Dead in a hay mow

Almost standing on her head, the children of Mrs. Theressa Hotfrichter, found their mother. The family lived on a farm in Clay County. For some time Mr. Hotfrichter had not been well. It is thought that she went to the barn and was gathering eggs and went to the hay mow. Stooping over where there was a deep hole in the hay it is thought she was seized with heart trouble and fell head long .

She Tied His Shoes

How an Iowa Girl Secured a Wealthy Husband

Woodstock ~ Tracy

Spencer, Ia., May 26.—The marriage of Miss Etta Tracy of Spencer to Dr. Woodstock of New York was consummated Thursday.

The contracting parties first met at Arnold’s park where the young lady was employed as a dining-room girl, and, ‘tis said, that the groom was first attracted by the kindness of the girl, who, when he was helpless, was so accommodating as to lace his shoes, which favor the other girls had refused, though he pleaded his inability to perform this service for himself, owing to lumbar rheumatism.

The infatuated gentleman proposed marriage and in order to fit her for the position of wife placed her in a good school, he taking up his residence near.

This spring the romantic courtship was terminated in the most happy manner, and the loving pair, will spend some time in wandering among the wonders of the old world, when, it is said, they propose to return and make Spencer their home.
