Remarks
The Western Argus, 13 December 1853, p. 4. This list also includes the
description of the land, names of towns, number of lots, value of lots
and improvements, value of personal property,
whether or not poll tax is due, and amount of delinquency, taxes, and
interest. John Selch of the Indiana State Library's newspaper section
submitted this article.
STATE OF INDIANA, Harrrison County, SCT. I, BENJAMIN P. DOUGLASS,
Auditor of said County of Harrison, hereby certify that the foregoing
is a correct List of Lands and Lots returned and remaining Delinquent
for the nonpayment of Taxes
due thereon for the year 1852, and that they are severally charge- able
with the amount of Taxes with which they stand charged, and that the
same
was recorded on Monday the 14th day of November 1853. Given under my
hand as Auditor aforesaid, at my office in Corydon. this 14th day of
November. A.D. 1853.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
That the foregoing tracts of Lands and Lots or so much of each tract or
lot as may be necessary to discharge the Taxes, Interest and Charges
that may be due
thereon, or due by the owner thereof at the time of sale, will be sold
at Public Auction by the Treasurer of said county at the Court-house in
the town of
Corydon on the first Monday, being the 2nd day of January 1853. At the
same time and place all lands and lots heretofore forfeited to the
State will be sold in
the same manner. Said sale to continue from day to day until all said
Lands and Lots shall be offered for sale. November 15,1853. BENJAMIN P.
