FROM CELL TO ALTAR

Bob Limerick Brought From Jail,
Married and Returned to Durance

A queer wedding occurred yesterday afternoon in the office of Sheriff Hazen; Rev. Mr. Overton officiating. A prisoner who has been incarcerated nearly five months was the groom and a girl 21 years of age was the bride. The prisoner was Robert Limerick, now under indictment on the charge of burglary. Nibby Tucker, the girl whom he married, had succeeded in persuading him to give his name to her unborn child and hence the ceremony. After they had been made one, Limerick was led back to his cell, where in all likelihood he will spend several moons and think on honeymoons to come.

He will no doubt be remembered as a member of the gang of young thieves who during the last winter engaged in breaking the seals of box cars for booty, and who for a long time set the efforts of the police to effect a capture at total defiance. The theft that finally led to their apprehension was committed in the log cabin of Ben Marks near Manawa. In company with his brother he looted the place of many valuable blankets and other precious articles of convenience with which the place was well stored. A systematic search was made for the thieves and it finally resulted in their capture in company with the balance of the gang which consisted of Hall, Harris and Kearns. The brother of the now mated man has already received a sentence of three years in the penitentiary. The case against the parties named will be taken up before Judge Macy today.
