Robert Boyd, one of the oldest citizens of the city, passed away Friday afternoon at St. Bernard's Hospital. Mr. Boyd was a resident here before Pottawattamie County was organized, and the first deed placed on file in book 1, page 1, of the county records, was by him for a tract of land east of the city. In all the intervening years he has been known as an honorable, upright man, and many friends will learn of his demise with sorrow. The funeral will occur this afternoon at 2 o'clock under the auspices of the Odd Fellows, of which society he had a long been a member.
