Johnson County, Iowa Marriage Announcements

HURLESS-BOWERSOX
Well Known Coleta Teachers Married at Home of Bride in Iowa.
Roy [Cephas LeRoy] Hurless and Miss Ruia Bowersox were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents near Waterloo, Ia., [probably near Shueyville, Johnson Co., Iowa, which is where the Bowersox family always lived] today at noon. Mr. Hurless and his wife are both well known in this vicinity and will have many congratulations on the momentous event.
Mr. Hurless has long been a prominent teacher in the schools of Genesee township, having had charge of the school at Coleta for several years. His wife is also a well known teacher and for some time has been assistant for Mr. Hurless. They will return to Coleta within a week or two and take possession of their home which has been fitted up for their reception. Mr. Hurless will teach a school in the vicinity of Coleta next year and live in the village. [The Sterling Evening Gazette, August 20, 1902, page 4, column 2. - Submitted by Larry Reynolds]
