Jones were married Wednesday evening, January 7, 1914, at 6 o’clock, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hyde, in Quincy township. Rev. E. E. Garrett of Carbon, performed the ceremony in the presence of the immediate relatives of the contracting parties. Miss Laura Jones, sister of the groom, played the wedding march. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hyde as stated above. She was born in Bedford, but has resided in Quincy vicinity some years. She wore a pretty gown of light blue messaline trimmed in bead lace. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Jones, of Quincy township. He was born and grew to manhood in Quincy. He is one of the hustling young farmers of that vicinity. He and his bride will make their home with his parents for the present. After the wedding ceremony a dainty luncheon was enjoyed. Thursday a big reception was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jones at the home of the groom’s parents. About forty guests were present during the day and a similar number of young people spent the evening there. The tables were prettily decorated with pink and white chrysanthemums and a fine dinner was served. That these young people may obtain their full share of the good things of this life is the wish of their many friends. (Adams County Free Press – January 14, 1914)
