseph Uhl, Clarksville: one sister, Mrs. Mayme Jacobi, Bradford: 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
