Ivan H. Boren, 75, Missouri Valley, died Wednesday at Community Memorial Hospital. Mr. Boren was born in Valentine, Nebraska. He lived in Council Bluffs for 30 years before moving to Missouri Valley in 1966. He was a former employee of Rose Hill Cemetery in Missouri Valley. He was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Medical Corps overseas. He was a life member of the VFW Post 737 and a member of the RLDS Church of Crescent. He and his wife, Sarah, were married 53 years.

Besides his wife, survivors include a son, John Scott of Waco, Texas; daughters, Lettie Hansen and Nancy Poffenbarger both of Council Bluffs; sisters, Mabel Bertelsen of Logan, Sarah Olsen of Treynor, Marie Holly and Gladys Powell both of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Branson Cemetery, Loveland. Elder Mike Guinan will officiate. Military graveside honors will be conducted by VFW Post 737. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at McCurdy Funeral Home.
