Jacob Rood

Special Dispatch to the World Herald.
Spencer, Ia., Oct. 12—Jacob Rood, aged 83 years, died here of old age. He had lived here for twenty-five years and was an Iowa pioneer.

Eurick Smith

Frozen to Death.--Eurick Smith, a young man formerly residing in Manchester, was frozen to death in Spencer, Clay county, Iowa, on the 14th of March. He was driving oxen, drawing wood, and seems to have become bewildered. Two other men were frozen in company with him.

Death of W. H. Wyatt

W. H. Wyatt who has been here about four months, died at 7:30 this morning. The remains will be sent to his home at Spencer, Iowa, as soon as his son arrives and arrangements are completed for the journey. Mr. Wyatt is expected to arrive tonight or tomorrow.
