THE OBITUARY OFJohn T. "Jack" Beach |
John T. "Jack" Beach, 84, 19 South First Street, who operated the first electric streetcar between Omaha and Council Bluffs, died Wednesday at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. He retired from the street railway company in 1930. He also held a unique fraternal record in as much as he was outer guard for the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 35 years without missing a meeting. Beach was also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church.
Surviving are a step daughter, Dorothy Murphy-Gunn of Council Bluffs and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Woodring's Chapel, Elder V.D. Ruch officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill.
