Ralph D. Linville - World War I, Letter

My dear Father, Mother and Sister,

Your letter received some time ago and was glad to hear from you. You are probably enjoying yourselves this winter by sleeping late and eating apples and probably popcorn in the evening. (Some little things Ralph is not getting.)

We get up at six o'clock in the morning and go to bed at nine in the evening and we put in a good day considering everything. We are getting a good line of work and it is very interesting, so the time flies along., We are always glad when Saturday and Sunday comes, for they are off days, and we use them to advantage for general clean up day and take care of our week's washing.

I am real well and am taking good care of myself, for I have been there before and know. It makes it a little hard for some of the boys that don't take care of themselves as they ought to, but everything possible is done for our welfare and protection.

I will close for this time. Your son and brother,

Sergt. Ralph D. Linville
Co. “K” 168th Inf.
