Gordon, General John G. of Muscatine, Iowa died January 4, 1877 aged 67 years. He was a prominent businessman here. He was a native of Baltimore, Maryland and came to Muscatine in 1844. He leaves 7 children, all grown and married with the exception of two. The funeral will be next Saturday. (Rock Island Daily Argus, Saturday 6 January 1877, sub. by K. Torp)
