"Cy" Chase, farmer near
Corwith, was taken to an Algona hospital Tuesday afternoon after his new car had collided with a truck loaded with
scrap iron about two miles this side of Algona, it was reported. Both the car and truck were going west, and according
to reports, in Chase's trying to pass the truck, misjudged the clearance, the right side of his car scraping the
rear of the truck. Both were thrown from the highway to the ditch.
Late Saturday afternoon, two Des Moines men were killed west of Algona when their car, traveling at a high rate
of speed, got out of control and was wrecked.
Sunday afternoon, an intersection collision in downtown Algona caused cuts and bruises to Lowell Hancher, son of

Wesley Girl Hurt in Auto Accident
Wesley, July 11- Evangline Cruise,
Wesley girl who had been attending the Teachers college at Cedar Falls, and a friend, Roberta Bastine, Humboldt,
were hurt in an automobile accident near Waverly on the way home Friday. They were taken, to a Waverly hospital
for x-rays and it was reported that Evangeline suffered a fracture of the pelvic bone. She was brought home in

Miss Thecla Eisenbacher is teaching
the third and fourth grade pupils in the Parochial school this week substituting for Sister

Erdmann Baby Dies
Rita Jeanne Erdmann, five month
old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Erdmann, died Saturday morning at 9"15. Angel services were held for her
at one o'clock Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Born June 28, Rita Jeanne was the third daughter of the Erdmanns. Surviving are her parents, two sisters, Patricia
Ann and Mary Lee, and her grandmother, Mrs. Kate Kennedy.
Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery with the McMahon Funeral Home in charge. [Kossuth County 1935, submitted

Sister M. Illuminata of the St.
Francis Convent in Milwaukee arrived here Saturday morning and will fill the vacancy caused by the illness of Sister M. Hermine. Sister Hermine will return
to the Convent for a rest within a short time. [Kossuth County News

Mother Superior and Sister M. Ida (Illuminata) who
were here visiting the Sisters of St. Francis in charge of the local parochial school, returned to their Convent
at Milwaukee Friday night. Sister M. Hermine,
who was ill and confined to her bed is reported improved, however Thecla

Gene Loebig Has Stroke Xmas Eve
Condition Shows Signs of Improvement Report
E. N. Loebig suffered a stroke Christmas evening about eight o'clock and remained unconscious until Thursday,
when he regained consciousness but soon swooned away again. Attendants, however, said they noted signs of improvement
Thursday morning.
Loebig, who is 54 years of age, is well known in the Wesley vicinity having farmed near here for a number of years.
At present he farms two and three fourths miles east of the Catholic church. [Kossuth

Olson, Matern Hurt In Wreck
E. M. Olson and Frank Matern were injured when Olson turned his
stock truck out of the road to avoid hitting a car driven by Max Reidy of Algona at the Jack Cruise corner north
of here Monday morning. Olson received several cracked ribs and is unable to drive his cream route, Lou Ricke,
driving the cream truck for him.
The accident occurred when Olson was transporting a bull for Joe Matern in his stock truck. The truck was badly

McMahon Ambulance Battles Snow Drifts
The R. A. McMahon ambulance called
to Corwith at 12:45 last Friday to take Mrs. Edward Dougall to an Algona hospital. Mrs.
Dougall was brought seven miles in a bobsled, but drifts prevented getting
any closer to the highway on which the ambulance was, so Mr. McMahon and the men had to carry the woman about sixty
rods over snow drifts. It was seven o'clock before Mr. McMahon was able to get the ambulance carrying the woman

Mr. and Mrs. Roman Ricke, with
Mr. Henry Ricke, the former's father, and Mrs. R. J. Thissen of Algona, Mrs. Ricke's sister, were in an accident Saturday a mile south of Blairsburg
when their car collided with a wagon. Mr. Ricke received a sprained ankle and Mrs. Thissen was badly bruised on

Little Dwayne Studer, oldest son
of Mr. and Mrs. August Studer, met with an accident last week Tuesday, when while at play at the school grounds
he jumped off one of the playing equipment, and as a result broke the bone in his left forearm. This little boy
a few years ago critically injured one of his eyes necessitating an operation. In spite of his handicaps, he remains

George Vitzthum has returned to
school after an absence of about seven weeks due to a broken leg. Although he is still on crutches he has bright
hopes of being able to play ball with his team before school closes. [Published

George Vitzthum, 17, son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Vitzthum, who is employed at the August Studer farm, was pierced in the knee by a pitch fork last
week when the horses he was driving started suddenly causing his fork to slip. Two tines of the fork passed through

Leo Wagner, Wesley, was severely
burned recently when a can of kerosene placed on a stove exploded as he was reaching for it. He jumped into a tank
of water to put out the flames in his clothing and then threw pails of water on a blaze that started in the house

Rev. A. J. Wagener returned home
Friday from Sioux City to where he went directly from Dubuque after having attended the funeral of his mother,
Mrs. Elizabeth Wagener, 91, on Tuesday. While at Sioux City he assisted in special Holy Thursday services there

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wingert
was reported to be seriously ill Monday morning suffering with a siege of pneumonia. [Kossuth

Stacyville - Julius Wingert, Jr.,
small son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wingert, was rushed to the Nissen Hospital at Osage Thursday. He had a broken
appendix and gangrene had set in. His condition is serious. [Kossuth
