Torrey, Benoni & Torrey, Mrs. Rosamond

Died at Thornburg, Keokuk Co., Iowa, of smallpox, March 23d, Benoni Torrey, 63 years, 10 months, 14 days.

Also, at the same place, and of the same disease, March 24, Rosamond, wife of Benoni Torrey, exact age unknown.

Sedlacek, Phyllis G.

Age 91 of Wyoming Died, Thursday, February 8, 2007.

Phyllis was born October 12, 1915 in Keokuk Co., IA, the daughter of Frank Oliver and Mary Alice (Hotchkiss) Greenlee. She was preceded in death by son Lee Ostrom, husbands Carl Ostrom and George Sedlacek, three brothers, and two sisters. Phyllis is survived by daughter, Christine (Ken) Stannard of Colorado; sister Mrs. Evelyn Pellow of Michigan; step-daughter Kathryn (Glenn) Grubbs; daughter-in-law Denise Ostrom, two step-granddaughters, Kim (Nathan) Harvey and Megan (Josh) Peschman, and three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of Minnesota. A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. The family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mattson Funeral Home. & Cremation Service. --

Joseph Wightman

Joseph Wightman, aged 86 years, an old soldier of 1812, and one of the oldest settlers and Masons in Keokuk county, died at his residence in Richland, March 25th, 1869. Gleaned from the News.
