THE OBITUARY OFHelen I. Benton |
Mrs. HELEN I. BENTON, 80, life time resident of Council Bluffs, died at 5 a.m. Friday at her home 809 Fourth Avenue. She had been ill with heart trouble.
Mrs. Benton was born August 6, 1858 in a house on Fifth Avenue directly to the rear of her present home and had lived in that vicinity practically all of her life, the last forty-seven years in her present home.
She was the widow of Edwin H. Benton, a live stock commission man who operated on the South Omaha market. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving here are two daughters, Marian Hicks, Mrs. Jere Van Rensselaer; two sisters, Mrs. W.A. Lewis, Miss Anna Underwood; two brothers, H.J. Underwood and F.L. Underwood, all of Council Bluffs; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
The body is at the residence. The Cutler Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
