THE OBITUARY OFMarinus "Mar" B.L. Bouricius |
MARINUS "Mar" B.L. Bouricius, 75 well known Council Bluffs musician died Tuesday at the Masonic home at Davenport. Death was due to pneumonia.
A native of the Netherlands, Bouricius had devoted his life to music. His first Masonic degree was taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and while a resident of Council Bluffs he was honored as a fifty-year Mason. He was a member of Bluff City Lodge No. 71, A.F. & A.M. He left here less than a year ago for the Masonic home. Prior to that he maintained a music studio on West Broadway and taught hundreds of students how to play the piano. His body will be returned to Cutler's mortuary for funeral services. Masons will be in charge.
Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Anna; one son, Guy Bouricius of Hastings, Nebraska; three sisters, Mrs. Rosina Rain, Mrs. Lulu Lauer and Mrs. Marie Kern, all of Council Bluffs, and one brother, Fred Lohan of Council Bluffs.
