Sarah H. Battey

H.V. Battey received word Saturday morning from Manhattan, Kansas announcing the death of Mrs. SARRAH BATTEY, wife of Captain Percy B. Battey, of the medical corps at Camp Funston. Captain Battey is a son of Mr. and Mrs. H.V. Battey of this city. Mrs. Battey, who was formerly a trained nurse, had been living at Manhattan since her husband was attached to Camp Funston.

Monday evening she received a call to act as nurse for the students' army training corps at the agricultural college at Manhattan, where influenza is prevalent. After several days of close attention to her work she was taken ill and passed away early Saturday morning.

The services were held at the grave in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Wilford E. Mann, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, conducted the services .
