LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF SOPHIA TASKEY, DECEASED #581

In the name of the Benevolent Father of All, I, Sophia Taskey, of Seymour, Indiana, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made, to-wit:

Item 1. It is my will that all ray just debts, including a debt of two Hundred Fifty Dollars to my son Gus .Taskey, funeral and burial expenses, be first paid.

Item 11. I hereby give and bequeath to each of my grandchildren, numbering twenty-one in all, the sum of Five Dollars.

Item 111. I hereby give, devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my property, both real and personal, of every character and description and wherever situate to my children, Charles Taskey, Gotlib Taskey, Gus Taskey, and Flora Huffman and to the three children of my deceased son Otto Taskey, provided that said three children of my deceased son shall together take only one-fifth of the residue and remainder of my said estate. In testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this First day of  March, 1935.

The above and foregoing Instrument or writing was, upon the date thereof, duly signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Sophia Taskey, as and for her last Will and Testament in presence of us, who, at her request and In her presence and In presence of each other have subscribed our names hereto as witnesses.

STATE OF INDIANA,  JACKSON COUNTY, ss:
Before me, John C. Branaman, Judge of the Jackson Circuit Court, personally came H. Montgomery, one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament of Sophia Taskey, late of  Jackson County, Indiana, deceased, and being duly sworn, on oath says that he was present at the execution of said last Will that the same was duly executed; that at the time of the execution thereof said testatrix was of full age to devise her property, of sound mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint; that said testatrix requested O. H. Montgomery and John Rebber to sign said will as witnesses thereto, which they accordingly did in the presence of said testatrix and in the presence of etch other as subscribing witnesses thereto.

Conner, Clerk of the Jackson Circuit Court, do hereby certify that the above  and foregoing lest will and testament of Sophia Taskey, late of  Jackson County, State of Indiana, deceased, was this day duly admitted to probate and record and the proof thereof duly made by 0. H. Montgomery, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, which said will, together with such proof, have been duly recorded in Record of Wills, No. 5, Page 234, in this office.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ALICE T. TASKEY DECEASED #1017

I, Alice T. Taskey, a resident of Jackson County, Indiana, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and testament.

Item 1.  To my son Omer Taskey, I give and bequeath one feather bed, together with bedstead, two pillows and comforts.

Item 2.  To my grandson Melvin P. Taskey, I give and bequeath my bedroom suite including bed, dresser, chest of drawers, small table and rug; also pillows, feather bed comforts, for said bed; also heatrola and kitchen furniture including kitchen cabinet, table and four chairs; also my silverware and electric sweeper; also hand made quilts.

Item 3.  To my daughter-in-law Marie Taskey (wife of my son Glenn Taskey) I give and bequeath the set of furniture consisting of white chest of drawers, stand table, and rocker.

Item 4. To my daughter Inez Auffenberg, I give and bequeath the falling leaf table.

Item 5.  To my daughter Frances Hewitt, I give and bequeath the sewing machine and the orchid dresser with the glass.

Item 6.  All the rest of my furniture and personal goods shall be sold and this together with any cash and proceeds from sale of any other personal property shall constitute a fund from which there shall be expended an amount necessary to place suitable markers at the graves of (1) my mother Louisa Cozart, (2) my husband John C. Taskey, and (3) my own grave.  The balance remaining of cash and any other personal property not herein specifically give and bequeathed shall go to my grandson Melvin P. Taskey.

Item 7.  All my real estate, I give and devise share and share alike to the following persons to wit:  my daughters Flossie Brooks, Inez Auffenberg, Alice Smith, Gladys Speller, Ruth Greene, Martez VonDielingen, Dorothy VonDielingen, and Frances Hewitt; my sons John E. Taskey, Glenn Taskey and Omer Taskey, and my grandson Melvin P. Taskey.

I hereby constitute and appoint my son John Taskey as executor of this will.

Witness my hand this 6th day of April, 1944.

The foregoing instrument, signed, sealed, and acknowledged by the said Alice T. Taskey, as and for her last will and testament, in our presence, who at her request, in her presence and the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as a witnesses thereto this 6th day of April 1944.

  Before me Joe W. Goss, Clerk of the Jackson Circuit Court, personally came Coulter M. Montgomery one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament of Alice T. Taskey, late of Jackson County, Indiana, deceased, and being duly sworn, on oath says the he was present at the execution of said last will; the same was duly executed; that at t he time of the execution thereof said testatrix was of full age to devise her property, of sound mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint; that said testatrix requested Coulter M. Montgomery and Lois Knoke to sign said will which they accordingly did in the presence of said testatrix and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto.
