Iowan, 20, Dies of Spinal Meningitis OMAHA, NEB. (AP) - An Iowan who had returned Saturday from training with the Nebraska National Guard at Ft. Carson, Colo., has died of spinal meningitis. National Guard authorities identified him as Leroy M. Madison, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Madison of Tabor, Ia. The commander of the Nebraska City National Guard units, of which Madison was a member, said that persons who might have came in contact with Madison are being treated as a preventative measure. Authorities said Madison returned home Saturday afternoon and complained he was not feeling well. He was taken to a Hamburg, Ia, hospital and died a short time later. His mother said that doctors confirmed he had died of spinal meningitis.
