Anderson ~ Becker Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Anderson are now at home to friends. Their marriage took place March 20 at the manse of the Presbyterian church at Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. A. H. Grossheim read the service at 4:00 o’clock. The bride, the former Mabel Becker, chose a beige dress for the occasion. With it she wore ginger brown accessories and a brown orchid corsage. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Panther, friends of the bride, of La Crosse. Mrs. Panther wore a brown dress with brown accessories and a green orchid corsage. After the ceremony supper for the bridal party was served at the Sky Club Steak House, La Crosse. The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Becker, was employed as cashier at the Foodland Super Market. The groom is employed at the Northern States Power company. Beechel ~ Franz Miss Margaret Franz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Franz, and Keith Beechel, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Beechel of Marshfield, were married on Saturday, August 31st, at Waukon, Iowa, Rev. Peter Kjorlong reading the marriage ceremony. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wegner. The bride was attired in a brown street dress of alpaca crepe with brown accessories and her shoulder corsage consisted of yellow roses and gladiolas. Mrs. Wegner wore a dress of teal blue crepe with black accessories and her shoulder corsage consisted of red roses and red gladiolas. The couple will be at home after September 8th in Colby and will reside in the Dittmeyer apartments. The groom is employed by the H. H. Motor Co. in Colby. Dern ~ Hubing The marriage of Miss Ruth Hubing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hubing of Neillsvile, and Arthur Dern of Neillsville, took place on Thursday, March 1, at Waukon, Iowa. They went on a wedding trip to various places in Indiana and Ohio, where they will visit relatives, and will return home in about three weeks. Mr. Dern is the proprietor of the Neillsville bakery, and his bride has been employed as clerk at the bakery for several years. Hanson ~ Olson Mr. and Mrs. Harry Olson of Abbotsford announce the marriage of their daughter, Mildred, to John Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hanson, also of Abbotsford. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Crouch at Waukon, Iowa, on June 17th. The couple was attended by Miss Vivian Moore and Donald Cook both of Abbotsford. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hanson are graduates of the Abbotsford High School. The bride is also a graduate of the Milwaukee Accredited School of Beauty Culture, of Eau Claire. For the past two years she has been employed at the Abbotsford Telephone Exchange. Mr. Hanson was graduated from the Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point, where he received his bachelor of science degree. Nixdorf ~ Colby Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nixdorf are on a wedding trip in southern Wisconsin and Illinois and will be at home to friends on the groom’s farm in the town of Mayville in a week. Their marriage took place at Waukon, Iowa, in the Presbyterian church at 4:00 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, Feb. 28. The double ring ceremony was read by the attending minister. The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Colby, wore a purple wool gabardine suit with black accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Don Colby, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, of La Crosse, were witnesses. For the occasion Mrs. Colby wore a black printed sheer dress with black accessories. The bride and groom are both graduates of the Abbotsford high school. Mrs. Nixdorf has been employed at the Abby Café and during the winter Mr. Nixdorf worked for Lamont’s Service. Rogers ~ Gilbertson A marriage of interest to Abbotsford residents is that of Clarence “Tudy” Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rogers of ?, to Miss Margaret Gilbertson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gilbertson, Augusta. The marriage took place in Waukon, Iowa, before a justice of the peace, on Saturday, June 22. The Rogers family were former residents of Abbotsford and Mr. Rogers while here was one of the publishers of the Abbotsford Tribune.
