THE OBITUARY OF

Polly M. Brown

Polly M. Brown

Mrs. Polly M. Brown, the aged and highly esteemed mother of Mr. Freeman Brown, breathed her last at the residence of her son on Madison Street shortly after 12 o'clock on Tuesday night.

In the death of Mrs. Brown this community loses an exemplary Christian and one who was at all times striving in a humble way to do good to her friends and neighbors, and lay up treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not corrupt and where thieves break not through and steal. She was a devoted and loving mother, and no children will miss her more than those with whom she has made her home for some time, but they bow to the will of Him who doeth all things well, and realize that the beloved mother and companion has entered into the rest which is in store for all such. During her long and painful illness she bore up with that fortitude and patience which characterizes only a devoted Christian nature, and when the final summons came she passed away as though falling into a peaceful slumber.

The funeral will be held from the residence of Mr. Brown on Madison Street at 1 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. T. H. Cleland officiating. Friends of the family are invited to attend without further notice.
