VA
Discharge Papers state that Frederick Myers, private of Capt James B. Brown's 136th National Guards of Ohio Regiment
enrolled on the ? day of May 1864 to serve 100 days. He was discharged 31 August 1864 at Camp Chase Ohio at the
expiration of his term. The said Frederick Myers was born in Baden, Germany, was 2? (ink blot), 5 feet 5, ruddy
complexion, grey eyes, brown hair and when enrolled, his occupation was "laborer"
He applied for Invalid pension no 559616 on October 22, 1886 while living in Humboldt, IA and the following question
blank was filled out:

Date of enlistment: 20th of April 1861
Place of enlistment: Upper Sandusky, Wyndot Co, OH for 3 months

What disability do you claim pension for: Hurt in the head skull broke near June '61 near Graften, Virginia
Circumstances : Chopping trees down blockading the road from the Rebels
Describe your condition since you left the army: bad at all times but worse before a storm, sometimes suffer a
great deal
He was treated by 2nd Lieut Dr. Kilwer, who has since died.
