Mullin, George H.
Supt. Mullins Funeral Friday
Lamented Official Will Be Laid to Rest with.
Masonic Ritualistic Exercises.
Supt. George H. Mullin, head of the Johnson county schools, whose death sadly sudden, was recorded in the Press last evening, will be laid to rest in Oakland cemetery Friday afternoon, following services to be conducted at the Masonic temple at 2:00 o'clock. The funeral will be public, but the family requests that no flowers be sent. Rev. Dr. D. W. Wylie, chaplain of the A. F. & A. M., of which the departed educator was a prominent member will be the officiating clergyman. Three Score Fruitful Years. Mr. Mullin was 60 years and seven days of age, having been born in Iowa on Sept. 29, 1855. He had passed a great portion of his life hereabouts, both he and Mrs. Mullin having been pioneers of North English. As an educator, prior to coming to Iowa City where he was early elected county superintendent, because of his experience, ability, and whole hearted devotion to our schools he served as city superintendent and in kindred education and executive posts elsewhere. He gave good service, for example, at Washington, Fort Dodge, and Columbus Junction. His work was always faithful and its results spelled the uplift of rural and city schools. In Johnson county, he will be long mourned, and the sudden summons is the more shocking because he held such a place in the public esteem. Widow and Sons Mourn. Surviving to mourn, with other relatives and many friends, are Mr. Mullin's widow and two sons-Homer, of Iowa City; and Horace, a prominent civil engineer of Omaha, Neb. There also survive a sister in Adair, Iowa, and two brothers, who are twins. The brothers are Lafayette, of North English; and Frank, of Ironton
