JOHN BENJAMIN BONAWITZ

John B. Bonawitz, aged 18, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Bonawitz, a farmer of Washington township, living a short distance south of Luray, died at his fatherâ€"s home at 3 oâ€"clock this morning of abcess of the liver and peritonitis. Mr. Bonawitx had been sick for a month. He was born in Washington township, Sept. 10, 1889 and had lived there all his life. He is survived by his parents, on brother and five sisters ____Charles, Anna, Bessie, Maud, Florence and Pearl Bonawitx, all of whom live with their parents. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 oâ€"clock. The body will be buried at the Maple Grove Cemetery .

JOHN H. BONAWITZ

John H. Bonawitz, 89, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the county hospital after a long illness. He had been in failing health for two years, but became much worse two weeks ago. Age debility was the cause of death. John Henry Bonawitz was born Dec. 31, 1849, in Logan County , Illinois , the son of William and Phoebe (Lower) Bonawitz. He came to Iowa with his parents in 1860, settling on a farm eight miles southwest of Marshalltown . He married Miss Anna Meech, daughter of Abel and Maryann Meech, in December, 1882, and she died July 7, 1934. He is survived by one son and four daughters, Charles C. Bonawitz of Malcom, Mrs. A. H. Longman and Mrs. Anna Melberg of Marshalltown , Mrs. Charles Petermeier of Baxter and Mrs. Arnt Loney of State Center . The body is at the Estel funeral home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in charge of Rev. P.G. Dennis. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery .
