[Richard was the oldest son of James and Mary Hogland in the Daily Journal of July 28, 1860, on Saturday last a man named Richard Hoglan was killed on the Jefferson railroad, near Marshfield, by the engine striking him and knocking him off the track on which he was walking in disregard of the signals of the engineer. Don't know if this is the same Richard Hogland.]
