Peter D. Bleth

Peter D. Bleth, 75, died Thursday August 21 in a Baraboo, Wisconsin hospital after becoming ill on a trip to the Wisconsin Dells.

Services were Monday at 10 a.m. in Council Bluffs with Monsignor Albert L. Davidsaver officiating. Burial was in Downsville Cemetery near Underwood.

Bleth is a native of Richardton, ND, and lived most of his life in the Mott, ND, area. He came to Council Bluffs last October to live with his son, Richard, a coach at Lewis Central High School. He worked for 25 years in the maintenance department of the Milwaukee Road, retiring in 1969.

His wife, Mary, died in 1958. Besides his son, Richard, he is survived by another son, Royce of San Juan, Puerto Rico; two brothers, LeRoy and Tom both of Vancouver, Washington; 10 sisters, Kate Kaufman and Rose Weddington both of Vancouver, Washington, Bertha Draper of Elgin, ND, Lizzie Braun of Hettinger, ND, Lena Braun of Morristown, SD, Ann Zubrod of Rapid City, SD, Barbara Daley and Sally Phillips both of Seattle Washington, Eileen Bishop of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Monica West of Springfield, Oregon; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
